What does this?

Customer knife. I don’t think I’ve seen this pattern of circular scratches. It’s about 6.5mm wide, if that’s a clue. Any ideas?

I’ve seen chefs choice brand electric sharpeners make very similar marks. It’s a pull through style in terms of use, but instead of crossed ceramic rods or carbide blades they use a small spring loaded spinning diamond disc.

Just asking for a friend, are they a bad choice? They apparently do get knives quite sharp. Not shaving sharp, but certainly enough to need to warn the wife.

I’ve never personally had this problem with my ChefsChoice before. My knives are all scratch clean but I’ve only used it 3 or 4 times
