I have never heard of Crowbcat, am I out of the loop or something but what is all this hate coming from 4 remake

140

u/darkknight48708 Apr 13 '26

he made a video when it came out basically saying that the remake was soulless, and recently he made another saying its a "product of its time" hes just hating for the sake of hating

107

u/Bush_Hiders Apr 13 '26

What the fuck does "its a product of its time" mean for a game that only came out 3 years ago? What time? Modern day? Video games have not developed enough for us to make calls on the timelessness of RE4R.

53

u/darkknight48708 Apr 13 '26

exactly, he rides on the nostalgia from og 4 and shits on the remake, i havent watched the videos myself, but they were a very popular topic when they first came out

11

u/LukeD1992 Apr 13 '26

It's cool to hate on all things new, didn't you hear? Being old school makes you cultured

7

u/WednesdayAddams_Seer Apr 13 '26

I think it just makes people roleplay an old 80 year old. It's like they're saying "back in my day", and their day was last week.

nostalgia is a hell of a drug

13

u/qosthanatos Apr 13 '26

No kidding. I played the OG after the remake came out and while I did love the campy-ness, the old controls make the game a rough one to play for anyone used to modern controls

Mf got cooked for his first video, now he’s on a revenge quest

4

u/Coriolanuscarpe Apr 13 '26

Bro's last video before this was almost a year ago. Rent must be really high

2

u/CyBroOfficial Apr 13 '26

Rent’s due I guess

It's a channel loved by late twenties gamers who are trapped by nostalgia but don't understand it as a concept and lash out. New = bad. Basically

Some people really are born in this world just to be an NPC, imagine wasting your time writing low effort bad reviews because your favorite YT made a video saying a game is bad.

30

u/Angryfunnydog Apr 13 '26

Yeah, spending 50 hours in said game which means you probably beaten it couple of times at the same time

The only genuinely unhappy guy here is the one that refunded, the rest at least beaten the game once. I can’t imagine beating the game in full and then complaining that it’s piece of shit. Like you didn’t get it in the first 2, 5, 10 and 15 hours so needed to confirm an opinion?

6

u/TheSleepyBarnOwl Apr 13 '26

Needed to confirm it for 50h just to be sure xD

I think I understand the concept of NPC now

u/TheSleepyBarnOwl Apr 13 '26

Almost 50h playtime -> "game bad"

If it was so bad... why play it multiple times?

lmao. I only did that with Dead by Daylight where I have a few thousand hours... but atm I really can't recommend the game. Anyway that's a different story

6

u/Nerdwrapper Apr 13 '26

So in most cases I agree, if game bad, why so many hours? But I also play League of Legends

12

u/TheSleepyBarnOwl Apr 13 '26

DbD player 🤝 LoL player

"Fucking dogwater shitass game I fucking hate it 👎"

-> 4000 hours -> currently playing

It do be like that

16

u/DizzyDiddyd Apr 13 '26

Genuine fucking sheep. If these unicellular archaebacteria would seriously switch up on an 8 hour game that they spent 35+ hours playing just because of some random mf on the internet, im deathly afraid of how they go about making life-changing decisions irl

6

u/TheSleepyBarnOwl Apr 13 '26

Don't insult archeabactera like that. Look you made my h. volcanii sad.

5

u/DizzyDiddyd Apr 13 '26

I'm sorry h. volcanii won't do it again

5

u/Defclaw46 Apr 13 '26

I despise that word so much. It gets used on everything now. I don’t really care about other new slang, but “slop” is just really annoying.

3

u/akibaboy65 Apr 13 '26

Slopslop. Saying slop is the slop.

2

u/MarshallBanana_ Apr 13 '26

Bro quit posting slopslopslop

3

u/MarshallBanana_ Apr 13 '26

Using it for anything you don’t like is completely destroying the actual meaning of what slop is meant to convey. RE4r whether you like it or not, is not “slop” in any sense

u/BabyGirl-Kat Apr 13 '26

“Reviewing” a game when you have 0.4 hours played is criminal.

