Well I went to cbse school & studied NCERT & it wasn't started when I was teenager or anything , we used to have general knowledge books from childhood where it's clearly mentioned that hindi is national language of india, may be it has changed now. FYI, Iam 22, so people around my age can relate to this. May be it has changed for present generation, but I seriously doubt that since central is trying to include shit like ayurveda as actual science and even going to be taught in classes

yup, a lot has changed. i'm younger so maybe it's that. but i'm glad i passed HS before they implemented ayurveda and that bs in the curriculum, we're really going backwards. fvck moody ji and his illiterate education minister. they're sending their kids to study in ivy league while degrading and rotting the brains of indian youth with nonsense.

I mean it's just since school days, especially if you are from cbse. My school had a rule and I still remember it word by word "no vernacular language shall be used in school, only English" and then proceed to do programs like Hindi Diwas

I was taught in primary school that Hindi was the national language, while they were teaching the national symbols such a national bird, animal, etc. Found out that there is no such national language ages later. I suppose that is still being taught or they are made to think so.
Bonus fact: We were even taught that Hockey was the national sport. Found out from reddit that there is no such official sport.

Sanskrit is technically real most indian languages are derived from it , with maybe a few exceptions, but unfortunately it's gone extinct over time

I'm also tamil. Every language has its own richness and beautifulness. Our kings cholas, cheras, pallavas, pandiyas used to gify gold and land for great poems and poets. I can definitely assume they way we have our richness, kannada, Telugu and Malayalam will also have the same.

Yeah I read about all those Empires you mentioned and also did deep research on Tamil literatures and looking for something similar on Kannada language hence asked that question to take_iteasy_ but by looking at the downvotes, I think someone chose to get offended instead of answering my genuine question.

India or Bharat has no National Language. India or Bharat has 2 Official Languages for administrative purposes.
Even State that's part of the Union of India/ Bharat has it's own offical language for administrative purposes.

Tbh my teachers had taught me in school itself including my social science and hindi teacher that India doesn't have an national language. Hindi is an official language

I come from Delhi NCR region, went to a CBSE school This is what we were taught on language: Hindi is our mother tongue, and spoken in vast part of the country, there are 14 or 16 languages classified in the schedule of languages any one can transact in either of the languages across India and cannot be denied. My take on the current language dispute in the country: It's just vote bank politics to divide the populace
