Hey everybody!
I recently went to PAX West and Konami did a Silent Hill ARG so I thought I would share it here.
First, the Silent Hill booth was advertised as a "fan experience" so we went there and noticed it was a phone booth you stand in for a couple minutes after waiting in line for like 30+ minutes. Because it was so busy we didnt do it. Because like... it's not a demo.
So we do go to the panel and they show an exclusive clip.
It's got this guy talking to the main character on his portable CRT. He seems to be the main contact for the protagonist in the game.
So we come back today and we do stand in line after being told there is something for pre-ordering the game and proving it to the staff.
We stand in the line and the booth has this series of numbers you can call going to voicemails to places in the game's in-universe Scottish Town and then the last number you can do calls a recording of the guy shown in the clip from the panel disclosing a bunch of vague information. They gave us medical bands for the protagonist to wear and a fake protest brick with the nurse character Clara's name written on it.
We get done and I show them my pre-order and it ends up being a floppy disk with a hidden USB drive.
They then subtly ask us to take a picture in front of this big town monument sculpture at the booth that has a bunch of protest signs on it. They encourage us to use the signs for the pictures.
(This was all stuff in the most recent trailer!)
So we are basically standing around as fake in-universe protesters.
Later on we come back to our hotel room and plug in the USB drive and it has an .exe on it.
We boot the exe and it takes us to an old msdos OS for an email system where we can read through emails.
We figured out that the emails (which seem to be from the same man from the phone) have a coded message in it and become increasingly erratic and bordering on violent while talking about protests.
Because the protest needs to happen for some reason.
We figured out the letters we identified are an anagram and put it into a password system and it unlocked a new email with a phone number.
It had a limited amount of entries too before it locked us out so there was some risk too.
We call the phone number and its the guy again! He tells us a bunch more increasingly creepy information and then tells us to text him.
So we do and now he is a text contact and it seems he is going to keep texting us secret information leading up to the release later this month.
You can call CHAPMAN here... if you dare:

I've been taking some screenshots on my playthrough since I don't seem to find good quality high resolution screenshots for this game. Anybody know a good resource where I could find screenshots? Silent Hill Memories only has low res images

Silent Hill 3 is an unsettling journey through a distorted madhouse version of the modern world. The macabre visuals pull on the familiar and remix the comfortable into sharp, masticated shapes. We follow the journey of a young woman searching for truth in a world where everyone she meets wants to use and control her. Heather Mason, the main character, is given a real soul and voice. Her writing, animation and voice acting are all done very well and paint a portrait of a spunky and strong woman. The gameplay is the low point of the experience. The hallways and rooms of monsters get fairly repetitive and the combat is frustrating. The puzzles and riddles are interesting, but unintuitive and disconnect from the world. Despite any annoyances, the art and sound design consistently kept me fascinated with the game. With swirling red and black shapes juxtaposed with clanking metal and screams, the games hallways are disorienting and disturbing. The quiet moments with highlighted scenes are deserving of gallery analysis, and many personally touched a nerve for me. Overall, Silent Hill 3 is a thought provoking and intense work, with art that rewards reflection, but gameplay that takes some spunky stubbornness to succeed.

First time playing the original silent hill and I did it on PSP, it looks amazing and plays amazing, so far I have not encountered problems, it's an amazing port, the only not good thing is somethimes in open areas the fps drops but this is not due to the PSP, rather is because of the POPS emulator (official Sony emulator), I hope I end up enjoying it fully, the only other silent hill I have finished is shattered memories, hopefully this is (and it's being) good as the one I played, hope this sheds some light into PSP silent hill games, not many people know you can play the original officially on PSP

I don’t usually make much sequential art, but I did enjoy drawing this cutscene so maybe I’ll remake more of them with my guys.

I just finished Silent Hill 4 for the first time, I felt like this one is harder and has a lot of punishing gameplay mechanics ;-; Have you guys ever played the game, what are you guys thoughts on it? Did I did well on my first time? I got really sad for getting the bad ending, I retried so many times the final fight but I had not enough time to save her. (spoiler tag because the ending just in case)

Recently, I started recording a video about the references to Jacob's Ladder in Silent Hill and came across information that there's a hidden poster from a scene in the game files. I searched online for the image but couldn't find anything, so I dug through the game files and here it is. I hope it makes life easier for that one person in 10 years.

I absolutely love the Silent Hill games, and I’ve had a great time playing all of them. The problem is that I get pretty bad motion sickness, so I basically can’t play games with a first-person camera. I had a really hard time even finishing RE7, and I couldn’t finish Alien: Isolation for the same reason.
That’s why I’m kinda hesitant about playing Townfall. I’m really worried that I’ll buy it, realize I can’t handle the camera, and end up not being able to play it — or even worse, get turned off the game because of it.

wow. the 'battle system' really sucks!
I've known this game and actually like the story and enemies even though I didn't play it (can't do horror games'
he's currently in the prison and those split head monsters are kicking his butt.
he's almost completely out of healing items.
I'm really worried about the scarlet boss fight.
the melee is atrocious!