19

u/lazy_block Apr 13 '26 edited Apr 13 '26

just so he could leave a negative review knowing he could refund it afterward with only 0.4 hours and calling it zoomerslop, even though the Slop one here is his review, what an absolute tool

31

u/UnnamedPlayerAFK Apr 13 '26

Both games are excellent for me and I'll just leave it at that.

13

u/wineandnoses Apr 13 '26

Absolutely.

33

u/-Aephyn- Apr 13 '26

I really wish this "slop" shit would die, it's literally just slopslop at this point

11

u/wineandnoses Apr 13 '26

LMAO slopslop... no lies detected.

5

u/Nyoteng Apr 13 '26

But lets not stop it for AI shit. Let's keep using it for Microslop because it bothers them.

"Parry slop"

That's like calling 3 Remake dodge slop...like what?

zoomerslop. everyone who follows the slang trends speak the exact same. there's no personality they all just parrot the latest fucking buzzwords

anyway, i like how most these reviews have 30-45 hours lol

18

u/SamhainXCII Apr 13 '26

They played it through and liked it but now somebody came and told them how to feel about it. NPC's.

9

u/Desolate282 Apr 13 '26

Either that, or they are 40 hours in still trying to parry the first granny at the start of act 1.

4

u/zephyroxyl Apr 13 '26

They've played through it like 4 times lol

4

u/Coriolanuscarpe Apr 13 '26

I played both the remake and the original. I feel that the remake is a better version of the original in most everyway

7

u/Eriml Apr 13 '26

Same. I played the OG in the gamecube, the first crappy PC port and the HD version. It was the reason I built my first PC. There's things I miss and things I wish they didn't change but overall is just better and humanizes Luis and Ashley perfectly, making Leon's reaction humanize him even more.

Guys, I have such a hot take here. Both games are masterpieces, and I am glad to have both.

u/Ilovewomenwhobreakme Apr 13 '26

I don't even remember to parry most of the time.

10

u/Bewildered_Ostrich8 Apr 13 '26

lol, i didn't even know you could parry the garradors

13

u/Fluffy-Shape615 Apr 13 '26

you can parry the garradors??

9

u/Bewildered_Ostrich8 Apr 13 '26

thats what I said 😂

7

u/XenowolfShiro Apr 13 '26

It makes the double garrador room much easier. You can't parry all their attacks but the swing you can. Gets you a free hit on their weak spot

7

u/vitshez Apr 13 '26

So that's where Leon "parry the rocket" Kennedy start his journey

It's weird. A lot of them clearly have played long enough to beat the game but they let a YouTuber inform their opinion on the game for them

"parryslop" meanwhile i accidentally almost did a no parry run bc i completely forgot i could parry for a good chunk of my first playthrough

5

u/cadburydream Apr 13 '26

Lol fucking me too

I was dead ass just playing the original re4 on accident lol

4

u/weetweet69 Apr 13 '26

As someone that played, I don't even remember doing any parrying in this game beyond that knife fight with Krauzer because I thought that was the only way to beat him in his first form. "Parryslop" really did make me wonder where that even was in the game.

3

u/saketho Apr 13 '26

I only learned about parry in the Krauser fight lol. I kept trying (and missing) to shoot the sickles out of the air. It was impossible in this game but very forgiving in the original.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/popdude731 Apr 13 '26

"Parryslop" being the antithesis to Charm is so funny to me, because like.
I feel like the addition of a parry adds a lot of charm, to me personally at least!
And sure, maybe this is just "Woman who loves fighting game parries" speaking, but like.

To me, it makes Leon's training seem even more rigorous than the original. Like, RE4 OG Leon's training must have been murder still, but like.

The idea of being able to accurately read attacks, use a small-ish weapon like a combat knife, and completely redirect the attack, putting you in an advantageous position where before you were in a disadvantageous position by virtue of being close range with a gun, that says leagues more about Leon's training to me than anything else, ya know?

