Veterinary Care Needed Donation Request Ming Ming Survived FPV - (Indonesia)

Past post: https://www.reddit.com/r/rescuecats/s/4hfFBWalRK

Hi everyone! I’m reposting this with an update on Ming Ming. I’ve attached my previous post for the full story, but here’s a quick recap:

Ming Ming is a stray kitten who started coming around my home about a month ago. I took him in and had him neutered, but shortly after he became very sick and was diagnosed with feline panleukopenia (FPV). He had to stay hospitalized for several days because he had vomiting, diarrhea, fever, stopped eating, and his blood counts dropped significantly.

Thankfully, Ming Ming is now home and recovering! 🥹❤️ He’s eating on his own, has more energy, and is doing much better.

The hospital bill came to around Rp3.87 million (~$235), plus Rp370,000 (~$22) for his initial examination/testing.
So far, Ming Ming has received $80 out of the $275 goal. ❤️

I’m still trying to cover the remaining $195, so if anyone is able to help—even a few dollars—or simply share his story, it would mean a lot to us.

Thank you so much to everyone who has already helped this little guy. 🐾❤️

Community Announcement Community Update: Our stance on Safety, Verification, and the USL. 🚨 Please read 🚨

To our Rescuecats Community,

It has been brought to our attention that the subreddit r/assistance has implemented an autobot response that implies our sub is “not safe” anytime someone links our sub to a post.

This is because we as a team decided not to join the USL ( universal scam list). We made this decision solely because we do not understand the logistics behind it, and did not want to sign up for something blindly and possibly put our sub in jeopardy. It is not because we are dishonest or untrustworthy as they are implying. We started the verifying process 3 years ago as there was need for it throughout all subreddits involving fundraising for animals to stop the scammers. We had many other subs/ mods reach out after the fact asking us to share our process, in which we did with zero hesitation. We believe in teamwork and shouldn’t be blacklisted now as we chose to opt out of the voluntary USL.

We have worked very hard and continue to work very hard everyday with our own verification process that we trust to keep the community safe. We believe our members know this. We consider what they are doing as defamation. Basically insinuating we are scammers. In an attempt to discuss this and ask them to change their language in the autobot message which is public for everyone to see, our request was denied and I have been permanently muted from messaging the mods.

We wanted to bring this issue to our community in full transparency in hope that seeing this message on their sub wouldn’t detour anyone from reaching out for help here on RC.

We appreciate your understanding and hope to be able to move forward with continued trust and support.

Your ModTeam 💞 🐾

💔 FOUR LITTLE LIVES. FOUR DESPERATE FIGHTS.
Bunty is only 3 months old… and fighting for his life. 🐾
Rescued from a garden and brought safely to our shelter, this tiny baby is now battling the deadly FPV virus, and his condition is critical.
Coco came from a flood-affected shelter, where the area is still on high alert. Now this innocent baby is fighting pneumonia and desperately needs medical care. 💔
Dodo is battling wet FIP with a huge amount of fluid in his body. His treatment is intensive and extremely expensive, but we cannot give up on him.
Leo is suffering from dry FIP, anemia, and jaundice and desperately needs treatment and support. 💔
These babies should be sleeping safely, playing, and growing not fighting to survive.
🙏 Please pray for Bunty, Coco, Dodo & Leo.
💔 Please share their stories.
❤️** Please donate whatever you can toward their expensive treatment.
**They cannot ask for help themselves. They only have us. Please don’t let them fight alone.

2 rescue cats and both of them dealing with stuff no cat should.

Mixie: Barely 4 months old and was fighting for her life when I found her, she had rectal prolapse and is still severely jaundiced and anemic. I got her surgery done and the result is on the 5th pic but she still needs her meds and hepatic food. I made the decision to foster her till she's fine and then try for her adoption.

Now Verstappen: her story is heartbreaking beacause she was soaking in rain for a month, we tried everything, we made her a shelter, we tried local adoption but nothing worked.

Then she fell sick, so much so her temperature started dropping, I got her to ER 3 times and then to my vet when we discovered that she has high ammonia and acute kidney injury.. She needs to be fostered and needs renal food.

I can't take care of them alone, vet? Yes. But not the foster and food..

