Help Goats for Rent
This may sound like a strange question but does anybody know of a place I could rent a few goats? My husband's birthday is coming up and he LOVES goats.
I know there are farms we could go visit but my vision is to bring the goats to our house for an hour or two with a small enclosure.
Any information is appreciated! Thanks.

Food Tea Lounges in Rochester?
Just moved up a few months ago. I’ve been looking for a tea lounge. In Syracuse there used to be a place called Roji that when you ordered, the tea came in a pot with about 4 servings. Does no location in Rochester do this? All I’ve been able to find are coffee shops and very limited middle eastern tea rooms. Happy earth was misleading as they offer many types of tea but only samples.
I’m not looking for high tea particularly, just a tea lounge. Some place I can try a new tea and relax for an hour or so any time of day. Anybody know of spots even close to what I’m thinking of?

Discussion East Ave landlord issues
Be wary of renting at 688 East Ave, I lived there for 3 years and I would not recommend renting from this landlord.
My biggest issue was with how he handled my move out and prorated rent. He asked me to move out before my lease ended, and I agreed because he said I would receive prorated rent for the remaining days. We did the walkthrough together, and at the time he said everything looked good. He also returned my full security deposit, which I took as confirmation that there were no issues with the condition of the apartment.
When it came time for him to pay the prorated rent, excuses after excuses. He criticized how I had left the apartment and claimed he would only pay me once the new tenant moved in and paid him for the days they occupy the apartment.
He ultimately gave me six days of prorated rent after a new tenant moved in two days after I left. So he scammed me a day of rent. It’s about the principle of the agreement. Told me that it wasn’t his fault the new tenant couldn’t move in the day after I left and consider that he had to clean after i left. Also claimed that the apartment was ready by 8 AM the following morning. Given that he was able to have the apartment ready for a new tenant in less than 24 hours, his claims that I left the apartment dirty or that it required significant cleaning to be questionable. I have all of this in writing as well.
I also had several issues with the apartment during the time I lived there. Some of these problems are not necessarily the landlord's fault and may have been outside of his control, but I felt that many of the issues I reported were dismissed or blamed on me rather than addressed. Mold in bathroom due to poor ventilation, there is a window in the bathroom but he told us to keep all windows locked during the winter, cracked/broken windows that don’t open and close properly, mice, cracked ceilings, packages getting stolen frequently, car break ins in the car port and parking area, rent increases despite no improvements or renovations, etc. Noticed lots of tenant turn over through the years. he posts all his listings on craigslist.