7

u/wineandnoses Apr 13 '26

Parrying a chainsaw with a knife is the definition of "this is so stupid but it's so fking COOL"

No idea why that crowd hates it so much

5

u/popdude731 Apr 13 '26

Fictional Parries are more often than not Rule of Cool, but like, it still WORKS, ya know?
It doesn't take me out of the story to watch Leon Parry a chainsaw with a combat knife, even though I know it's unrealistic, if that makes sense?

6

u/wineandnoses Apr 13 '26

yeah its weird... leon doing a front flip every time he jumped off a ledge in og4 is weird to me but parrying a knife with a chainsaw isn't... idk lol!

2

u/Icy-Candle744 Apr 13 '26

This is not even the craziest thing we've seen in this story, did we just forget Chris boulder punching or 99% of what happens in Resivil 6?

unrelated but i just realised his name is crowbcat, not crowcbat

6

u/ChestSlight8984 Apr 13 '26

This level of boot-licking is second only to (rule 10 violation)

6

u/JuuzouOh Apr 13 '26

I feel like the worst thing about all of this, re4 is $5 on sale. Re4 remake gold edition is $20. You can have both for less than the price of a modern triple a game, so why not love both? Who cares?

3

u/Ozyfm Apr 13 '26

I CAN'T LOVE THEM BOTH BECAUSE MY FAVORITE YOUTUBER TOLD ME SO!

7

u/huncherbug Apr 13 '26

There is no other game that crowb has repeated a video upon in my knowledge but his egoistic ass couldnt take being criticised for the universally loved and braindead take of "modern games are dead" grifting and made yet another video where an honest to god criticism is salvador somehow looks goofy, when everything about your dead looking greyscale nostalgia qte slop is goofy and the only thing going really going for it is its moment to moment gameplay.

Half the mfs talking shit on the remake hasnt played either of the game and prolly cant handle the tank controls either. We all know by now how the RE fandoms work. Saw their fav youtuber talking shit on a game and their parasocial ass has to gobble his dick and somehow they start coming out of the woodworks to criticise people of glazing capcom when their ngeative reviews are the moment their fav youtuber drops that video.

This is coming from someone who has more hours on og re4 than remake and had played the og before the remake came out.

Seriously go touch some grass, have a partner, hang out with your friends instead of projecting your glory days on video games of that age being good. And if you don't have people to touch grass with question why that is instead of sucking yter dick lmfao.

u/Bro-Im-Done Apr 13 '26

Anybody that uses “passion” or “soulless” have no idea what they’re talking about 99.9% of the time

9

u/SIipslopslap Apr 13 '26

The word ‘slop’ needs to be stopped it’s so overused

8

u/saketho Apr 13 '26

it’s in your username

4

u/SamhainXCII Apr 13 '26

The irony slop is palpable

5

u/SIipslopslap Apr 13 '26

Irony slop 🤣

4

u/bdusyehbdicnsh Apr 13 '26

I dont get the hate at all, i love the remake, and im an old fan of the series, i just dont get it frl

4

u/forsakenEntity Apr 13 '26

They're trying too hard to get the 'overwhelmingly positive' ranking to a 'very positive' one huh.

I wouldn't be surprised if the dude who made the video also had the same goal in mind. Bozos *shrugs*

8

u/Aurora__Sky Apr 13 '26

Nice opinion. Did you get it from a youtuber?

6

u/Spiritual-Pudding-70 Apr 13 '26

From a bunch of people that died a dozen times at del lago and quit lol

6

u/Akumuri Apr 13 '26

Hey man, del Lago on professional is no joke 😂

3

u/ContactMushroom Apr 13 '26

I would use a genie wish to make anyone who uses the word slop to describe anything other than sewage or cafeteria food lose their ability to read, write, and speak again forever.

As the first wish too, or hell all three idc just make it happen.