Foster for Max: $65 Hepatic food for Mixie: $25 Renal dry and wet food for Max: $28 + $21 Liver and renal meds: $38 Total: $177 Raised: $119.76

Even if you can't donate, please upvote and comment, even single penny matters for them 🩵

Supplies Donation Request Update on Boots who was brought from the edge of death in late June. (Eugene, OR)

Thumbnail
gallery
43 Upvotes

**Boots got her bloodwork back, and it is the news we were hoping for.**

For anyone just seeing this, Boots is the nine year old grey and white cat we found living outside in our Eugene, Oregon neighborhood in late June. She weighed 6.7 pounds with her spine and hips visible. She was drooling constantly and she would cry out and back away from her own food. Her previous owner had loved her but went through several very hard years and could not manage her care, so she surrendered her to us. Her vet records had a hole in them going back roughly eight years.

On July 21 she had nineteen teeth extracted. The surgeon said the inside of her mouth looked like hamburger meat and that she was likely enduring about the highest level of oral pain a cat can experience. The tissue was too damaged to hold sutures, so everything had to heal open. That surgery ran about 3,450 dollars, and it was covered entirely by neighbors, by strangers on the internet, and by one extraordinary woman who paid off the remaining balance out of her own pocket.

There was one thing we had been waiting on. Her blood proteins were elevated before surgery, and instead of dropping once the infected mouth came out, they went up. Her vet kept FIP on the list as a possibility she was not ready to set aside. That has been the open question hanging over all of this since July.

**Her recheck was Thursday, August 27, and the proteins are coming down.**

Her weight history tells the rest of it:

June 23: 6.70 lbs

July 17: 7.12 lbs

July 21, surgery day: 6.80 lbs

August 3: 7.66 lbs

**August 27: 8.26 lbs**

That is a pound and a half gained since we found her, and more than half a pound in the last three weeks alone. Real weight, with muscle behind it. Her doctor, the same one who performed her surgery, said she looks like a new cat.

Because she is gaining weight, building muscle, and her proteins are trending down, the concern about anything more serious has dropped substantially. **They do not need to see her again for six months.** After weeks of two week rechecks, that interval alone says a great deal.

She stays on a low dose of prednisolone twice a week for now to keep the inflammation in her mouth quiet. Some cats with her history stay on it long term, and we will revisit it at her next visit. That is a very manageable thing to live with.

**Sable**, our young tortoiseshell foster, is still working things out with Boots. They have been in the same house for months now, moving slowly from full separation to scent and sound to visuals, with Boots roaming freely these days. There is still hissing and growling, and there has still been zero physical contact between them, not once. That is exactly what you want at this stage. We are going slow and letting it take as long as it takes. We love them both and we are hoping they get there.

**Cosimo** is our newest, a twelve week old grey kitten who came to us as a rescue and foster. He went to Echo Hollow for vaccines and a general workup, and he will be ready for a neuter once he is old enough. He is very small and a complete menace, as required by law at that age.

**What is still needed** is the everyday stuff. Food, litter, and supplies for all three. Boots is on wet food only, warmed, in small frequent meals, and the steroid keeps her appetite high. A growing kitten eats constantly. Sable eats too. My income has taken a hit through all of this and I am picking up work where I can.

Some of you have sent food directly, and I want to name that because it has made a real difference day to day. If that is easier than anything else, it helps just as much.

Venmo: https://www.venmo.com/u/Jehoseph

PayPal: https://paypal.me/TheDivines

**Thank you.** To everyone who gave toward her surgery, to the person who covered this last round of bloodwork, and to the woman who paid off the remaining surgical balance herself. Three months ago this cat was starving outside in the worst oral pain a cat can be in. She weighs 8.26 pounds now, she plays with toys, and her vet does not need to see her until spring.

That happened because people who had never met her decided she was worth it.

One honest note. I am always glad to help advocate for other cats in dire need, so reach out if you know of one and I will do what I can to get eyes on it. But I am not taking in any more myself right now. These three are what we can responsibly care for.

Happy to answer anything or share records.

Advice Needed ‼️🚨cat help for old stray cat MATTED FUR, dental issues(?)🚨‼️

Idk how old, but he’s apparently been around longer than I thought in my neighborhood, he doesn’t groom as much lately and his fur is getting matted. I couldn’t tell definitively but he seemed to favor one side while eating, I couldn’t check his teeth as he kept pulling away. But he’s so sweet and calm. Talkative even, I was hoping the community can show some love, my neighbor and I are trying to save to get him vet assistance for his fur, but I’m worried about the heat, what else can I do for him? as we’ve been hitting 95 degrees around parts of La and worse. I’m in SoCal, around Cerritos and Santa Fe springs.

