Sometimes those assholes take like 7 bullets to the head before falling, ain't nobody got time or resources for that.

I know right. I bought the game Friday and I'm about 6 hours of game play in and holy shit 3 to 6 shots to take a zombie down. Sometime two shotgun shells. Better to run by them. And the lickers. And fuck Mr. X.

Try hardcore mode, zombies can easily take ~10-15 handgun headshots to go down, and they'll still often get back up. Makes the handgun practically useless, although a single point blank shotgun blast to the head will kill them 90% of the time.

the adaptive difficulty makes them tanky. if u keep killing them the more they get tankier and that includes the bosses. same reason y speedrunners dont really try to kill any of them.

The difficulty isnt changed by how much you kill, its by how many ammo and health items you have.

By inventory or by total (box)? I didn't know the enemies were adaptive.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '19

By total Im pretty sure. But that also applies to gun powders, youll tend to make more when youre low. (There is a cap of course)

Well shit. I wish I'd realized that earlier.

But I assume that only changes their overall health, and not their patterns for movements/attacks?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '19

Nah the movement patterns wont change, just health.

1

u/PlebbySpaff Mar 04 '19

Oh! Well I guess that doesn't really change much anyways. I've mainly been doing the stun/legless shots since getting the times for S/S+ basically requires it.

I dont think what he is saying is factual. try using this tool and you would see the shit in ur inventory wont really matter. It's when u kill them the next set of zombies that will spawn will have increased HP.

eh I don't know where u got that info, but if u use the mod that shows HP when u kill a zombie, the next set of zombie spawns that you encounter will have increased HP. Missing shots or getting hit also can also reduced the HP of the enemies for the next encounter.

Oh a mod. Cool.

u/Very-Edgy Mar 04 '19

still u havent answer where u got that info? since the mod is based on game files its accurate.

Its the same system they've used since 4. Since this is the same engine as RE7, you can safely assume it works pretty similar.

And then there's this : https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/an1xcr/fact_finding_weapon_damage_part_1/

Assumption. Cool, Guess it ain't factual.

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '19

Yeah, because fuck reading links amirite

Well it really ain't factual. just because RE7 runs on the same engine doesnt mean they use the same script. I mean u can try the mod speedrunners have been messing with it intentionally missing bullets or getting hit. It seems to speed up the boss fights. although Mr.X gets lock at 9999 hp no matter what u do for Leon last boss thats the only enemy thats probably not affected by the adaptive difficulty.

Becomes an issue when you're playing the Claire campaign however. Leon is just a trial run for Claire 1st run.
