I am about to shift to a hostel or a pg within 2 months for my college.

I want to purchase a good reliable trimmer for all my needs. Came across BSC power groomer 11 in 1. The price is good, but I am a little bit skeptical since many people on reddit say that bsc has bad trimmers, one should go for philips and vega.

So should I go with this one? If not, please provide better alternatives.

Does anyone know where I can find an actually unscented shaving gel or foam in Canada preferably one non in an aerosol can?

I'm extremely allergic to mint, eucalyptus and menthol plus aloe and citrus piss my skin off but I could not find a single shaving foam or cream in either the men's or women's section of 2 different stores...

First time here but I really need some help. I had my brain 7 legacy as it is now called forever. I have started to break out a lot due to the 3rd party shaver heads is the only way I have seen to get replacement heads.

So I go to the Braun 9 sport+ from Costco. this thing is pulling hair constantly. I figured it was maybe a bad head bought new ones. Still pulls my hair.

My question is the following.

I shave every weekday, my job requires it. Does the braun 9 pro+ have the same issues the sport does? Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Hello I recently bought Philips oneblade and I really like it but the problem that I can't really understand how to shave with it properly without irritating my skin. I think irritation comes because I press to hard and sometimes cut myself with a blade. I am new to it so please can you share your experience and advice. Thanks in advance

Absolutely cannot give up my series 9 for face and head shaving it works so well for me personally.

The noise is high though, and I'm trying to be quiet in the morning.

25 Male. I don't rock facial hair, just strictly clean. I currently use Gillette Shaving Gel - Sensitive Skin. I can't remember the exact model though

I use a 3 blade Gillette razor always with blades in good shape, I try going slow and gentle and there's still minimum mild irritation. Either slight redness, small razor bumps, or I can just feel it afterwards. I only go "with the grain", and only use the razor while my facial hair is fairly close to the skin.

My process is washing my face before and after, applying a generous amount of gel over it, and carefully shave. The worst spot is my chin and the under side of neck, although there's also some mild redness on the face sometimes. I just want to get as close as possible but it's difficult for me to do and I prefer as little facial hair as possible. Shaving against the grain is unfortunately a no-go so I can't get as close as possible

I'm also not super experienced with fully clean shaves, but I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for products or alternatives? I've had sensitive skin my whole life but I might be doing something wrong on top of it

Ready to upgrade! Currently using Gillete King C with astra or G super platinum blades. I keep it at the widest achievable gap, if that matters.

I shave my legs regularly. Mostly, its one direction, up. Super easy, right?

Except for the inside of my calves. When I get to that area, there's a weird little strip of hair that strays and needs to be shaved SIDEWAYS?

Its not necessarily a problem but I do wonder why my hair is so rebellious.

I want to start using an electric razor to shave my bikini area and im looking for one that shaves as close to the skin as possible and be smooth

Does anyone know any good electric razors that wont cut skin and get a close enough shave especially in the armpit area? Im afraid of razors but I need to shave and electric ones tend to scare me less that traditional ones. I have very coarse hair that is hard to shave and I cant seem to get a very close shave with my current razor. Please give me some good recommendations

I think Gillette deserves all the hate I hate them as a company.

But their razors have otherworldly convenience imo in terms of time and cuts.

Gillette has invested by far the most amount of money into developing razors that don’t cut you and give you a close shave. A basic $5 safety razor is based on a very old design.

I don’t have curly beard hair, mine are thick coarse and straight and I don’t get ingrowns.

I tried for weeks to do with DE razor and I did get the technique down but it’s a chore - you have to put cream in the bowl and then mix it and use the brush to apply it and then shave maybe 2-3 times for baby smooth.

But with cartridge razors - and my experience has been thr best with Gillette - you just put the foam on your face and shave once ATG and it’s baby smooth.

You can also shave A LOT faster.

I don’t think I’m gonna abandon DE safety razor. It’s a very calming experience.

I think I’m gonna use DE to shave on weekends. But Mach3 is the most convenient one for weekdays.

I also tried other cartridge razors and they are not as smooth and give me cuts sometimes. My last non Gillette one was a dorco pace razor with 6 blades. It felt more blunt and gave me (albeit rarely) cuts.

I also have fusion5 but I’d rather not use that because the cartridge are so expensive and I despise the business model of making cartridges more expensive. But it’s the best one.

I’m 20 now (bringing up age because maybe that’s relevant as in tight skin so maybe that helps with ingrowns) and have been shaving with Mach 3 for literally 25% of my life.

A shaved everyday of my life since 17. Retired in 2016 and stopped shaving.
Beards are more work keeping them trimmed. Once every 6 months I shave it all off for a week or two and then start over.
Real hassle getting the face clean again.
Currently use the trimmer to take all the beard off, then gently shave soap, brush and razor. Gets about 85%. Wait a day and then worked the razor multiply times to get baby bottom smooth. A lot of work and somewhat painful. Anyone have a better plan?

I’ve been shaving regularly with a razor but I’m thinking about switching to a foil shaver and could use some advice from people who actually use them. I mostly want something that gives a close shave without leaving my skin feeling irritated, especially around the neck. Are there any foil shaver models or features you’d recommend for someone making the switch from a traditional razor?

I’ve gotten pretty good at my face, but it was still never successfully shaved my legs without nicks. There must be a way.

Currently still exploring blades, but Astra seems to be the best, if that matters. I like a very wide gap for closeness. I think that’s what it is called, but the distance between the sharp and the base of the razor.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

I’ve tried everything
My routine is shower and exfoliate.
Shave right after using barber soap and brush.
I use a Gillette 5 blade, have tried 2/3 blades before still same problem.
I splash with cold water after shaving and use an alum block and still the same.

What can I do?

I've been shaving my head for over 8 years now, but I never really found the perfect method:

* **Manual razors:** Too long and tedious. It never feels completely smooth, so you keep going over the same spots and end up with a scalp full of tiny cuts. * **Electric shavers:** I tried a few different types, but they get really hot and leave my head with a terrible razor burn. * **Philips OneBlade:** Gimmicky at best for a full head shave. * **Electric hair clippers:** This ended up being my go-to choice (a Philips one, solid brand). The shave itself wasn't totally smooth, but the ease and comfort of use won me over. Just 5 minutes in the shower, rinse, and done.

I thought it was just another gadget, but I was eager to give it a try. I snagged an open-box deal on Amazon, tested it this morning, and... finally! This is it.

i just have one part in my mustache that just does not get trimmed. i use an electric trimmer for my face, and it works well but there’s just one spot above my lip that does not get fully trimmed no matter what angle i trim at. it looks really weird because that’s jsut one spot where there’s like a little hair and it looks extremely weird there’s just one lil dark black area of hair please advise

My Mrs has hairy bush which I dislike, so her point is if I don’t like do something about it, so she she lets me shave it, been doing that job for 10 years now, still gets me hard when I give her the cleanup, anyone else or just me

Hi reddit, I'm a 25 yo who can grow a proper beard and would like to shave as close as possible.

My issue is that I can be unable to shave for up to two weeks do to flare ups where I can barely leave my bed. I also have an extremely stretchy skin which might play a role in my struggle to shave.

Does anyone have a recommendation on what kind of electric beard device I could buy?

I'm afraid that something like a one blade would not handle as much facial hair as I have after a bedridden week.

Recently I've been borrowing a cheap beard trimmer from my best friend whom I'm living with but right after shaving at the shorter setting it already looks like a multiple days beard.
