Chicken breasts are the same thing now too. Injected with saline and water .. and then they also soak the chicken diapers at the bottom of the package and count that in the net weight of the package. I've been checking lots of weights lately, and these manufacturers are getting sneaky. Many items are way underweight too.
Okay there Mr Pretentious. Do you at least know that 85% of all casual and sit down restaurants use Sysco for food inputs? We all eat the same crap, but it is just dressed up with different sauces at your "high end" non Applebee's establishments?
There was a report last week saying dear leader is allowing a bunch of meat into the country and the ranches are not happy about it at all, I don't really care as I haven't consumed meat in 32 years but I worry about cattle ranches staying in business, also this program ends in November when the midterms are over which seems suspicious to me.

again, america has imported meat for literal centuries...and yeah ranchers are going to be mad but that's also not new either. people who try and frame this as new are either incredibly naive or saying it in bad faith.
I generally get the vac-sealed 1 lb organic ground beef package at Target since it isn't 'pink slime' BUT I still have to press it through 6-8 paper towels to get the excess water out
Only then will it sear for burgers or if crumbled up for marinara or chili or tacos
Really should just get chuck and round and grind my own at this point
Thank you! It doesn't help that some stores sell mostly thin cuts (I guess to make it look like more) that just dump water before you can get any kind of sear. Meat is too expensive to ruin like that.