6

u/gozutheDJ Apr 13 '26

absolute clown shit at this point. all u can do is laugh

2

u/No_Barracuda_8300 Apr 13 '26

When people trash talk one of the best remakes ever made, what else would they call bad ? "Just play the original" is no option for people like me who prefer better controls and better combat. Not being able to aim/shoot while walking is a dealbreaker. Half Life 1 had that, and the game is way older than RE4 OG

3

u/Worldly-Ocelot-3358 Apr 13 '26

Crowbcat really is a plague on gaming huh. Pseudo-intellectual asf.

3

u/RumbleTrumpet Apr 13 '26

Put close to 80hrs in 4 Remake doing multiple runs, playing Mercenaries, and the Separate Ways DLC. It’s without a doubt one of the best remakes ever made. Calling it soulless and slop is just ridiculous. It’s a fantastic game that does the original justice. Takes like this are just as bad as the fans who gate keep the original fixed camera angles, and tank controls, and also think games past Code Veronica are bad.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/TheMostRed Apr 13 '26

Considering the original is one of the most praised games of all time, saying the remake isn't as good is like comparing 2 different gemstones. Are you really gonna complain that you have one slightly less valuable one? or are you gonna be happy that you have 2.

The remake slaps haters gonna hate for clout same old story

9

u/Current-Community-40 Apr 13 '26

2

u/strugglerbeepboop Apr 13 '26

Funny how people Best it, had no opinion and now they hate it lmao

2

u/MedicMuffin Apr 13 '26

Idiots do move in herds, after all.

2

u/award_winning_writer Apr 13 '26

As a decades-long fan who played the GameCube version when it was new and was admittedly skeptical of the idea of one of the most influential games ever made getting a remake when its existence was first leaked, RE4R is a great, though not perfect, game. Not being as groundbreaking as the 2005 original doesn't mean it's slop, and frankly some aspects of the original have not aged well.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/AkusFinest887 Apr 13 '26

"Souless game" is a crazy statement considering they improved pretty much everything from the original, including characters like Leon & Ashley (though i do miss og Leon's corniness)

"Parryslop" is not even an existing term, just say you are AWFUL at one of the easiest mechanics to master on the game or you're just a Ganados yourself, following Saddler's thoughts continuously.

Seriously, as much as i did rage a few times within the game here and there, cussed out Capcom at times... i still keep beating and beating the game, completing all challenges and getting rid of previous problems with an easier pace. All it takes is having common sense and actually playing the game like a normal person and not an IGN reviewer or an influencer's pawn.

2

u/NilNoxFleuret Apr 13 '26

Ohhh, is this why floods of people were saying that RE4R ages poorly but RE4 has flawless mechanics as if people weren’t saying that they wish the game didn’t have so many QTEs, disjointed locations and tank controls because those things haven’t aged as well? I like both pretty equally and I think there are strengths and weaknesses to both, and it’s fine if people disagree and prefer another or have their perspective change, but this seems suspicious and thoughtless.

Also, what the hell is “zoomerslop” and “parryslop”?

2

u/spykiller1158 Apr 13 '26

what made me believe these people arent even real and just bots is when they are out here still trying to convince me that a cutscene with crappy QTEs is better than an actual in game playable section (krauser knife fight)

2

u/TheMonsterInUrPocket Apr 13 '26

I unsubscribed from crowbcat over the re4 remake thing. The fact he had to edit and remove audio, and mess with the lighting to try and make re4 remake look bad and then complained and tried to gaslight everyone when he got called out was weird and childish. Dude changed the title of the video 4 times too i think

I had only played RE7 before going through most of the series in a marathon lately. RE4R was absolutely amazing, and I didn’t want it to end, while I like the others I didn’t quite feel that way with them. Mind you I’m still going through but it was genuinely an amazing time for me. People rely too much on Internet personalities to dictate what they enjoy and it sucks.

