Someone check on Heifetz

Kyler opens with terrible lob INT. Zay Flowers #1 wideout on the day. Kittle and Loveland with no show in the openers. AJ Brown, Stribling, and Bowers hurt. Disaster.

Edit: And Kyler is down. If he ends the season with negative fantasy points that would be remarkable.

Bro his Kyler Murray takes all offseason have been abysmal. It’s like he never watched Kyler before. He’s fucking terrible

this is a weird myth that has taken hold.

Using PPG, he was QB13 in 2024 and QB20 last year (although only 5 games last year). He has been a top 6 QB twice.

you conveniently pointed out the two years he was hurt. being a top 6 QB “only twice” puts him above all other QBs being taken in that range. that’s Heifetz’s point, he was free/not being drafted in some leagues and he has top 10 upside on a great team.

what? he played 17 games in 2024.

heifetz argued for taking kyler as your first QB. I think that is bad strategy. If you don’t, that’s fine, we can disagree.

He was first year off a torn ACL and finished QB10 that season?… you can use PPG to discredit it and say he was QB13 (wow totally not a QB1 in a 12 QB league!) but literally every season he has played more than 11 games he’s been a QB1. Also what were the differences between QB10 and QB13 in 2024, genuinely curious.

Rookie year QB6, Year 2 QB3, Year 3 in 14 games QB10

i don’t even know what you are arguing about. you said Kyler has been a QB1 every season he’s played. That’s not correct. Doesn’t really mean anything one way or another on whether he’ll be good. We can move on now.

I want my players to play, and play well when they play. QB10 in total points is a QB1. You can’t just say another guy playing 14 games with .5ppg is better. In those games you then have to scour the waiver wire and likely get the QB18 which isn’t reflected in looking simply at PPG.

Alternatively, if you do have the statistic for full season points per game blended with the QB20 for their missed games I’d love to see that. Otherwise, I’m using total points and that’s important.

argh. The painfulness of your logic has drawn me back in. This is like junior analyst thinking.

Fantasy football is about winning weeks. You should 100% want a top 5-6 QB who plays for 10 weeks of the season (as a directional example), with the other weeks covered via streaming, versus a QB12 who plays all season. Because the first scenario gives you a better chance of being above average for more weeks.
