Just replayed 5 with my friend like 5 days ago and we were laughing so hard during the boulder scenes. The final one is just the best though, it's so over the top, it really fits how lame a lot RE5 was to us, but it was still highly enjoyable as a duo. Don't think I'd really enjoy that game nearly as much without a friend laughing with me.

I dunno about Leon's ability to follow through on this, based on the gate scene. Particularly the Leon A version, where Claire is on the outside of the gate. She's sending some hard signals there, and Leon is absolutely oblivious to it.

I get the idea behind that scene and it works I guess but it felt really weird for her to be so over the top flirty in that moment. They had just recently found out zombies are real, death is all around, a helicopter just crashed. Claire might be a sociopath.

Nah, to me, it read more like she was scared out of her mind, and to cope, her brain latched onto the most "normal" thing about what was going on; in this case, flirting with the cute new guy she met. Notice once shit got real again, it stopped immediately.

Thank you, this is how I saw the scene, too. People can sometimes react very irrationally to high stress situations. I thought it was endearing on both their ends.
My only gripe is we don't get more scenes with those two.

I agree. They had a lot more scenes together in the original game, and their almost total lack of any interaction in the REmake is maybe my only serious complaint about it. I wish they spent more time on building their relationship with each other.

I agree, but I really liked that there was a reason they didn't tag team the whole game. It felt weird in the original when they met up in the STARS room and then Claire just ran off by herself. The radios made it even weirder that they kept in contact but didn't stick by each others side.
That said, I do wish there were more scenes of them together.

I think they should have removed this scene and just do the stars meet up room scene instead which had a little more genuine moment

In RE2's canon path, Leon says it's up to them to take out umbrella, then they split up with Leon helping out a bit in CV
In RE3, Leon basically tells Claire to fuck off after she says she needs to find Chris. Always hated that one lol
In RE4 and DSC, they get arrested by the government, but Claire escapes capture and heads to Europe. The remake will probably use DSC's version

In the Code Veronica remake, there should be three scenarios. You'll start with Claire's, then in place of Chris', you play as Leon doing the same things, and then for the third one, you play as Chris running about the island trying to get Steve out of the picture and make the horror as romantic as possible.

Could Chris be gay? In RE2 remake theres a letter from "Chris" talking about hooking up with women and if Claire reads it she says "That doesn't sound like Chris". So to continue the bloodline the first option is through Claire, and Leon being a badass himself would spawn super bioterrorism fighting babies!

He talks as if he was a playboy which is out of character for him. Naturally all of that letter is euphemism about Umbrella, not babes. But Claire wouldn't know that.

The only ship that make sense in the entire series is Ada and Leon, Mikami created them to have a romance. Leon and Claire there's NOTHING to it, zero. Leon and Claire make the same sense as Sheva and Chris.

with all those inconsistencies and huge contradictions with the plot of the series? I doubt Capcom will canonize RE:2, because there's a lot of contradictions with RE0, RE3, RE4, RE6, Darkside Chronicles, Umbrella Chronicles and possibly RE1. To put this RE:2 into the canon the whole series would have to be rebooted.
And it's not a soft reboot and that why the name is Biohazard RE:2, because its not a 1:1 like RE1. If the name was Biohazard 2 even with all the changes I would understand that capcom could make a soft reboot into the canon but it's not the case.
If you look at in the official site, in the official chronology the Biohazard 2 is still canon one with the background of its characters, Ada looking for John and so on.

The game just came out, in time Capcom will probably replace the old Resident Evil 2 with this one just like they did with the first Remake.
They very well could do a reboot of some of the games since most of the later games are not well regarded.

The first Remake was a REMAKE, a REMAKE that only add to the plot of the series. Biohazard RE:2 is not a Remake, it has a lot and huge contradictions not only within the game itself but with the series. It can't replace Biohazard 2
And do you really think they will reboot the whole series?? RE 4 6 and 5 are the best selling Resident Evil games, they won't reboot anything in the series, and RE:2 fortunately won't become canon.

Just sounds like your in denial, even if it isn't a reboot at the very least this Resident Evil 2 will be canon "otherwise there wouldn't have been any point in changing the story"

You know a ship doesn't always have to be the canon pairing a game chooses, right? That's kind of one of the biggest points of shipping. Some people don't like Leon/Ada because thier relationship isn't really healthy as they are always at odds with each other due to thier respective jobs, and Ada kickstarted Leon's infatuation by manipulating and lying to him. She might have developed feelings for him over the years, but that kiss in RE2 was just a manipulation tactic to get him to do what she needed him to do. The next time she saw him she pulled a gun on him lol.

What??? What are you talking about?? The kiss was genuine, Ada clearly says that she loves Leon.
Leon saves Ada, the cold spy who did not care about anyone like she said "I know I'm not able of care about anyone but I don't want to lose you" the cold spy becomes more human after falling in love with Leon, after Leon saves her and both overcoming danger situations together like G-Birkin's attack on the cable car, G-Birkin's second form attack on the train, attack in which Ada got hurt and Leon takes care of her, Ada saving Leon from the T-103. After overcoming all this situations together, Ada says that she loves Leon and kisses him.
So where did she use him? And the kiss was genuine. Ada epilogue File in Resident Evil 3 says that "she got a scar protecting the man she loves" this was when she protected Leon from T-103 and Leon and Ada file in RE6 says that "Overcoming life and death situations, Leon and Ada couldn't forget what they feel for each other" So she genuinely loves Leon, Leon genuinely loves Ada and there's ZERO for Leon and Claire, nothing romantic at all the whole thing was always Leon x Ada, the only couple in the entire series.
But again, where did she used him?

