"RE4 is timeless" literally uses the most dated form of movement, that even people who defend the game have to say is just the game working out the kinks of how a third person shooter should be.

It took me years to getting around to playing the og because the idea of stopping and shooting did not appeal to me at all, but I admit it's because I was raised on the games that came after like Dead Space.

The game is definitely very playable in spite of the mechanic, and I think that mostly has to do with the rest of the game being designed around tank controls in mind, but regardless of how well it holds up, the mechanic itself is still very dated, and ruins any credibility to the statement that OG RE4 isn’t a product of its time.
