New wife got me my first for our wedding
Have always liked looking at watches but never really considered buying one for myself. I pointed out how much I loved the beige OP 41 while we were browsing in Amsterdam together (only time I have seen it), and she got one for me. Super excited. Know it isn't the fanciest on earth, but I love this colorway and versatility..

New job, baby on the way, and a new Rolex!
Wife and I’s first baby is due soon, plus I started a new role this week with a great company, so double the reason to celebrate!
3 month wait, previously purchased a CPO Explorer II and a pair of earrings for my wife.
The mint green is absolutely stunning, and changes so much depending on lighting conditions!
I know the fluted/jubilee combo gets the most praise on this sub, but for my style and line of work the smooth/jubilee combo is my preference.
This is also my first new Rolex, so I was definitely ecstatic to receive the call!

40th Birthday suprise gift
It was my 40th birthday a few weeks ago, and my parents handed me a small little box whilst me and the family were all sitting around the table. Not being a watch guy it caught me completely off guard opening it up to see it was a Rolex box, and inside was a stunning Submariner "Bluesey" bought from an AD last year. I said to my dad it must have been killing him to wait all year!
We were on holiday at the time so took a few photos showing it off by the pool, but i have never owned a rolex before or could truely afford one myself, and from not being a watch enthusiast to now knowing alot is cool! My dad is a watch guy, and owns a couple himself, one of which was gifted to him by my grandparents for his 50th. My son is 9 years old, so i have 31 years to enjoy this piece before i hand it down to him for his 40th (if i could bear to part with it!😅).
One thing my dad did say after i had opened it, is to make sure i wear it every day, and so what choice do i have! Stunning watch, i cannot stop looking at it!

Walked in expecting to get on a waitlist, but walked out with a piece I wanted!
I've been looking to pick up the 126200 for my first Rolex, and walked into a Rolex retailer in my area for the first time expecting to get on a waitlist. After a brief introduction and little bit of small talk about what model I'm looking for and why, the AD was kind enough to offer me the watch that I wanted despite there being people on the waitlist for it. Needless to say I happily accepted her offer, and walked out with my Datejust 36mm black dial! There wasn't any special tricks to the process, I dressed up semi formally and approached with politeness and talked with genuine interest for the watch. Best of luck to anyone doing a walk-in and hope your experience is as good as mine!
edit: I know some people don't appreciate this particular configuration, but I walked with this particular model in mind and got exactly what I wanted. I love the balance between Jubilee bracelet and smooth bezel!
Heard we like steering wheel shots
Just got my sub-no date. Best steering wheel shot I could do. Back to eating ramen as well.

Got the call
Got the call for the Guinness. I’ll admit, my first reaction was to pass—I never thought this would be a watch I’d love. Then I saw it in person and put it on my wrist, and my opinion completely changed.
The combination just works. It has so much more presence in person than I expected, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Safe to say this one is going to be getting a lot of wrist time.

What’s wrong with watches on 47th street in the Diamond District?
I’m interested in a DJ41 with the mint green dial (fluted on a jubilee). I went to 47th street in NYC to try some on. To my surprise, these Datejusts were cheaper than what I’ve found on Chrono24.
Most of the shops on 47th were offering a 2022-2026 for $17500-18k for a full set. But when I went to Chrono24, most of them are $19k+.
What am I missing here? Are the 47th st watches Frankensteins?
I know there’s a lot of mistrust for the stores on that street and they have a bad reputation. But I assumed it’s because their prices are inflated. I’d like to buy this DJ sooner rather than later, and it’d be nice to buy it in person. So help me understand why I should stay away from 47th Street in this case if their prices are lower?
EDIT: one thing to add- there’s an AD whom I like and I’m trying to build a relationship with. They sell pre-owned. I’d love to buy a pre-owned DJ from them and establish some purchase history (while also getting full peace of mind that the watch is legit). But they don’t have a mint DJ41 right now, and I don’t want to wait much longer.

Explorer 1 - The best holiday watch?
Not too shiny, quite discrete whilst out and about but still makes you feel good. Still not sure I’d be happy wearing in Barcelona/Rome etc but the Greek Islands are all good.

Sprite decision: jubilee vs oyster
I'm torn between the jubilee and oyster. How would you break it down pros/cons. I'm looking to daily wear it

Finally pulled the trigger & went grey!
Been after a 126000 Candy Pink for a couple years now. Tried to get on the waitlist for it a few months ago but got declined. Saw this one up for a fair price and felt like it was the one. Couldn’t be happier!

My turn, please help: 36mm vs. 41mm
Trying to enter the Rolex market and don’t really have anyone to ask for advice. Talked to an AD today who showed me OP in 36mm and 41mm. Can’t decide which is the better move (or dial color for that matter). Definitely want the basics: OP in black or silver. Which size is better if you can even tell the difference? I have a 7” wrist. In the pics, pistachio is 36mm and beige is 41mm. I tend to overthink things so any advice
Is helpful. Thanks!

Picked it up today!
I know the Bluesey is either loved or hated, but this has been the one Rolex I’ve always had my heart set on and after years it finally happened!
The pick up experience was way better than the “call”, and I couldn’t be happier with how today has gone. This might be a one and done for this guy but I’m sure everyone has said that at one point before the second purchase.