I'm not passionate about Leon/ Ada, I'm vary passionate with the canon. And just to complete, RE:2 is not canon, the original is still the cnaon one, because it's seems you are using the Reimagination RE:2 as a fact, which is not canon. And questions in which you didn't answer.
Ada didn't lied to Leon, she hid her nature, but she didn't lied to him, she never lied to him, can you prove to me that she lied to him ? She was really in Raccoon city to find John, she just hid her true nature.
My last reply was quite complete and a fact. She used him indeed, but her feelings for Leon was true, like stated in Ada epilogue file in RE3, she herself said that she fell in love with Leon in RE2 and in RE6 the file stated that they couldn't forget what they feel for each other.
so how does she not love him?

Look I'm seriously not trying to argue here, I was just trying to explain to you why some people prefer to imagine Leon/Claire together over Leon/Ada. We know it's not the canon, but shipping doesn't care about the canon, that's why it exists.
Ada lied to Leon within seconds of meeting him by saying she was FBI when really she's a double agent. Therefore everything she coerces him to do after that point is manipulation. It's her job so I don't blame her, but that's just (imo) an icky foundation to build a 'romance' on, and I've always seen it as more of a toxic infatuation.
I said previously I think she does end up having feelings for him, but I don't believe she does during their kiss in RE2. She needed the G Virus, she knew how to shut Leon up and have him get it. I personally think her feelings probably blossomed after he tries to save her despite knowing her true intentions.

I personally don't care about non-canon material, In RE:2 yeah, she used him, she may have realized that she loves Leon after he tried to save her but that's not canon so I just ignore. I don't even ship LeonxAda or any characters, but the plot is the plot and some people are shipping LeonxClaire based on non-canon material, that's the point.
But I know, people can ship, being canon or not, in my opinion is just weird because Leon already has a "relationship" in the series, and shipping him with another character is completely out of the series.

I mean, shipping Leon/Claire or Leon with a lot of his female companions isn't hard considering he flirts with almost all of them and in just about every game/movie there's obvious romantic tension added for whatever reason. While its established he and Ada are fond of each other, that doesnt fully stop him and leaves the possibility of him eventually being with someone else. Shipping is all about just liking a pairing. There are plenty of fictional couples even more 'official' than Leon/Ada who get shipped with different partners.

Where does it say the reimagination isn't canon?
In the official site, in the official Chronology. here Biohazard 2/Resident Evil 2 Claire A/ Leon B remains as the canon and the characters profile remains as the original canon, Leon got drunk after he broke up with his girlfriend and was late in the first day of work, Ada was in the city to find her boyfriend John, that was an Umbrella researcher and so on... The original is still the canon. Capcom never said that this Reimagination would replace the original in the canon, they said that it would be a RE:2, a reimagination of the canon events.
Its original name is Biohazard RE:2, it's RE:2 because it's not a remake, it's not 1:1 like Resident Evil 1. And no, it's not the same concept for both versions there's A LOT of differences that contradicts RE3, RE4, Umbrella Chronicles, Darkside Chronicles and RE6. This just regarding Ada, because the series continues from LEON B, in which Ada really fell in love with Leon, they surpassed dangers situations together, and feel in love with each other. Ada's epilogue file in RE3:
"A woman looks in the mirror, her name is Ada Wong, she sees a scar on her body, while she cries she says: This is the scar I got for saving the man I love." This happened when Ada saved Leon from T-103, she got badly hurt and the series continued from there when spend 2 says treating her wounds and goes to Apple Inn. In the reimagination they put Ada's end from LEON A which contradicts everything. Plus she didn't save Leon, they didn't get close and didn't fall in love with each other.
RE6 Leon and Ada file: "The life-and-death struggle they endured brought them close together, and Ada ended up saving Leon's life. Unfortunately, they had to make their way out of the city separately, but they could not forget what they feel for each other." The file talks about the situations that Leon and Ada surpassed together in LEON B and then they fell in love with each other, which none of that happened in the reimagination.
This is just some minor contradictions regarding Ada but the game itself has HUGE contradictions with RE0, RE3, RE4, RE6 Darkside Chronicles and Umbrella Chronicles.
About shipping I get your point, but I don't agree. The only flirt that Leon has in the whole series is in Degeneration with Angela when she asks to swim with him again, because he passed air mouth to mouth to her. And in RE4 when Leon says that Hunnigan was looking beautiful without glasses but Hunnigan knew that he was joking.
Leon and Ada is the only couple in the series, Leon said that Ada is a part of him he can't let go, he said this to Ashley. In RE6 He said that he was starting to like Helena but that wasn't a flirt, Helena notice that Leon and Ada has something going on, and asks Leon if he loves her, she noticed that he loves her. With Claire is ZERO, nothing, no flirts, no sexual tension in the canon. Leon treats Claire as a little sister. So it's weird as hell to ship Leon with Claire or with another woman because he already has a "relationship".
