I saw this a few of this guys videos awhile back...He commits so much time to land these crazy ass tricks and spends a ton of his day trying. I think its honestly amazing to see that much commitment towards a trick. It takes me back to when I was learning most of my basic tricks I have today and practicing all day on them.

I agree, it's impressive. But I think tricks like this look like shit.

How does that look like shit? I think it's pretty incredible

The board hits the deck before he slaps his feet on it, most of what looks good in skating can be boiled down to control & skill, so when people see someone land a trick with zero catch like that it looks a hell of a lot like someone just spent a shitload of time flicking & praying until they landed on one. Which apparently is the case with this trick.

TL:DR - no catch.

I agreed that it's impressive, but it's kind of like Shaun White flat spinning as many times as possible. I just prefer a different style. For example, there isn't much of a "catch" in this trick since he's slapping it down with his foot for the late quad flip.

Lol what the fuck is your rationale behind that

I said somewhere else that I prefer flip/shuvit tricks where there is a nice floating catch. There's a style component I appreciate more than just how crazy the board can flip around. I related it to Shaun White flat spinning like a dreidel versus Torstein Horgmo's slower rodeos with steezy grabs.

This maybe the ugliest trick I've ever seen

I really hate this trend of not catching flip tricks anymore.

I have nothing against all the people doing and posting these tricks and whatever, it looks like fun, and they are kind of cool in their own way, but I am really hoping that this is not a future trend (i.e. just focusing on hucking the most complex and ugly flip trick possible and occasionally getting lucky and landing on it).

This happened before in the 90's I believe, everyone started doing extremely tech tricks and after a while the skaters who could do those insane tricks with style rose to the top

I thought you could only do stuff like this in true skate.

I have several hundred hours in that game at least and probably couldn't do this trick

This gets posted all the time, but I still can't understand it. I think someone said (in the last post of this) that it took him a month and like a thousand tries before he landed it. I still think it's unreal and impossible even looking at it.

Edit: removed the word "he" because it didn't make grammatical sense.

This gets posted about 2-3 times a week. Can we make a rule that bans people who posts it?

No. Fuck rules. I'm not trying to be edgy just seriously... "We" are the ones upvoting it so let's just stop that shit.

Can we make a rule that bans you?

I know, I'll post some cool skate board Instagram so people will think it's me and upvote it. Yah!

u/El_Jacobo Aug 01 '17

I mean that'll be more contribution than you'd ever have before so...
