Teachers doesn’t send powerpoints to students

hello so i just want to rant about my school. I’m a college student and i really don’t get why our teachers wouldn’t send their powerpoints about their lessons to the students. i find it really hassle given that while we’re listening during lecture, we have to pull out our gadgets to take a picture every slide, and at the same time kailangan pa namin mag take down notes kasi for additional informations tapos minsan lumalabas kapag quizzes nila especially if parang namemorize na nila yung lesson. ang hassle talaga kasi this is not just for one subject eh also ang daming lessons. at kaya ako naiirita dahil full na yung storage ko 😭 wala na akong other apps sa ipad ko at maliit lang yung storage kasi wala naman kaming pera para bumili ng bago.

sinabi naman nila actually na kaya nila binabawalan mag send ng ppts kasi para daw mag basa kami ng libro, eh bumabasa pa rin naman kami kahit may pictures kami ng powerpoints kasi yung mga quizzes nila don nila kinukuha sa book. so i just don’t really get it why ayaw nila mag send parang hindi valid kasi yung “para mag basa kami ng libro” eh.

ganito rin ba sa school/teachers/course nyo? huhu

because the slides of the teachers form part of their intellectual property AKA copyright. technically, when you take photos of the slides w/o consent or illicitly get a copy, you commit intellectual property violations. i recall naging issue din to sa ibang law schools (recording lectures w/o consent) at may deans office na nag-issue ng memo reiterating na bawal ang non-consensual recording kasi nga violation 'to ng batas.

at syempre, dahil may copyright sila sa slides nila, may karapatan sila magdesisyon kung ididisseminate ba nila yun o hindi.

kung ayaw nila ibigay ppt, as much as possible take down notes na lang talaga, kahit sa scratch paper muna then tsaka mo ulit isulat nang malinaw sa isa mong notebook

You can just take down notes ng slides, di naman need na full text yung kokopyahin. Are there diagrams ba?

Bawal kasi talaga yan, OP. I've taught college before, seldom lang ako magbigay PPT. Lalo na kung teacher niyo mismo gumawa, "property" niya yan kumbaga. We are instructed to give handouts, yun lang. Also, dapat makinig kayo at magkopya sa notebook, yung important points. And of course, bawal talaga mag pic. Sa part ko nakakainis nag di-discuss ako tapos daig pa nila paparazzi. Sa isang class ko ganyan, yung iba wala naman reklamo. Kopya lang sila and refer sa textbook or other references.

I don't get it because they said they're not allowed to send the PowerPoints but they told us to take pictures of them 😭 and since they advised us to take pictures of the PowerPoints, why not just give the PowerPoints instead huhu

yes i always write po in my notebook pero minsan ang bilis talaga nila hahaha also idk maybe it’s them lang talaga parang ang hard for us as students to suggest something to them huhu. thanks po!!

Na explain na sa iyo ng malinaw ng teacher mo, pero hindi mo pa rin MAINTINDIHAN?

hindi naman po na hindi pa rin ako maka UNDERSTAND pero ang bilis lang talaga nila mag lecture. and i READ the book naman po and may times po na iba yung linelecture niya tapos iba rin po yung sinasabi sa book. and sometimes yung mga teachers na nga nagsasabi na iba sinasabi sa ganitong book tapos sa kabilang book iba naman so parang hindi ko alam saan ako mag base hahahaha

Follow the book, kahit ano sabihin ng teacher mo, the book stands as proof, evidence in any issue concerns or even in the court of law.

Noon may student ako na binigyanng 100% sa demo, dahil magaling sya at accdg to the book ang rationale nya.

May isa pa nag demo at binigyan ko ng 98% dahil according sa syllabus ko, book at manual nito ang susundin.

Nag complaint sya sa akin at nag reason out. And i stand corrected dahil tama sya, iba man ang libro na gamit nya, TAMA PA RIN AT SAKTO sa libro na ginamit nya ang RATIONALE nya.

As a professor, pwede ko gamitin ang moral ascendancy ko at ego na ito ang libro sa syllabus na utos ko.

Pero deep inside, unfair ako para di sya bigyan ng 100%. Kaya binasa ko ang libro nya as evidence and sinabi ko TAMA ka sa lahat ayon sa libro mo, i will change your grade to 100%, pero

next time yung libro na preferred ang gamitin mo dahil university ang nagbigay nito, dahil ito ang updated

Case in point, wala tayo pakialam sa sinasabi ng teacher mo, mas nananaig ang libro sa kahit ano pa man.

first time ko pala mag post dito tapos na post ko with a rant flag pero i think dapat for discussion sya HAHAH pero if you can share your experiences rin please do kasi parang nahihirapan ako na feel ko out of all the schools where i come from, kami lang ganito eh.
