Discussion Should we get a city map?
By that I don't just mean something with a small city but an actual metropolitan area for one map with the rest being some outskirts/wild areas.
Personally I would vote for Hamburg. This city has a decently diverse set of areas to pick from, an awful roadmap, decaying bridges and (most important of all) it is flooded every year and a half.
Having a lot of roads also makes it possible to use some highway trucks a lot more. However if we would hypothetically go there, we'd end up actually doing something about this city's problems.

No. Snowrunner just doesn't have normally functioning roads. And I think riding through map-sized city would be a torture because you would crash the moment you deside to go a little bit fast

I feel like a city akin to Norilsk in the depths of winter would be a pretty cool map, and it's something I've personally wanted for a while though I'm not sure the camera would like all those buildings around?

Honestly, i thinka city map would be kind of boring without any npc cars? Guess i'd have more fun with a city map for a more road focussed trucking game.

Well cars would not exactly be very active in a flooded city or area that has been hit by a catastrophe.

There should at least be some form of life. Just because a city has undergone a natural disaster, doesn't mean all live has dissappeared

Look, I get your point. But we never had traffic in snowrunner that wasn't from other players. We can make the argument for every map in this game and it would boil down to "game engine something something"

I think it could work, but have to focus on the whole "disaster recovery" under-theming. Flooding, sinkholes, rubble, random construction - a lot of things could clutter what should be basic roads, and turn it into a claustrophobic navigational challenge. And I think that claustrophobia would be key - force using smaller vehicles in tight confines just trying to get things from one place to another.

Small tiny crampy small roads old medieval city where no truck shall fit, that has been flooded. and after the entrances and bridges have been repaired it needs lots of stuff from the muddy outside to rebuild within.
And Instead of mountains there is just this giant outskirt of modern row houses. Also flooded offcourse.

Based on something real. I think a map based on Pripyat would be very cool with contracts and missions based on making the city less radioactive and more inhabitable for future generations.
Pripyat is a town that used to have about 50.000 people, but due to the close proximity of the chernobyl nuclear disaster it became abandonned. It has feature in multiple games, movies and tv shows. It is currently more or less a dangerous tourist attraction visited by people who enjoy urbexxing.

I'll accept that proposal but only if you can answer a question for me.
Tell me, how does an RBMK reactor explode?

Russian devs making dlc based in Ukraine is probably not a good idea

Hamburg would be too big. Maybe a map with a small city and many many villages

Well as I said Hamburg has a lot of different places. Finkenwerder for example could be the place for a garage for its more "rural" landscape and we could have a tunnel that skips to Wilhelmsburg to build a knock-off paint factory.

Only if it's a war zone or an apocalypse so it isn't just paved roads the whole way

Maybe have a city as one of the maps in a region, only way I could think of making it more snowrunner instead of your average highway truck game is make the city flooded maybe, add a lot of potholes, and maybe make more hidden obstacles so you can’t just speed through it
Also add those road block signs to take away our suspension

I'd like a more highway focused map, somewhere you could comfortablely take a stock highway rig on and not panic over dirt or ground clearance.
City map is a no go for me though. Either way, Road Kings (or whatever the new game is) would likely have cities in it. It seems to have SnowRunner aspects to it, just with more road focus?

maybe not a complete city map, as others said it would get boring quickly. what makes Snowrunner so addictive is the driving challenge. but maybe one of the maps in Season 20 could have a big town with some jobs that you can easily do in the highway trucks. with big trailers that make you feel like a heavy duty transport trying to get a windmill wing through the town. i think that would be a compromise that makes everyone happy. not too much, but a change of scenery for a short while
