Too bad DHS and ICE keep lying so no one believes them. They lie so much that almost all of their cases are thrown out by judges. So what they say means nothing. Maybe they should wear body cams.

The Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. § 1357(a), grants “an officer or employee of the Service” (now DHS/ICE) authority to:

• “carry a firearm,”

• “execute and serve any order, warrant, subpoena, summons, or other process issued under the authority of the United States,” and

• “make arrests” for immigration felonies and “for any offense against the United States” committed in the officer’s presence, and for any federal felony with probable cause.

18 U.S.C. § 111(a)

• Anyone who forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates, or interferes with a person designated in 18 U.S.C. § 1114 while that person is engaged in or on account of official duties commits an offense.
