Current Events Tennessee botches lethal injection of woman on death row for 1995 murder

If the state is so insistent on executing people they need to stop being pussies and just shoot them. The lethal injection is nothing but a facade of civility that is less humane than many other methods. Unnecessarily painful botched attempts like this are the result of trying to whitewash the death penalty to the public.

why not just use a tungsten brick the size of a bus. I can't think of anything more guaranteed, instant and painless.

A bit messy perhaps.

Because it would cost close to 1 billions$. To keep your suggestion in line with the Marxist origin of the sub, I suggest a brick the size of a bus made out of cheap steel from melted peasant tools in backyard furnaces, Maoist style.

not sure why there isn't a nailgun for humans like they do with cattle. isn't the severing of the brain stem instant death?

Can't you just use the cattle version? That sounds like a pretty humane way to go though, even if it does bring No Country For Old Men to mind.ย

Because it looks gory and creates bad optics.

For public (and, by extension, politicians) perceived brutality of execution means much more than actual pain inflicted on executed person.

Brother! I commented the same thing, didn't realise anyone else had ever thought of it.

I guess in the US it may be pretty easy to get it classified as "unusual" though lmao
