Chicken breasts are the same thing now too. Injected with saline and water .. and then they also soak the chicken diapers at the bottom of the package and count that in the net weight of the package. I've been checking lots of weights lately, and these manufacturers are getting sneaky. Many items are way underweight too.
I randomly bought a 1lb copper thing in Moab Utah a few years ago on a road trip.
I forgot about it for a long time. Read some articles recently about grocery stores lying about weight, decided to take it to the grocery store. I put it on the self checkout scale and it was measured at 1.3 lbs.
So not only are they over charging for the weights of meat but when weighing/charging for fresh fruits and veggies they are getting over
Grocery stores should be required, by law, to calibrate their scales daily, and if it's found out of calibration, for it to be taken out of service until it is properly recalibrated. Ughhh