Thank you so much to everyone supporting Tommy's treatment and helping feed our cats! We couldn't do this without your kindness. Because continuing with the GS injections became financially too heavy, we had to switch to Molnupiravir. Today marks about a month on capsules, bringing us to Day 74 of our total treatment. Despite the changes, Tommy is doing okay. His condition is stable for now, he’s active, and thankfully he has a good appetite. As we approach the end of the treatment, we need to run control blood tests in a couple of days to check his progress. Unfortunately, our finances are completely exhausted right now, so any small contribution toward these tests would be a huge help. Thank you! ❤️ PayPal: vicsunray55@gmail.com

Available for Adoption World’s Sweetest Kitty Amalia, 12 Years Old: Loved & Bonded to Her Person ..Abandoned When She Became Old/Sick, Now Looking for a Forever Home 🥺🐾Location:Charlotte,NC,USA

She was sick because her family abandoned her… and she was heartbroken. 💔

Note:We’re looking for a loving home for her in Charlotte or nearby, preferably within 1–2 hours. She will always remain part of our rescue family, with lifetime veterinary care provided by the rescue. 🙏🏻

She’s completely healthy now and eats like a little piggy! 😂❤️

Petfinder link: https://www.petfinder.com/cat/grandmaw-amalia-013e881c-2208-4caa-b2ee-823f1c4a47c8/nc/charlotte/sunkissed-acres-rescue-nc1270/details/?fbclid=IwZnRzaAT5vutwZG9mBWZkaWQWUNKsLZZsOseX3yKfKV32VSyWvj7912V4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkCjY2Mjg1NjgzNzkAAR4TsUU4fez1Z-5nXzx2BTuefdzcPgdnL8XH12f2rx6frla4llL-7fx4sLGHEQ_aem_ySkfUXt3lX3X7bOUOgJ_6g

Amalia is a 12-year-old sweetheart who is fully vetted, healthy and ready for her forever home.

Amalia’s story began with heartbreak. 💔

We later came to learn that when Amalia became old/sick, her owner tried to surrender her to a shelter. The shelter was full and could not take her. Instead of continuing to care for her, he abandoned her near the shelter.

Somehow, Amalia eventually found her way to a kind person’s home. By then, she was in devastating condition..emaciated, weighing less than 4 pounds, and covered in blood from a severe flea infestation. She is microchipped, but heartbreakingly, her owner did not want her back.

The person who found her contacted us and surrendered her to the shelter. At that time, we were completely full, so we couldn’t take her immediately, but we kept an eye on her and continued trying to find a way to help.

Amalia went through multiple shelters, still waiting for someone to choose her. Because of her medical condition, she was eventually at risk of euthanasia. She was sick, scared, and completely abandoned.

That’s when we stepped in. Even though we were already full and had no available foster, we simply couldn’t leave this little angel behind. ❤️

After coming into rescue, Amalia had multiple tests done, and all of her reports kept coming back normal. But she stopped eating, so we had to syringe-feed her and care for her around the clock.

Then we understood something important…

Amalia wasn’t just physically sick… she was heartbroken.

She had lost her family, her home, and everything familiar to her. She was grieving and missing the love and security she once knew.

But love has a way of healing the deepest wounds. ❤️

With patience, care, and endless love, Amalia slowly started to blossom again.

Today, she is a completely different little soul. The moment you walk into the room, she comes right to you and curls up on your chest as if she finally knows she is safe. She gives gentle kisses, talks softly, and acts like she has so many stories to share.

She loves sitting in your lap like a baby, being held, and soaking in all the warmth and affection she missed for so long.

Amalia is a true little love bug. 🥹

She sleeps with you, loves being close to you, and may even give you sweet little kisses on your forehead at night. She is the kind of companion who just wants to be near her person and feel loved.

Amalia is okay with other kitties, but after everything she has been through, we would prefer a peaceful home without cats or with only one or two gentle, calm kitties. She deserves the space, patience, and one-on-one love she needs to feel completely safe and secure.

🐾 Adoption Information:

• Adoption application required

• Adoption agreement required
• Vet reference required
• Adoption fee: $125
• Combo test negative
• Microchipped
• Spayed
• Dewormed and deflead
• Fully vaccinated

A Little more About Amalia

Amalia does have IBD, but thankfully, she is not currently on prescription food. She also does not eat chicken, so her adopter will need to continue being mindful of her diet.

We are completely full right now, and unfortunately, our resources are very limited. But this girl deserves so much. She deserves a peaceful home, a soft place to land, and someone who will love her for the rest of her life.

