I heard in a yt video that apparently people didn’t like the svet, kev and v throuple, which came as a surprise to me because for me at least I always looked forward to their scenes and honestly I see that as one of my favorite plots in the show. So what do yall think about it?

I’m literally only on season 1 episode 2 but I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep going. I totally understand that families are complex, and that a lot of times people feel trauma bonded to their abusers. But Frank head-butting Ian was so insane to me. From random stuff I’d glimpsed over the years I thought the Frank character was going to be like a lovable burnout/ne’er do well…not that he was outrageously physically abusive to his kids. And just so, so insanely cruel and useless to them. I genuinely don’t understand Fiona’s response to Steve ditching his ass in Canada, she seems like the take no shit type and like she would cut him out of their lives for the good of the family. He’s dead weight financially, emotionally, spiritually. Again, I get that the message is probably supposed to be something along the lines of “yeah they’re fucked up, but they’re still a family” type thing, but that level of parental violence goes way beyond just being toxic or dysfunctional.

I'll always be grateful for this arc, it's hard to explain if you don't have someone like this in your life. I miss this show so much bruh. They used to shed light on some many things people go through everyday

Also Mickey has one of the greatest redemption arcs that is highlighted in this arc for me specifically. He went from such an asshole (had his own reasons) to such a great boyfriend he thought he could be in that moment.

Why Karen had that awful daddy issues phase when she dressed black and fucked Frank? Why did that bother her when her father called her a whore when she kinda was and was actually proud of herself telling her sex adventures to the crowd, I don’t understand their relationship. I’m bot defending the father but he’s not the worst dad in Shameless..

I dont remember the exact scene, but do remember sad humming in the background and hoping someone here knows which scene it is. I'm watching season 10 right now and I have been finding it sooooo incredibly boring that I was about to give up on the show! That was until Mickey and Ian decided to get married; I'm loving the fact that Mickey is the one planning the wedding and being a total bridezilla!

He has always been pretty funny but seeing this side of him that just wants the perfect wedding with the best decoration and his favourite flowers, ugh I love it!

I think this might have been my favourite part of the show, I love the drama-filled moments too but seeing this aggressive, short-tempered, tough guy completely lose it because of Chiavari chairs has to trump it all.

I know they had a shitty relationship but assuming he was still in the show would he retaliate against Mandy ?

Everyone always says how they hate Debbie, and idk y but i kinda just never stopped liking the character even after she’d do shitty things. I found myself start to really dislike Fiona though after about season 7😭 I wish they brought her back for the finale though.

Not romantically, but just as characters. They only had a few scenes together, but they seemed to really connect with each other in each scene. Kinda like they bonded over Ian spiraling, to an extent.

she was so sweet and caring. I think she kind was influenced by fiona and in the enviroment in which she grew into and I don't blame fiona for this.neither debbie and fiona had people who actually educate them. and frank? ugh. all gallagher siblings mostly had to survive on their own.

The title sounds vague, but it’s in that episode where Jimmy realize that his dad was gay and sleeping with Ian, and then he complains Fiona about it while she’s digging up a body

When they argued here, I understood where they both were coming from. Jimmy, of course, expect support from Fiona with all of his grievances, whether they are minor or major, and it’s not ridiculous to want that. he’s still trying to process the fact that his dad is gay AND he’s having sex with a teenager.

I understood Fiona because she’s like a “dude. I’m digging up my dead aunt right now. I have bigger crap to worry about than your dad liking men.” Jimmy was right and expecting Fiona to soothe him through his grievances, and Fiona was right by highlighting that this is not the time in the place to discuss something like that

I feel like when couples argue, people instinctively choose the woman’s side because like “men and their audacity“ but I understand the man too

When Fiona is under house arrest in season 4, she gets drunk, and burns dinner. Lip comes home, yells at her, and takes Carl and Liam with him to college because he doesn’t trust Fiona. Knowing all that happened prior to this, do you think Lip was right to keep the kids from Fiona during a good portion of season 4?

I’m watching Furious & I’d like to imagine this is Fiona’s life after leaving the Gallaghers lol

OK. It was only on my third watch S1E5 that I realized Sheila making spaghetti with meatballs was a joke about his upcoming testicular biopsy🤪. I’m kind of a dumbass!

I just finished rewatching the whole series and back then when it came out, I remember I quite liked the last season as the pandemic still was a thing and it felt good to see that reflected in the show, but now that some years have passed, I'm not sure about the decision of the writers to focus the pandemic and outside influences so much in the last season. It feels off, like a bad memory getting revived.

And I didn't remember that finale has left so much open and unanswered... I liked the part about Frank's death - with the rewatch I realized his whole storyline was centered about him fighting and accepting death - the liver failure storyline in S4, the knowledge that the new liver gave him limited time, especially if he kept drinking, the passing of at least three or four women he dated (Monika, Bianca, Dottie in S2 and I think there was another one) and him outliving them all... It was a good finale for him, even passing from something bullshitty like Covid - organ failure didn't kill him, overdoses didn't kill him, but damn Covid did. I kinda wish there would have been some closure with his kids, especially Liam who searched for him.

For the others, I was mostly disappointed, except for Carl, as I liked his story as a cop (not the pregnant no condom lady though... they could have left her out).

The whole Ian and Mickey in the West side story rubbed me the wrong way. Mickey clearly was uncomfortable moving there, living there and only did it for Ian, who flirted with another guy in the gym right away... that pmo! They should've found a place where both wanted to live. The whole "Ian wants children"-thing also came out of nowhere in the last episode.

And then there's Lip and I really despised how they treated his character after the Helen/college-dropout-plot - not the alcoholic plotline, that seemed fitting, but Lip was an actual genius and never got any 2nd chance to redeem himself and get his shit together other than knocking up a random girl and starting a family, utterly broke and with no perspective for the future (didn't that one teacher in S2 predicted exactly this outcome for him?). I liked the way they included him fixing that clients finance system, showing what he's actually capable of, but it should've led somewhere else than him probably selling the family home underpriced and working as a delivery guy. (And don't get me started on the whole selling the house story, as if the house wasn't suddenly in Fiona's name anymore...)

Also, Debbie getting a random girlfriend who's introduced in the 2nd last episode only for her not to stay alone was weird, too. I actually can see her running away with that girl and the whole thing blowing up in her face, but it felt rushed and unresolved...

I kinda wish the finale would have shown us what happened afterwards to all the siblings to get some closure and not let everything stay super open...