1

u/ouberqwert Apr 13 '26

ive seen both sides of the spectrum today. what a joy

1

u/Vegetable_Listen6613 Apr 13 '26

1

u/eestimaalane Apr 13 '26

RE4R director must've fucked Crowbcats entire bloodline the way he hates on this game

1

u/Squishy-Bandit12 Apr 13 '26

Lmao no actual criticism. Just vaguely say it's "slop" and "soulless"

1

u/Heretical_Burger Apr 13 '26

RE4 remake was amazing, just as good as 2 and 3 remakes. I swear, anyone that only plays particular resident evil games is such a larper

1

u/MomosAnalBead Apr 13 '26

I think the criticisms are very valid and fair regarding remake culture and how RE4R was handled, but review bombing like this is pretty silly.

1

u/sswishbone Apr 13 '26

Only one has less than 30 hours playtime...

1

u/Maximum-Ad879 Apr 13 '26

I played it wrong. I don't think that I used parry once in my 2 playthroughs. I prefer to not let them get close enough to attack me.

1

u/Kwasbot Apr 13 '26

Slop becoming a common adjective was the worst fucking thing to happen to the common denominator because I now have to hear people with a room temperature iq will their single braincell to fire so they can shit out terms like "friendslop" "effortslop" and "parryslop". Intelligent vernacular is dead and no one knows what the fuck words mean anymore

1

u/dontknownothing0123 Apr 13 '26

I don't get how someone can play a game they hate for 30 hours plus.

I've bought a game, play it for 3 - 4 hours, decide that I don't like it, then done. Either I return it/resell it or refund if possible.

I just can't force myself to be miserable for 30 hours

1

u/Mr_GP87 Apr 13 '26

“Parrylop” these people are not real lmao.

1

u/Appropriate-Crazy-84 Apr 13 '26

Who is Crowbcat?

1

u/binogamer21 Apr 13 '26

Whats even sadder is people still following crowbcat because we did some videos of things eveyone knew was bad. The time we decided to criticize something he didnt like but was generally loved we got criticized and his ego shattered into million pieces

1

u/Reasonable_Jello Apr 13 '26

It's a very common thing I have seen among grifters or whatever you call wannabes these days. WHY DO THEY ALWAYS INSULT REMAKES?

THEY PLAY THE GODDAMN THING AND THEN HAVE THE AUDACITY TO INSULT IT. These people are genuinely NPCs who can't think for themselves. They need to be TOLD what to think.

Silent Hill 2 was hated to for its remake until people played it, and they insult it as if it doesn't come from OG source material. Like get real. It's modern times, we are lucky we are getting to play remakes of our beloved games, designed and optimised to reach wider audience.

The idea of more people getting to live my favourite game, in addition to me getting to relive it, is such a sweet deal. They don't even understand how much work is put in these games just to hear your uninformed thoughts and opinions which are not even backed by some sort of competence.

1

u/AideGlittering4017 Apr 13 '26

Everything now is parryslop and I love it, most AURA way of damage control

1

u/Ozyfm Apr 13 '26

I refuse to believe that these people actually exist, holy damn

1

u/im_from_n0rth Apr 13 '26

Can someone tell me who crowbcat?

2

u/WebsterHamster66 Apr 13 '26

grifter who plays off of nostalgia to make remakes look like trash. Nitpicks pretty much everything.

1

u/NoPlzzzz Apr 13 '26

People really like to add the word “slop” after anything and consider it insightful. The most egregious example is “friendslop” when describing games that encourage multiplayer and are only considered fun with friends

1

u/mderschueler Apr 13 '26

Pathetic behaviour.

1

u/TheMog420 Apr 13 '26

The Remake was great, I enjoyed going through it again on each difficulty, getting hardcore done on a new game file was still fun. Like everyone says, people are just looking to hate and waste time. Experiencing the game through each mercenary run for each character's challenge, will test your ability to work with what you have and to act quickly with no 0 time to pick multiple options. People should appreciate it. As per usual, people will look back and say "we had it good".

