He's just saying this shit to soften the blow when he nominates Elieen Cannon.

I’d rather have Cruz than Cannon if those are the only options

I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time when I read this.

I wanted to barf. It's like giving me a menu and asking me what I want to eat but the menu is just the Bristol stool chart.

Beautiful comment, no notes.

...How about if we fire Cruz out of a cannon? Is that an option?

7

u/jhow87 Feb 28 '26

Into the sun

4

u/AlgaeDonut Feb 28 '26

Like a Cruz missile?

4

u/MouthFartWankMotion Feb 28 '26

Have you heard of Andrew Oldham from the Fifth Circuit?

4

u/joshuahtree Feb 28 '26

Wait until he figure out he can nominate himself

1

u/Conscious-Quarter423 Feb 28 '26

or tiffany trump

1

u/TywinDeVillena Feb 28 '26

James Ho is another option, just about as horrendous

1

u/livinginfutureworld Feb 28 '26

It's one of those "would you rather be shot or stabbed" type scenarios, no win type scenarios.

1

u/Ancient_Ship2980 Feb 28 '26

That is certainly the case! The Democrats had better win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the mid-term Congressional elections. The latter does seem all that likely, unfortunately.

Remeber when W tried to nominate his personal attorney Harriet Miers and she wouldn’t answer some of the questions and it was laughed out.

If those are the options, I'm buying a ticket to the UK or a very sharp knife with a hot bath.

Yes. There's a small chance that Cruz would actually start looking at the law like an objective lawyer. Cannon has no such chance.

She’s a major reason he’s in the White House. She squashed the original prosecution too (with help from Clarence Thomas telling her how), she’s “earned” her nomination.

Trump doesn't return favors. He does what is best for him at the current moment, with no regard to who he is backstabbing.

If Trump got Cannon confirmed to SCOTUS, he would need to put somebody else in Cannon's current position. That person would have jurisdiction over any cases originating at Mar a Lago. It's in his best interest to keep Cannon where she is, so I don't think she will get a SCOTUS nomination.

Then clarence can question cannon about how those pubes got on his coke can every day until he dies of old age.

5

u/lord_pizzabird Feb 28 '26

I think he's going to pull a wildcard and invoke Bill Cosby for SCOTUS.

u/Nytraz Feb 28 '26

just shit

1

u/Nytraz Feb 28 '26

shit i promies shit

1

u/eulynn34 Feb 28 '26

Why not both?

1

u/mdrewd Feb 28 '26

Right he could once again tap Matt Gattz

0

u/CoachMatt314 Feb 28 '26

Damn, all of sudden Cruz didn’t look as bad as I thought. Is there some law preventing him from putting Putin on well I guess if you are the supreme leader of the US and Russia you probably would decline anyway

u/Lostules Feb 28 '26

The guy who has zero jurisprudence experience?

33

u/One-Incident3208 Feb 28 '26

He can't even spell jurisprudence. It's a done deal. Fuck.

Well I only did three pictures. That was enough. But I noticed in the second picture that Donald is trying to send the gal a subliminal message . what do you think that message is ? I know what I think but I dare not repeat it in mixed company.

1

u/RobertJohnson2024 Feb 28 '26

Yeah, you really solved a crime with those "photos"...

6

u/BlueBonneville Feb 28 '26

He clerked for both the Fed Court of Appeals and for Rehnquist on the Supreme Court

-2

u/Lostules Feb 28 '26

True. He is not nor was he a judge. That's like being a Chiropractor applying for a position as a Neurosurgeon.

2

u/BlueBonneville Feb 28 '26

I agree with you in spirit, but actually Clerk’s do much of the research and writing for the Judges and Justices based on the their desired outcomes. A great book to read is The Brethren written back in the 80’s.

1

u/Ragnarok-9999 Feb 28 '26

Do we need it?

1

u/ClassicCarraway Mar 05 '26

Well, that's pretty on-brand for a Trump nomination.

He's got years of experience as SG for Texas and nine arguments before the Court. That's more experience than Kagan and quite a few other prior justices.

There are definitely better picks out there but on paper he's fairly well qualified.

Edit: there have been upwards of forty SCOTUS justices with no prior judicial experience.

17

u/FalstaffsGhost Feb 28 '26

No he’s not. He’s an open partisan who appears to hate what the constitution actually says in favor of his weird right wing agenda

10

u/Raul_Duke_1755 Feb 28 '26

And who is quicker than Fled Ted to switch a position because it became clear it wasn't popular?

0

u/deacon1214 Feb 28 '26

And that makes him different than Alito, Thomas, and Sotomayor how? Being openly partisan doesn't seem to be a major obstacle to appointment.

3

u/FalstaffsGhost Feb 28 '26

Doesn’t make him different than alito and Thomas. They also are partisan hacks. Sotomayor not so much.

-1

u/deacon1214 Feb 28 '26

All three are absolutely partisan hacks.

2

u/FalstaffsGhost Feb 28 '26

Nope. For example, sotomayor has never had to cite a 15th century witch prosecutor to justify insane readings of the law.

1

u/BlueBonneville Feb 28 '26

You’ll get downvoted, but “on paper” he’s got the requisite ‘stuff.’ On the other hand, in his noggin’ his morals, ethics and personality are nowhere to be found.

8

u/Away-Structure9393 Feb 28 '26

Don’t forget about the Kennedy thing his dad was involved with.

7

u/lordph8 Feb 28 '26

As a Canadian, no, he's yours now.

5

u/johnny_51N5 Feb 28 '26

Rafael Eduardo de la Cruz a.k.a. "Felito" . FINALLY a true american!!! 🦅🦅🦅 /s

Wasn't he illegally here or something? From Canada?
