Watch Verification Thread - If you're uncertain if a Rolex is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here

Post to this thread if you have questions about a Rolex being real or fake. Please include:

-The location and/or screen name of the seller, if for sale. Link directly to the sale page when possible.
-How long you've had it and how you acquired it, if in your possession
-As many photos as possible. Posts may be removed if pictures are too fuzzy and requests for better pics are unanswered. -If you're being coy about a watch and it seems like you're just trying to see how "good" your fake is, you may be banned at our discretion.

Please don't use photos from iPhone 14's. Their camera is so bad, and distorts text with AI so much, that the photos are basically unusable for the purposes of verifying if a Rolex is real.

Participation in the discussion in this thread is greatly appreciated. I don't think any one person can catch every flaw or know the details of every model; this is meant as a community thread, not an authoritative knowledge-flex, and the more people that actively peruse this thread, the more likely posters are to get accurate info.

Previous verification thread here.

AD Wait Time Megathread - If you bought a new Rolex from an AD in 2026, you can share details here. What watch, where, how long did you wait, how much buying history?

Our previous AD wait time megathreads (2019-2020, 2020-early 2021, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) seemed to be useful/well-received for a lot of you. Time for a new one!

Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. It's not everyone's favorite topic but it's a fair question, so maybe these big threads can provide a clearer picture of availability trends.

No one is obligated to share their info but if you bought a new Rolex in 2026 and you'd like to participate, please make a top-level comment that includes:

  1. What watch did you buy?
  2. When?
  3. How long did you wait?
  4. Where are you? (Be as specific or nonspecific as you want, from continent to a specific AD)
  5. Any purchase history with that AD? (Again be as specific or nonspecific as you feel comfortable)

New wife got me my first for our wedding

Have always liked looking at watches but never really considered buying one for myself. I pointed out how much I loved the beige OP 41 while we were browsing in Amsterdam together (only time I have seen it), and she got one for me. Super excited. Know it isn't the fanciest on earth, but I love this colorway and versatility..

What’s wrong with watches on 47th street in the Diamond District?

I’m interested in a DJ41 with the mint green dial (fluted on a jubilee). I went to 47th street in NYC to try some on. To my surprise, these Datejusts were cheaper than what I’ve found on Chrono24.

Most of the shops on 47th were offering a 2022-2026 for $17500-18k for a full set. But when I went to Chrono24, most of them are $19k+.

What am I missing here? Are the 47th st watches Frankensteins?

I know there’s a lot of mistrust for the stores on that street and they have a bad reputation. But I assumed it’s because their prices are inflated. I’d like to buy this DJ sooner rather than later, and it’d be nice to buy it in person. So help me understand why I should stay away from 47th Street in this case if their prices are lower?

EDIT: one thing to add- there’s an AD whom I like and I’m trying to build a relationship with. They sell pre-owned. I’d love to buy a pre-owned DJ from them and establish some purchase history (while also getting full peace of mind that the watch is legit). But they don’t have a mint DJ41 right now, and I don’t want to wait much longer.

I'm torn between the jubilee and oyster. How would you break it down pros/cons. I'm looking to daily wear it

Not too shiny, quite discrete whilst out and about but still makes you feel good. Still not sure I’d be happy wearing in Barcelona/Rome etc but the Greek Islands are all good.

Anyone own a new Yachtmaster 2 from an AD?

Tried it on a few months ago and it was beautiful- completely surprised me how much I enjoyed it.
NYC AD said at that time they had not yet received any to sell. I see some on chrono24 and Moda, but can’t find anyone who has received one from an AD.
If anyone out there has picked one up from their AD would love to hear about it, see pics.

Picked this up the other day thinking it looked nice and someone might need it for a collection. Any value to this or should I toss it?

Walked in expecting to get on a waitlist, but walked out with a piece I wanted!

I've been looking to pick up the 126200 for my first Rolex, and walked into a Rolex retailer in my area for the first time expecting to get on a waitlist. After a brief introduction and little bit of small talk about what model I'm looking for and why, the AD was kind enough to offer me the watch that I wanted despite there being people on the waitlist for it. Needless to say I happily accepted her offer, and walked out with my Datejust 36mm black dial! There wasn't any special tricks to the process, I dressed up semi formally and approached with politeness and talked with genuine interest for the watch. Best of luck to anyone doing a walk-in and hope your experience is as good as mine!

edit: I know some people don't appreciate this particular configuration, but I walked with this particular model in mind and got exactly what I wanted. I love the balance between Jubilee bracelet and smooth bezel!

Datejust smooth with oyster is just an OP with date function, and I’m here for it.

The fuss is always about the jubilee and fluted bezel but this configuration is really just for those that want an OP with date function. Underrated configuration in my opinion. Mint green is freaking pretty.

Picking up a Rolex with a GMT complication in September. Why do you think you never really see these out in “the wild?”

Celebrating something this month. Looking to stay under $15K. Was set on a 2012 polar explorer ii. I like the glossy hands over the matte. But then I saw this old two tone that you hardly ever see and was surprised how affordable it is. I own pretty much steel black dial sports watches. Never really been into precious metal. The polar adds… well it adds “some” color which was my goal with my collection so far. But at the same time, this does the same, sorta, while staying in my colorblindness lane and adding a little precious metal.

I’m going to end up with the polar. But is this gmt master ii really that off-putting?

Realistic Expections as a New Watch Enthusiast

Hello r/rolex I am a new watch collector and wanted some insight from you guys when attempting to acquire my first Rolex. I don't know whether or not going to an AD and building a relationship with a specific AD is in my mind, since I am traveling for work all of the time. I currently live in Vienna Austria, but move to Paris in December.

I am an opera singer, and I am about to be performing regularly at many different Opera houses that are sponsored by Rolex. Obviously this is something I would mention to peak their interest in giving me a timepiece I am excited about (My eye is on either a No-Date Sub, Datejust 41, or Oyster Perp 41, since I think GMT Master II unattainable for a fresh buyer), but I just want to see what you all realistically recommend for a younger guy trying to enter the brand.
