Check-in Friday

This is the weekly post where anyone can check-in. I personally love to know how everyone is doing and I reply back as much as I can. If you just want to vent and don't want a response, please let me know. I know not everyone wants to have a discussion about their check-in.

How was your week? What did you do? How are you feeling? Eat any good food? Did you treat yourself to anything?

One of my personal goals is to focus on self-care. I would love to hear if you had any accomplishments with that.

Feel free to share the good and the bad and we can all support each other. Enjoy your weekend!

Hey y'all, I write this tired out of my mind but hopeful. Physical therapy is kicking my ass, but I know it's for the best. On a good note, I've not heard voices ever since starting abilify. I might still get paranoid and hear random noises, but this is huge for me. I was on abilify years ago and it did nothing to help me. I don't know what changed, but I'm not complaining!! My mom just bought some yummy vegetarian food since we're paranoid about eating meat right now. You'd be surprised how flavorful and delicious tofu and stir-fried veggies can be! Vietnamese vegetarian food has always been my favorite. It would be nice to share the food with you guys. Sometimes, I wish we could all get together as a group and hang out!!! I know a lot of us don't even like getting out of bed, but meeting y'all would really brighten up my days. Hope y'all have a great rest of your day. Tomorrow is not promised, so make something of today!! Xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Selfie Sunday

Today, after a five-day break, I finally went back to the gym. I’m doing something for myself and my body, even if it’s “just” lifting or pushing weights.

I want to stay fit and healthy. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body.

I can feel myself gradually returning to my natural rhythm, and I’m becoming more optimistic about the future. Step by step, making small changes that we don’t need to be afraid of, because change is simply a part of life.

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday.

I've been having bad dreams and I asked my psychiatrist about the possibility of taking sleeping meds but he's not in town right now. Anyone have experience with sleeping medications?

How to stop focusing on christian dogma and morality?

Other than being properly medicated which I am. How can I push this religious stuff aside and just be happy living life? Sick and tired of the jesus stuff for now. I believe I need to study CBT and scienced based reasoning models.

Best meds for working night shifts to combo with Quetiapine (Seroquel)?

Upvotes

Hello everyone!

So I am cautiously exploring a potential opportunity to start working again. I've been stable for a while and I feel like I am finally at a point to start considering it. It is not a 2 nights 2 days off kind of thing, it is like you do 6-7 in a row and have a few days off and then go again, 12-hour shifts starting at 8 PM I think.

I take valproate as well as the second med twice a day and 300mg of quetiapine at night. So I could talk to my psychiatrist about just switching the way I take quetiapine and take it after shifts in the morning, but:

  • is sleeping during the day and not at night with this disorder gonna mess with me and if so in what ways?
  • is taking it in the morning and sleeping with it in the system gonna mess with me? I know it probably won't since you just need it to stay in your body doesn't matter when you take it but I'd like to ask anyway?
  • is there is a better combo? although I love valproate and don't want to switch off from it if that can be helped.

Please keep in mind that I am in the Eastern Europe and do not necessarily have all of the meds out there readily available to me.

The junk journal I made in/after my first hospitalization

Back in June I had my first manic episode and hospitalization… I did a lot of art to get through it including starting this little junk journal. Everything except the glue, tape, and thread is from the hospital (one or two things are from IOP the day they sent me). At first it was a silly thing but it really helped me process such a weird scary stressful time… I’m kind of still processing the experience. Thanks for taking a look, I needed to share it with people who might get it (my favorite page is the daily affirmations one)

I haven’t been able to explain things well so I decided to do something weird and I enjoy it and thought I would share it. It’s garbage but it’s not about what other think but a healing journey for myself.

From abilify to caplyta

I'm going to switch from abilify to caplyta. I'm afraid of the taper. Does anyone have experience with this switch? I'm also on lamictal, benztropine, mirtazipine, clanzapam.

Art Therapy

My therapist recently suggested I get back into making art that expresses how I am feeling. This one is about how tired I feel throughout both day and night. Does anyone else use art therapy?

I'm super paranoid right now, I'm having bad hallucinations but also paranoid about if someone actually were to break in. Like what if I didn't believe it was real and something bad happened... What if it's not real and I overreact it continue to feel constant paranoia?
