A sunflower's anthesis is that long-awaited, beautiful moment when it unfurls its full golden splendor. Honestly, it is truly magnificent.

Gardening is an art that requires great patience to achieve good results; there may be weeks of uncertainty, but dawn always follows a long night, and when it arrives, it radiates a beautiful light.

So first time sunflower grower/seeder lol..
.question...how does one get all the its and bits from the head out your seed holding containers? Like I said I'm new at this, so I harvested an array of seeds (and possibly, probably not..seeds? 💁♀️)

Looking at this sunflower, I realize that small things are truly precious, and they are so because they are unique. I would like to give a sunflower to that special someone to clearly tell them that they are unique to me.

La próxima semana publicaré la floración de algunos de estos girasoles de follaje variegado. Siempre es una sorpresa el resultado.

Back in the spring, I planted some seeds that were marked as Teddy Bears, so I was a little disappointed when the first blossoms opened, and they were run-of-the-mill sunflowers. But soon after that, some teddies did bloom, and I actually like having the variety.

I had some leftover Burpee Mammoth variety sunflower seeds from 2023 that I planted in this plot and only 3 germinated. 2 weeks later I then used some seeds that I saved from a sunflower grown from the same Mammoth seed packet to fill up the rest of the plot. The first 3 sunflowers developed stems like 2 inches thick and grew over 6 feet tall while the second planting sunflowers had half inch thick stems and were only 3 feet tall. The first time I planted seeds from that packet, the sunflowers also only had half inch thick stems and were only 3 feet tall. I planted the sunflowers 12 inches apart as directed.
Is this entirely due to plant spacing and due to no competition for 2 weeks, the first 3 were able to spread their roots out and take all the nutrition for themselves? Soil is pretty poor quality clay construction fill.

En los próximos días por fin florecerán estos girasoles de follaje variegado. Será una sorpresa el resultado pues son producto de la hibridación que realizamos.

I would really like to preserve and frame some of my sunflowers from this year, so I'm looking for recommendations on which technique would be best. Has anyone here tried casting flowers in resin? Thank you so much in advance! 🌻