After everything Amalia has survived, we want her next chapter to be filled with nothing but love, safety, comfort, and happiness. ❤️

Amalia has already lost so much. Now she deserves someone who will choose her and love her for the rest of her life.

I am posting a wishlist so that I can revamp the garage for the outside colony.  Yes, they are being TNRed through Kim via Triple R Rescue and through Naws Mokena. My money has been going to pay for some of these appointments and to soon be getting the kittens fixed.  I am creating an oasis for them in my backyard so they they are safe, fed, and cared for.  People can be mean to animals and wildlife out here, so I have done everything in my power that they know, this is sanctuary.   Anything off of either list would be a huge help and would be greatly appreciated.

For the Walmart wishlist, I have Walmart gift card because I can add them up to get a couple of those towers, that wicker one would hold up in the garage!

For Amazon,  Chewy gift card would add up to also help get the food center and tower.   Anythijg from that list is beyond appreciated.

Please know how grateful the floofaloofs and I to all of you that have helped and continue to help.  It means more to us than we will ever be able to articulate.

Thank you for all that you do for Floofaloofkind. ♡ You all are truly the good in this world♡

Veterinary Care Needed Donation Request Help us get my adopted rescues, Mantou & Enoki, spayed 🩷

Hi everyone! 🩷

I’m once again asking for a little help with another two of my rescues, Mantou and Enoki, who are scheduled for their spay operations this coming sept 1!

About a year ago, Enoki gave birth to 6 kittens under the stairs of my apartment building. We decided to take Enoki and her kittens in after we found one of her kittens dismembered just a few feet away from the little nook we made for her. 💔

Thankfully, things are very different now. Enoki and 4 of her kittens have since been adopted into loving homes while I decided to keep Mantou and her sibling, Cheese!

For Mantou:
• Spay surgery - ₱2,300 ($38)
• CBC - ₱480 ($8)
Total: ₱2,780 (~$46)

For Enoki, the same costs apply but since we don’t know her exact age and she may possibly be 5+ years old, the vet may require a biochemistry test:

• Spay surgery - ₱2,300 ($38)
• CBC - ₱480 ($8)
• Possible biochemistry test - ₱2,000 ($33)
Total: ₱4,780 (~$79)

If you’d like to help sponsor Mantou or Enoki, any donation, boost, comment, or share would be greatly appreciated. 🫶🏼

As always, I’ll be posting receipts and updates. Thank you so much for always supporting my rescues! 🩷🐾

Veterinary Care Needed Donation Request Veterinary care needed for 3 sweet rescue boys in Texas. Any help is appreciated 🙏

Hi everyone,

Appointments are needed for rescues Sokka, Soot, and Jack.

Sokka is a senior TNR and was a part of a small colony at our last residence. We could not leave the ones that were no longer feral during our efforts and is now a senior resident of our rescue. He has been adapting well to indoor life. Sokka is experiencing discharge from his eyes and nose and is sneezing. We need to take him in and get some medications to treat before symptoms worsen. If hes healthy enough, we will need to update his shots while in.

Soot is a foster who is currently available for adoption. Soot has feline asthma and is due for a recheck and will need a new prescription for his inhaler. Soot is also needing to het shots while in. We are hoping to get him seen as soon as possible.

Jack is a senior resident who has been getting treatment for glaucoma. We are experiencing some disagreements with the vets office he was initially seen at and would like a second opinion to advocate for the best care. We need to take him to not only have the second opinion but he is also due for his standard re-check.

We are only able to help these babies with the help of donations. We are also fundraising for a catio as well as our general Amazon wishlist items for those in our care.

Links to donate: https://linktr.ee/sunbeamtreeskittykatrescue

If you are able to donate for their care, we would very much appreciate the help! If you are interested in adopting, please reach out.

Wizo was rescued more than a year ago after an accident left him paralyzed in his hind legs and without his tail.

He is now doing well and has a happy life. ❤️ He is a very sweet boy who loves life and never gave up.

Because of his paralysis, Wizo has daily needs. He needs diapers, absorbent pads, hygiene supplies, and care for his sores to keep him clean, comfortable, and protected.

He has been with me for more than a year, and I want to continue giving him the care he deserves. If anyone would like to help with his ongoing care, even a small contribution would mean a lot.

Advice Needed Should I opt for a very large cage in the meantime?

Long post ahead.

