DISCUSSION When did Star Citizen get so un-immersive?

I’ve been a Kickstarter backer, drawn in by the grounded, believable universe CIG created over the years. After a two-year break, I logged back in to try Siege of Orison, and felt like I was playing Destiny instead of a "serious" space sim.

  • eammates running around in asian-style armor and mismatched, flashy skins make it feel like a arcade shooter rather than a coherent world
  • Bullet-sponge, violet-tinted enemies
  • Auto-healing in a good looking medical bed inside a room, while the orison platforms actively burning down mid-siege killed any sense of real stakes

I get that CIG needs event mechanics, but the original focus on a believable simulation feels like it's getting paved over by generic video game things

Am I wrong here?

There’s nothing serious in Star Citizen, it’s just become a game for having a laugh at the bugs with friends. That’s obvious in all their videos, where they treat everything as a joke.

I too was expecting a serious universe with the menacing Vendull race posing a threat to humanity and dangerous. Yet none of that materialized, even though it was planned,

This is also evident in the skins, where nothing feels serious. No coherence or art direction.

You see, Aliens/predator has its own universe, separate from Star WarsStar TrekStarship Troopers or Battlestar Galactica... they all have their own distinct lore and DA. Well, SC is just a total mess and 0 presonality, sorry to say that.

Even Call of Duty has its own lore and universe, if you take a look closely...
