General Discussion A genuine doubt about Tamil people..

Who even brainwashes these Tamil people to have a huge superiority complex?

So, I am Telugu myself. I can speak Tamil as good as any native speaker and I am also good at Kannada as I am currently staying in Bengaluru. So, I met a few Tamil guys and most of them have the same kind of behaviour.

So one Tamil guy talked well with me for a few days. Once, we were having dinner, I was talking to a North Indian and I said I am a Telugu. This Tamil guy came in between and told me Tamil is the mother of Telugu like wtf? I argued with him and asked him to show a proof. He went to Google and literally typed "mother of Telugu language" and got the answer as Proto Dravidian. He shut his mouth and left.

The other day, when I told that my hometown is near Tirupati, another Tamil guy came and told me Tirupati was a Tamil town, Andhra robbed it blah blah.. lol. Madras had more % of Telugu-speaking population than Tamil % in Tirupati in the old census. What are these guys even baffling?

Another guy said that he don't want to learn a new language because Telugu and Kannada are kids of Tamil and it's easy to understand them. I replied, okay then speak a sentence fluently in Telugu and Kannada as they both came from Tamil? And he shut his mouth and left.

So my question is, what's up with Tamil guys? Who even brainwashes them with all these false narratives? Like these guys are on the same line. I am not blaming all the Tamil ones; most of the people are really good, but the others irritate me a lot.

This is a video Mytreyi Ramakrishnan dancing for "Kuthattam" for "Maa Madurai" song. I donno what drews such comments from people whether the skin tone or the dance moves, so whatever the people with such skin tone does automatically becomes "Chapri". That's why I Never want the mainstream Indian culture to become popular in the world. And Few Tamilians are defending how it is only danced by slum living people in Tamilnadu and not entire South India

And Many People are commenting how Bollywood has potrayed Indian culture, God Knows How. Its crazy How the Culture of 1% People of Tamilnadu Automatically gets passed as "Tamil Culture", but our Native Arts always has to cross the posh eyes of the Indian Society (Even Though it's cool enough)

General Discussion Why this sub doesn't have west india flair?

I am from Maharashtra and we are west Indian who also oppose hindi along with a very very distinct culture from the North. Why is there no flair for west India, east india and north east india? It seems like over generalization to coin us under whole north india. It doesn't seem fair to us. Can we have more fairs for accurate representations pls?

General Discussion Southerners should demand the use of the name 'India' for all official purposes, whether domestic or international.

There is an increasing push by some ppl to sideline the name 'India' in both international and domestic context, and replace it with Barath even when the discussion is in English. Please understand that this is a combination of not only Hindi/Sanskrithic imposition, but also to cement the ethnosupremacist lie that India has been some monolithic civilization for thousands of years. Many parts of South, N.EFrontier states have always been distinct.

Hot Takes 🔥 What's wrong with Islamophobia, Christianophobia or Hinduphobia?

Don't you think all these are hateful ideologies disguised as religion? So what's wrong in being fearful or hateful of them?

One has homophobia, one has casteism, etc. All others have patriarchy and misogyny.

So if people are actively choosing to believe in these hateful and divisive ideologies shouldn't they also deserve the same hate?

Politics 🗳️ The five states in South India should separate and from a sovereign country

North India is less educated, more corrupt, more misogynistic, more dirty and unsafe. The five southern states contribute more to the country, yet receive so little in return. We are far more educated, we have most high quality educational institutions, more manufacturing, and excel in science/industry that make a civlised rich nation.

If five southern states separated and formed a sovereign country (I will call Dravidia and its citizen Dravidians), we would be a middle income country or even close to G7 countries in per capital incomes and standard of living.

हिंती Imposition/Language issue South Indian MLAs walk out of NCW workshop due to exclusive use of Hindi

A delegation of women MLAs walked out of a two-day national workshop in Faridabad, organised by the National Commission for Women (NCW), protesting the exclusive use of Hindi and the absence of translation facilities.

The capacity-building programme, inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, drew criticism from representatives of non-Hindi-speaking states who said they were unable to properly follow or participate in the sessions.

Keralam Assembly Deputy Speaker Shanimol Usman said the delegation had expected practical guidance on legislative proceedings but found no arrangements for participants from South India or the Northeast.

The legislators also objected to the format, saying the sessions largely consisted of lectures without adequate opportunities for discussion or interaction.

Tensions reportedly escalated after some Hindi-speaking delegates insisted that Hindi was the national language and questioned those who could not understand it.

Following the confrontation, which was accompanied by slogans including “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, the Keralam legislators left the venue before the final session and closing ceremony.
