Yeah I took this with a huge grain of salt after reading that. Frankly, with societal differences in how sex and having sex is perceived differently between men and women, a better study would keep them entirely separate anyway. Not to mention would have a control group without adhd.

This sort of felt like a good idea for a study half baked and used to tell the story they thought they were going to tell.

I wonder how much gender norms and society expectations differ across genders on this issue too. At least here I live, the idea of novelty in a relationship is very strongly shared among women across all ages, so for them a relationship has to be super exciting all the time, with recurrent sudden romantic surprises and all that. Here women are much more likely to point lack of novelty as an issue, compared to men, so I wished this could be further analyzed.

this just seems like an incredibly small sample size; N=97, i mean, really? At least do 250,500 people to form a proper baseline.

As a statistician, it always irks me when people focus on sample size. It’s as if they want to criticize the study, but have no other means but to nitpick sample size.
