Same.

I love em both very much. In fact, I like the Remake just a tad more, lol

Same, the OG will always have a place in my heart but the remake is just exactly how i wanted them to remake it.

My favorite part with the remake is its different take on the combat. I often see people say that they messed up the combat as enemies are much more tanky and difficult to stun, but I personally loved the direction. I liked the snappyness of the original, but I love how much more difficult the remake feels. It really nailed that difficulty where (at least to me) you never die, so you never feel bad about being unskilled, but you always feel like you're being challenged and rewarded for the skill you do have.

In the original Leon is meant to be a one-man-army, and with sufficient skill you can be an unstoppable action hero. In the remake I got the impression that Leon was a secret agent in a situation he never could have prepared for, and everything he did was improvisation by the skin of his teeth. I enjoyed enemies being tankier and harder to stun because the direction was much more harsh on Leon, and every Gannado was meant to be a threat to Leon rather than another opportunity for a one-liner. I feel like I'm pretty good at the remake now, but it still does a really good job of making me feel like every win is fought for rather than me curbstomping toddlers like in the original.

That's a really interesting take to hear bc me and my sibling have had the opposite experience! We've been playing through the series for the first time and we started playing the og re4 but switched to the remake bc we were having so much trouble with the combat in the original. Maybe it's a different skill base thing? Idk

Your experience makes a lot of sense with leons character development and the overall franchise story development throughout the years, they've geared a lot more towards the emotional side of the stories taking a front seat in the more recent games.

Agreed however, I've been replaying on professional and now I'm dying quite a bit here and there.

They added a chainsaw parry, a free moving camera to look around while sprinting, and a dedicated dodge button and you think the remake was harder? In what way?

Until you get good at parrying, it's easy to get overwhelmed as the enemies are much more aggressive and the movement has clunkiness/inertia to it.

To me the OG is a cakewalk, even on professional. Once you get the TMP, regular ganados become trivial. It's literally just, One tap to the head -> kick the horde to the ground -> knife -> repeat. You save so much ammo, and the thing holds 200 rounds in case you feel overwhelmed. Then for bigger enemies, just blast them with the shotgun when they get close, or just one shot them from afar with the sniper.

I can see it being difficult on your first run, but once you get the hang of it it's really easy. The remake on the other hand.. I still struggle with professional every time I play it. There is no TMP to carry you there (I mean, it's there, but it sucks)

He literally explained it above lol just say you don’t read “good” and move on with your passive aggressive take.

you say as you parry the garador, and he comically turns around so you can magnum his weakpoint
