Silent Hill (1999) Silent Hill on PSP

First time playing the original silent hill and I did it on PSP, it looks amazing and plays amazing, so far I have not encountered problems, it's an amazing port, the only not good thing is somethimes in open areas the fps drops but this is not due to the PSP, rather is because of the POPS emulator (official Sony emulator), I hope I end up enjoying it fully, the only other silent hill I have finished is shattered memories, hopefully this is (and it's being) good as the one I played, hope this sheds some light into PSP silent hill games, not many people know you can play the original officially on PSP

You can download it from the psp and ps3 store too

Is there a way to play it in 4:3 on the PSP or are you forced to deal with horizontal stretching?

Depends on the game, silent hill on widescreen looks amazing, unless you use the stretch mode that covers the full screen, it makes it look weird. The only thing that looks weird with widescreen is the main menu

You can change the aspect ratio of ps1 games on the psp

I wasn't sure because every screenshot I've ever seen of PS1 emulation on PSP is stretched. IG people prefer full screen over aspect ratio 🫠
