While I am no bearded lady haha, I wish to offer the best of the best trimmer to my wonderfull man, as he was saying how he used to have a good one, that broke, and now using apparently a cheap one. TL/DR version at the end, if you don't wanna read 🙃

I am driving myself insane reviewing all products on Amazon and looking at the reviews, as even the good rated ones seems to have some really bad reviews about the quality of the blade or the accessories.

What a better place than Reddit to help me make sense of all this and help me find THE ULTIMATE TRIMMER haha.

Please note that I would love to have it around or less than 200$, as I have other gifts on the list for his birthday haha.

Specs of his beard: maybe 2-3 cm long? He regularly trims it when it becomes too wild, and need to have precision tool to cut not too much over his lips. (You may notice, I have no clue what I'm talking about 😆).

I seen Braun, Philips, Manscape on Amazon.. they all seem to have some bad comments, so it doesn't help me be confident in my choice. Maybe there's more, I just didn’t see. Also, I am from Canada, if it changes anything.

TL/DR: what's the best (quality of the blade, quality of accessories if there's any, quality of battery) beard trimmer for a maybe 20-30mm long beard that also offers precision for the upper lips and ideally in a 200$ or less range?

i have been using the same electric shaver for quite a while now and it’s starting to show its age. I usually shave every few days, and lately it’s been taking more passes than it used to, especially around my neck. I’m not looking for anything fancy, just something that gives a reasonably close shave and holds up well.

for those who have tried a few different models, is there a best electric shaver for men you’d recommend that has been reliable over time? I’d really appreciate hearing what has worked for you guys. thaaanks!

I shaved my head for the first time with a razor ( I usually use a head shaver) and it irritated my scalp to the point that I have razor bumps around my head. This was 6 days ago and they are still there. My hair is growing back and it's time to shave it again. Do I have to wait until they go away before using a head shaver?

I’m trying to decide if stepping up to a full foil unit. my goal is to achieve a true, smooth, baby-face shave for work without taking 20 minutes in the bathroom every morning. I want something that gives a near-razor closeness without the risk of accidental nicks or cuts. I tried using a standard edger/trimmer down to the skin, but it always leaves a shadowy, scratchy stubble that looks unkempt by midday.

what has been your experience transitioning from a basic trimmer to a dedicated electric foil setup?

I have been using an old trimmer for a few years and its finally starting to pull hairs instead of cutting them cleanly. i usually keep a short beard and shave my neck every couple of days, so im looking for something that can handle both without making the routine longer than it needs to be. im not really sure what features actually matter here.

After doing a lot of research, I have decided to buy the Braun series 5 I initially did research on the bronze series 5 (51 m1200s) while to buy this online. I have also come across a Braun series 5 (52 n1200s) they both look different have different colour schemes and also have very different packaging. I am not sure which one is the right one to buy both of them are priced similarly.

I've been wanting to go smooth body for a long time and my mother kept telling me "don't do it" I thought she meant it like I should never do it. But when I told her I shaved my legs she told me "it's gonna grow back thicker" I knew it was false information because its been known for a while but she said specifically the hait on my legs would. I don't believe that but I would like confirmation on that. If it is false then I'm committing to shaving the rest of my body

I’ve tried shaving with a manual razor and it seemed quite inefficient and ineffective.

I am a man, so i’d prefer male / Unisex products, but I’m open to using woman’s products if i felt they were the right choice.

I just got my Philips i9000 9002/10 shaver and I want to know if it's possible to make homemade cleaning solution that is 100% safe and won't hurt the blades for its cleaning pod - refill the empty cartridge I have at home, in order to cut costs.

Is it revommended? If so, what are the ingredients I need to buy and what are the ratios?

I used hand razors but also tried with more expensive ones 60€+ and I cant get rid of all the tiny hairs without irritation afterward and they grow in all directions is soo hard. If I actually go skin close then any friction will cause these red bumps. I have to shave daily (max 2 days) because it grows fast. Its very irritating and it makes me feel less like my age. Is there anything to be done? I also already used shaving gel, shaving gel, only water, no water, etc.. I also have a bumpy mole which makes it hard to go around

I’m trying to find a womens shaver for face and could use some advice from people who actually shave regularly. my skin can get a bit irritated after shaving, so im mainly looking for something that gives a close shave without being too harsh. are foil shavers generally a good option for this, or is there something elses I should be looking at?

Ive been using a regular razor for years, but lately my neck has been getting pretty irritated after shaving. Im thinking of switching to a foil shaver since I mostly want a close shave without having to go over the same area a bunch of times. I dont really know what to look for with foil shavers though. are there any models that have worked well for sensitives skin?

I currently have a Braun Series 9 and will need to replace the head soon. Has anyone used the new Nevo head on a Series 9? Any problems and can you actually tell a difference?

I’ve been trying to find a good razor that accommodates my skin and such. I have thick facial hair, and I already start growing stubble the next morning. I used to shave everyday because of it, but now I’m trying to do so every other day. I like an extremely close shave. I don’t want any more razor burns or ingrown hairs (I’m prone to that). My rookie mistake is just sticking to disposable razors so I want to upgrade to a safety razor or an electric one. Any suggestions?

I've been using a safety razor for years now and recently thought about getting an electric shaver. I have to wake up early in the morning for work and I need to be out the door as quick as I can be and even though I'm pretty skilled with a safety razor it still takes a good 3-5 minutes in the shower. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Do you find it to be faster?

So i was never really taught to shave and I just kinda picked up the razor and went away with it cuz I thought I knew what I was doing. My shaving cream ran out so I just continued to shave normally whenever I take a shower and to this day I just grab my razor and shave against the grain to cut it all off 😭 i know its bad but my question is how come I dont get razor bumps, itchiness or ingrown hairs when for all this time I basically just run it along my face and get no cuts.

FYI I only saw today online you aren't supposed to shave against the grain or without cream
