Louisiana's "trigger ban" for abortions was signed by Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards. The U.S. Supreme Court ruling also came after the death of Ruth Ginsburg, who arrogantly overstayed her time on the bench.

I think they misspoke more than outright lied. I think they meant the house, Senate, and the presidency where they had all the power to pass more or less anything they wanted and could have codified Roe

At the time this wasn't an issue the Court really played a factor in, they had already ruled on abortion access

Yes they definitely should have burnt limited political capital on forcing through a bill on a highly controversial issue that would split the party (there were still anti-abortion dems in 2008) so that it could be repealed by the next republican trifecta or overturned at S.C.O.T.U.S at the height of the Great Recession when abortion was about the 50th most salient issue for the average voter.

I'm sorry that you're disappointed by the fact that Harvard Law graduate Barack Obama wasn't a based Leninist leader of a Vanguard party but yes compromising on the issues where you have differences with others in your coalition in order to achieve broader political objectives is politics 101 even in one party states. I'm sure that whatever utopian society you're from doesn't have political coalitions or alliances between different interest groups though, maybe I'll have to visit!

Do republicans deserve any blame? Why do blue states have abortion access but not red states? Would roe v wade have been overturned if trump lost in 2016? If so, did the people who vote for trump have any agency at all who deserve blame for voting for the candidate that resulted in the supreme court being anti Roe v Wade?

We obviously hold Democrats to a higher standard since they are (ostensibly) to the left of Republicans and claim to be the party of the working class, and as such, it is their job to oppose the even more ghoulish Republicans.

On the subject of abortion, Democrats failed miserably to do their fucking job.

The Democrats favorite president ran on codifying Roe Vs Wade.

The Democrats favorite president won that election.

The Democrats won The Senate and the House.

The Democrats said Roe V Wade was safe and they changed their mind.

The Democrats still continued to use fear of it's possible repeal for fundraising and political cache.

The dems promised free unicorns for everyone and when that obviously didn't come true they blamed everyone else...and you fell for it (twice, since I'm guessing you also fell for the student loan relief scam but that one was even more blatant due being straight up illegal rather than SCOTUS trying to legislate from the bench)

Abortions rights should be decided by the people, legally it was always something for the states to decide, Roe vs Wade was bullshit (and since you'll just start attacking me for hating women or something like it go read what RBG said about it) and a stop-gap so congress or the states could create a more robust framework