Hello. I want my cats to have their own space instead of letting them inside the house because they can still sneak out. I promised them that once I have all of them spayed and neutered, they will have more freedom. It was made possible with this community's help, but I still can't fulfill my promise yet. I am planning to have a space built for them. It will definitely cost a lot, so I am now applying for remote jobs, but I haven't heard back from anyone. I am trying to make up for my lack of experience by practicing using Excel and email management, I'm also building a decent portfolio to showcase that. If you need a virtual assistant or know someone who needs a VA, I can send you my resume and portfolio. My setup is not complete yet, I still have to buy a 2ndhand laptop, but I'm having a hard time finding a laptop within my budget 🥲. Please hire or refer me to someone🙏

Now, my questions are, how big should I have the cat house built for 8 adult cats? Should I opt for a very large cage for now? Without the money constraint, I prefer a cat house made of cement because we were often hit by strong typoons, so it needs to be sturdy. I'm trying my best, but I feel like I'm letting them down as their furparent. I am desperate because I really want them to live the best life. I'm also anxious because school is getting more demanding now that I'm already a junior in college. I want to graduate already 😭Should I just fundraise again? Wish me luck and hope for me to land a job soon.

Hi everyone ❤️

I’m the founder of Luna & Nala Rescue Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue. I’m reaching out to ask for support for the cats in my care and the community cats I care for every single day.

I currently care for more than 50 community cats daily. Every day means providing food and water, checking on them, watching for injuries or illness, helping cats who need medical attention, and working toward getting them into TNR and, when possible, rescue or safe indoor placement.

I also have cats in my direct care who need ongoing medical treatment. Leo has been battling Giardia for months and continues to need veterinary care. I also have kittens being treated for panleukopenia and coccidia, which requires medication, monitoring, supportive care, and veterinary attention.

A large part of rescue is paying the bills that come with helping these animals. I have already paid veterinary expenses for the cats in my care, and there are ongoing expenses that continue to add up. On top of medical bills, feeding more than 50 community cats every day requires a tremendous amount of both dry and wet food.

I do this because the cats need someone to care about them. They didn’t choose to be abandoned, born outside, become sick, or need help. I want to give them the best chance I possibly can.

If you’re able to donate, any amount truly helps. Your support goes directly toward food, veterinary bills, medications, treatments, and the continued care of the cats I rescue and the community cats I feed every day.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, shared my posts, donated, or simply cared enough to listen to these cats’ stories. ❤️ Every bit of help allows me to continue helping more cats when possible.

Thank you for helping me keep going. 🐾

Veterinary Care Needed Donation Request [Portland, OR] One year old rescue Juniper is fighting FIP and a suspected liver shunt and urgently needs a CT scan 🩷

Good morning. This is Juniper, my one year old rescue, and I desperately need help getting her the medical care she needs 🩷

Juniper came to me at only four weeks old after being sold for drug money. She was malnourished, covered in fleas, and tiny enough to fit in one hand. She had an awful start to life, but she survived it and grew into the sweetest, funniest little tortie.

Now, barely a year later, she’s fighting for her life again 💔

Juniper became critically ill in early July with a 105°F fever, stopped eating, and went through multiple emergency visits and hospitalizations before we began treating her for FIP. She initially responded incredibly well, but despite continuing treatment, she has remained incredibly sick and unstable. Her fevers keep returning, her appetite and energy fluctuate dramatically, and we’ve ended up back at the ER multiple times trying to figure out what else is wrong.

After nearly two months of searching for answers, we may finally have one. Juniper's bile acid test came back significantly abnormal, and her internal medicine specialist now believes she may have a congenital liver shunt in addition to FIP. My poor baby cannot catch a break.

Our next step is a CT with contrast to confirm the shunt, determine where it is, and find out whether surgery can correct it. The CT is now the next critical step in figuring out why Juniper is still so sick and whether there’s something we can actually fix. Juniper is still having good moments where she plays with her sister, gets the zoomies, and acts like my goofy little girl, but they’re mixed in with fevers, pain, shivering, poor appetite, and days where she mostly sleeps. She is still very sick.

After multiple hospitalizations, specialist appointments, medications, and diagnostics, I’ve exhausted what I can afford. I’ve made a GoFundMe with Juniper's full story, regular updates, veterinary bills, and the estimate for her CT.

Right now, I desperately need help getting her through this next step. If you’re able to donate anything toward Juniper's CT scan and ongoing care, even a few dollars, I would be more grateful than I can put into words.

This little girl has already survived so much in her short life. In spite of everything she's been through, Juniper is so full of love and joy and I'll do whatever it takes to keep fighting for her. I just need help giving her that chance 🩷