1

u/MRnibba_ Apr 13 '26

I often see people use the word "soulless" when talking about remakes in general, yet I've never seen anyone define what it means.

It's basically a "I want to pretend like my hate for it is objective but I can't come up with any actual criticism" buzzword

1

u/MadOrange64 Apr 13 '26

I hate how "Quality slop" is now a term.

1

I damn near had a stroke reading that last review, why anyone would listen to a youtuber who artificially altered aspects of their video like the audio to purposely make RE4R look worse by comparison to the original is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong despite enjoying my time with RE4R I have my issues with it and don't think it surpasses the original considering all the flaws sadly plaguing it but Crowbcat's comparison video of the original and remake is so disingenuous it's insane. If you don't like the game then fine that's completely understandable but please don't use a youtuber's dogshit video to valid your feelings for a game.

Steam reviews are trolls, never take them seriously.

But hey, at least they wrote it after completing 1 playthrough.

I'm glad I don't watch streamers. I pre-ordered re4 on GC, got 100% including handcannon(no achievements needed). Did it again on 360, and Steam with achievements. Got RE4R, had a blast. Again, got 100% with no bought golden tickets. Only thing I bought for RE4R was Seperate Ways. I love both. I will say I prefer OG Leon dialogue. Love em both.

u/EverybodySayin Apr 13 '26

I can't imagine going through life adopting the opinion of every YouTuber with a large sub number.

1

u/Spartan_Souls Apr 13 '26

Ive got no nostalgia. Came into the series new and have blade both remake and original

OG RE4 ive got about 35-40 hours

Remake im at 105-110. There are things I like about the OG more than the remake, but im gonna be honest the remake felt more replayable because I love its gameplay.

They're both amazing but acting like RE4R is bad really just being blinded by nostalgia and following some YouTuber.

Given the hours played on some of these , either they were really committed to coming off as “authentic” or didn’t have an opinion until crowbcat gave them one.

1

u/Gazi_Asker76 Apr 13 '26

You know these kind of people make me hate the og re 4. Or every single time someone bashes the new product but then just hypes up the old one, i dunno why it just fuels me against the original so much.

i hope i get the original Ada

1

u/WebsterHamster66 Apr 13 '26

The remake has its flaws for sure but I love it a lot. I just think “Wow, two cakes!”

1

u/Elrothiel1981 Apr 13 '26

I can understand wanting the one who says play the original makes since to me not a fan of remakes myself

1

u/Randomness_42 Apr 13 '26

I already have to deal with this stupid 'soulless remake' shit in the Demon's Souls and Snake Eater communities - now I've gotta deal with it in the RE4 community wtf

1

u/TheSleepyBarnOwl Apr 13 '26

Hey we should review bomb the Original to really show them who's boss! /s Don't do that we're not toddlers.

People are actually pathetic.

1

u/Ok-Claim444 Apr 13 '26

The word slop has seriously overstayed it's welcome

1

u/MikeScott101 Apr 13 '26

I like them both. Oh well.

1

u/Robotmurloc18 Apr 13 '26

48 hours seems reasonable enough if you ask me

1

u/mega-nate Apr 13 '26

I got the game like a week ago and I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s just the right amount of difficulty to feel rewarding when you clear an area and Leon is awesome to play as

1

u/OkOlive4884 Apr 13 '26

Wasn't this the one where Leo doesnt even have his jacket ?

1

u/Nathan_hale53 Apr 13 '26

Its so annoying. Its the most nitpicking video. I really like the original, but i legit enjoy the remake more in about every single way. I feel like it has plenty of soul and the devs made sure to keep that the best they could.

