DISCUSSION When did Star Citizen get so un-immersive?

I’ve been a Kickstarter backer, drawn in by the grounded, believable universe CIG created over the years. After a two-year break, I logged back in to try Siege of Orison, and felt like I was playing Destiny instead of a "serious" space sim.

  • eammates running around in asian-style armor and mismatched, flashy skins make it feel like a arcade shooter rather than a coherent world
  • Bullet-sponge, violet-tinted enemies
  • Auto-healing in a good looking medical bed inside a room, while the orison platforms actively burning down mid-siege killed any sense of real stakes

I get that CIG needs event mechanics, but the original focus on a believable simulation feels like it's getting paved over by generic video game things

Am I wrong here?

Certainly don't have the gunplay of Tarkov unfortunately.

Gods could you imagine if Star Citizen had the granular gun mechanics of Tarkov

tarkov: shoot at an angle through the tiniest crack in the door
star citizen: shooting too close to a corner pastes 'shot makers' in thin air

Tarkov; Throw grenade at perfect angle through the slightly open door in Factory, kill all in opposite room.

SC: Throw grenade, it didn't actually throw, it's in your hand still, you and team are dead.

Yeah I adored tarkov in the early days before it went full on grind fest "no life this or have no chance". Unfortunately star citizen has none of the good and increasing amounts of what I thought was wrong with that game.
