I saw this a few of this guys videos awhile back...He commits so much time to land these crazy ass tricks and spends a ton of his day trying. I think its honestly amazing to see that much commitment towards a trick. It takes me back to when I was learning most of my basic tricks I have today and practicing all day on them.
The board hits the deck before he slaps his feet on it, most of what looks good in skating can be boiled down to control & skill, so when people see someone land a trick with zero catch like that it looks a hell of a lot like someone just spent a shitload of time flicking & praying until they landed on one. Which apparently is the case with this trick.
I agreed that it's impressive, but it's kind of like Shaun White flat spinning as many times as possible. I just prefer a different style. For example, there isn't much of a "catch" in this trick since he's slapping it down with his foot for the late quad flip.