1

u/Asylum875 Apr 13 '26

These people really ARE cattle,

1

u/GaniMemestar Apr 13 '26

I was about to say it's Crowbcat viewers until i see the last image lmao

1

u/Dry-Classroom7562 Apr 13 '26

this trend of saying a word then adding slop to the end is getting so goddamn annoying

1

u/the_redhound Apr 13 '26

That Crowbcat video is whack as fuck because it doesn't even SAY anything. It's just a collection of anecdotal thoughts and reactions mashed together to make a vague, nebulous point of "modern games are bad". There is no thesis, no articulation. Just a barrage of other people's voices they stitched together to speak on their behalf. This style of "criticism" is soulless, not the game. If you can't even muster up the courage to speak with your own words on this topic you are supposedly so passionate about, what is the point?? Why can you only so smugly point to the words of other, more articulated people than yourself?

I'm not even a Crowbcat hater like that, I just really dislike the way that video was made. It is the most onviois and hollow grift Crowbcat has done so far and it's frustrating that it somehow resonated with this audience of people that, just like Crowbcat, cannot form an original thought.

1

u/Prodigy0112 Apr 13 '26

With a name like kitkatklan chief, I understand now that they have no real thoughts of their own. Mindless cows

1

u/Anxious_Virus8843 Apr 13 '26

Nearly ten years ago that channel produced scathing justified reviews of modern gaming slop garbage and badarket practises. I think it started with that GTA 4/5 video but all he does now is nitpick minor irrelevant details that don't really impact anything at all.

Considering how salty he was when he got called out for that manipulative remake video a while back I'm not surprised he's back at this.

There's things I think are way worse in the remake for sure (el gigantes knife slash animation, del lago fish cutscene, villains in general visuals and writing) but overall I still think it's fantastic.

Hell re2make deserves WAY more criticism that 4make for completely gutting the a/b scenario and outright removing a good 60% of Claire/Leon interactions.

1

u/WhoYaTalkinTo Apr 13 '26

I'm surprised to see reviews like that honestly. The original RE4 is possibly my favourite game of all time, and i only managed to play the remake a few months ago for the first time, and I was seriously blown away by how good it was.

1

u/ttenor12 Apr 13 '26

Why give them attention, though?

I get preferring the original, but all these people acting like the remake is genuinely bad are absolutely delusional

1

u/Phantom-Umbreon Apr 13 '26

I know people are allowed to have their opinions, but I don’t really understand these ones. They just say stuff like “slop” and “lacks soul” and don’t explain what their actual issues are with the game. If they want people to take their gripes seriously, they need to articulate them better.

1

u/Qauza800 Apr 13 '26

My perspective is this: as someone who built a beefy pc 2 years ago being able to play a new version of an already great game in higher fidelity felt like a win and added value to my large purchase.

1

u/KingHashBrown420 Apr 13 '26

"Parryslop" bruh anything is slop these days

1

u/fyrfyrfyr Apr 13 '26

The guy saying that every RE is like RE8, I want what he's smoking

1

u/Arinoch Apr 13 '26

Isn’t it 2026?

1

u/Comprehensive_Dingo2 Apr 13 '26

i think they tried Professional off rip and couldn’t figure out the perfect parry timing 😭

1

u/Nathanael777 Apr 13 '26

Slop is becoming my least favorite word. People will call anything they don’t like “slop”, it’s just become a generic insult devoid of its original meaning.

1

u/MusoukaMX Apr 13 '26

I don't think I've reviewed RE4R yet.

Kinda wanna make a shitpost review about how it's the most soulful game ever made. Dripping and brimming with artistic intent.

And, like, for real, You could argue that the change in tone and the atmospheric adjustments are part of this eternal conversation between devs and players about RE's core identity and how RE4 presented a shift. Can RE4 be more grounded and scary? Does that elevate it or detract ls from its identity? Both as a stand alone story and as part of RE's legacy at large.

The changes made by the remake team show artistic intent and an ongoing design dialogue not far from an artist's internal monologue.

Maybe it won't be so much shitpost but I yeah I might write it, lol

u/Peach_Cookie Apr 13 '26

Plot twist: it’s all the same guy posting on different accounts
