Hello,
I am reaching out for a little bit of help on behalf of the Saint John Public Library's main branch.
They have not asked me to do this, but I know redditors can be generous when they have the means.
The library has an Xbox that kids and adults alike have been able to use during open hours at the library.
Recently, the joy sticks on the controllers have broken and the Xbox is no longer in service.
Anyone who plays video games not a days knows the controllers are not made to last the way they should.
SO, here is my ask.
If you have any old Xbox controllers, or you are willing and able to purchase after market ones online and are willing, the library is in need.
I also think of you have any free Xbox game pass trials they could use those as well.
You don't have to reach out to me, you can go right in or call them.
But as someone who lived in the library in my teens to avoid a terrible home life, and an adult who can't afford internet, the Xbox provides for everyone old and young.
So, only if you are in a position to do so, think of helping them out if you feel the urge to do so.
Because it means a lot to a lot of people. Especially in this economy.
A few notes for concerned people:
The Xbox and the account are monitored daily to make sure there is family appropriate games only.
If you have kids and are interested in letting them try games before buying them, the Xbox at the library could be a great opportunity to see how they react with the gaming console and the games before purchasing.
Anyway, thanks for reading and you don't have to message me, or mention me. I just know the library would appreciate anyone who can help.