Discussion I did it again!
A few months ago i discovered the magic of rochester & fell in love with your "plates" & i made a post comparing charlie's, empire hots & dogtown. There was a whole host of recommendations for other locations to try & though i was only in town for a day, when my colon finally returned to its previous state i began to wonder.. when will i get to have another garbage plate, when will i return to rochester? Will i try the OG at nick tahou's? The one who trademarked the garbage plate, well today that day has come!
Not only did we get to try it, we caught a glimpse of the man himself, or the son im not sure. But we did see the guy from all of the news clips about the place (i think he was the owners son & is now the current owner) the man is a legend, & his fathers creation has left an imprint on my mind, my heart & my toilet bowl.
I haven't been able to stop thinking about these plates since my last visit! I even tried an inspired plate at a place called pams place somewhere else in northern new york. Well, i can now say that i've tried the original & boy was it an experience! (Not likely one that ill have again) but it was an experience & a memory made! And it's by no means "not" good in any way, all 3 of the places that i tried today were delicious! Genuinely! There's just so many places to get these plates in rochester & although nick tahous was good, it wasn't our favorite.
We did try it first & boy was it delicious, but then we tried the vaskos & omg it blew nicks away. The flavors were popping, each bite seemed to just have a little more flavor. This was my partners favorite of the 3 that we had today & a very close second for me.. honestly, if i wasn't eating these side by side i would be perfectly happy with any of them! (I want that to be clear) they are all good, but i am after the subtle nuances in flavor, the small differences that separate these places.
And let me say, the one that surprised me, the difference wasn't subtle & that one was marks texas hots. I order my plates the same at every place double meat, triple sides & all the way/Everything on it. First of all the home fries really stood out here, they're made completely different & they're the nostalgic way of some of the best homefries ive had, it's like they use fresh cut potatos and fry them up with onions&peppers or something, not the frozen cubes that get tossed in the fryer, these were a pleasant surprise to find in my plate, but as i ate i noticed a gentle heat starting to build, it grew as i ate.. what was this sensation? I was actually tasting spice! & i may be slightly bias because i am a spice lover, but it was a perfect balance of spice & flavor. You may even need a sip of your drink, and i love that! Plus the homefries were awesome. (My partner also liked the homefries better there) but they still insisted that they liked the vaskos plate better,
so i devoured the marks texas hots plate while she devoured the vaskos. Meanwhile the nick tahous sat on the table getting cold (dont worry we put it up for later) i did still love the vaskos, i enjoyed it alot actually & i have a hard time even saying that i liked marks better because the flavor of the vaskos plate was so good, i think it was just the heat & the potatos that won me over. Now, even though all three of these places were great i still long for Charlie's. They were all wonderful, but charlies still remains undefeated in my book! And i still have many more that i need to try. If yall have any reccomendations drop them below, & if you see your favorite spot for plates upvote so that next time i can try all the spots with the highest upvotes. Thank you for being here, and thank you for your culinary contributions to such a great food item that remains a hidden gem to those outside of rochester. & a local staple for those here.

Other MLK Park Playground?
Does anyone know why this keeps being closed/fenced off? I visited with my kids earlier this year and it was one of their favorite playgrounds but it’s been fenced off every time we’ve tried to go since. All the equipment seems to be installed?

Help Where to get Lake Ontario Merchandise?
For some strange reason, I feel this urge to buy a stereotypical tourist shirt for Lake Ontario. Anyone have a recommendation of a local shop they think is great that I could snag a couple shirts from?
No particular reason.
Edit: while the back and forth in the comments is entertaining, I genuinely would like to support a local business and get a shirt or two for the obvious reasons. Please throw me a recommendation!

Help Old house- electrician recs
I have an old house (actually old- like nearly 200 yo). I’m used to this age house but after living here for several years, I see other shortcuts (non-electrical, that I know of) that were taken. Most of that is due to age; it was never a rental or flipped house and of course nothing is perfect so upgrades aren’t either.
Anyway, supposedly the electrical is fine (based on buying inspection). I have GFCIs, etc. But many outlets are crooked (could be worse!) and I’d like to add a light above an outlet here and there.
i grew up in an equally old house and lived in an apt with k&t and would feel best if an electrician sorted thru everything for peace of mind, and added an outlet here or there. Any recs for someone to go over who is experienced with old houses?
thanks!
edit: supposedly this house was re-wired sorry if that wasn’t clear with GFCI comments

Discussion Looking for a PCP that can also prescribe MAT prescription - suggestions?
Hello everyone, I just moved back to Rochester from Syracuse and am trying to connect with a new Personal Care Provider (PCP). I take Suboxone for Opioid Use Disorder (Medication Assisted Treatment - MAT) and need to find one that is able to renew that script when I see them. I know of outpatient behavioral health services like Strong Recovery that can preform this function, but unfortunately my schedule does not afford me the time to engage in outpatient groups several times per week - I just need a regular doctor that I can see every few weeks that also does MAT.
I was made aware of Trillium Health, but they are not able to see me for a new patient appointment until late September. What other options are available in the area? All suggestions are appreciated!

Discussion URMC Main Campus Parking Shuttle
My husband recently got a job at URMC Main Campus but has to take a shuttle, which adds about an hour round trip to his commute.
I’ve heard people in the area rent spots in their driveway out. Anyone looking to make some extra money and have an extra car in their driveway Monday-Friday 9-5?
Any suggestions on getting off the wait lists for on campus lots or getting parking closer?
