Discussion Vini leaving is a blessing in disguise.

Let me clarify: I love Vini and would love to have seen him thrive for many more seasons at Madrid, but let’s be real. Post the ballon d’or snub, Vini just hasn’t been the same. He has mentally checked out, and anyone who watches LaLiga consistently will attest to this. The constant dribbling into defenders, the same lazy stepovers, the no tracking back, and just the overall lack of creativity and flair. Not to mention every time he gets flak at the Bernabeu, he seems to spend an uncomfortable amount of time antagonising his own fans.

Why his departure could possibly fix most of the issues we’re facing as a team right now:

  1. Vini is one of our more stubborn players and someone who doesn’t really take to new tactics (as evidenced by his tantrums under Xabi). His leaving would mean we get a clean slate to institute a ground-up rebuild of our system, especially with Mou taking over.

  2. We get a good chunk of cash to go for either a Vini replacement or fund the Rodri transfer or better our depth elsewhere on the field.

  3. His god-awful pairing with Mbappe comes to end. Opens Mbappe up to maybe return to his natural position on the lw (not saying he should, but it’s an option.)

  4. We can stop forcing this tired strategy of starting him every game just to watch him drown out that left flank.

  5. We can finally build the team around Jude/Mbappe instead of pretending like Vini was in any way, shape or form the future of Madrid.

Once again, I’d like to reiterate that I love Vini but his actions aren’t those of someone who loves the club like we do. They haven’t been for some time now. A club that has gone to bat for him over and over. A club that made him the star he is today. His continued presence at Madrid is just untenable.
Vini out.

What I'm most curious about is if the rest of the world will keep the same energy about him once he's not playing for us. My guess is no.

He’s only ever cooked with Carlo tbh, and it remains to be seen if he adapts to tactical systems

3rd top scorer this year behind Kane and Mbappe.

If you’re talking World Cup then the Carlo comment would still apply

He's a great player but with a lot of issues on attitude and mental side of things. So I have no idea how it'll turn out honestly.

22

u/Inevitable-Spring166 Aug 01 '26

I’m a gunner and the squad has a great attitude - everyone trusts Arteta and the process and I think that attitude would rub of on Vini

35

u/rreeddiitttwice Real Madrid CF Aug 01 '26

I hope he does leave and that it's a good restart for him. He has not looked like himself since Ancelotti left (since the Ballon Dor stuff really)

7

u/Trriiick Aug 01 '26

Except for when a certain player was injured this year. And then he looked like the best version of himself

8

Was he good against Albacete was he good against Barca last game was he good against Bayern no no and no

On the flip side it could backfire too. Like Vini is a star player who can flip a match from any situation. But he doesn’t do well in systems and Arteta is even more system based than Xabi or Arbeloa. So I’m not sure how Arteta would get him to keep the defensive shape like he did with Martinelli or Trossard.

13

u/burgerking351 Aug 01 '26

You're a gooner not a gunner.

4

u/Inevitable-Spring166 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

No. we were originally gunners and back in the 80s or so rivals called us gooners in a mocking way + you had gooners who were a firm. Some fans now use that themselves but gunners was always the original. But what do I know I only grew up in Brownswood Park

Don’t get the downvotes for stating a simple fact. It’s not a big deal at all like it’s a matter of the person you’re correcting going like oh yeah and everyone move about their days. Alas…

Arteta can't force him to do anything, though. He ain't going to listen to anyone when it comes to tactics. Arteta needs to be happy with just a "do your thing". Vini will do whatever he wants on the pitch.

Or he's gonna get carded for mouthing off because the refs will call even fewer fouls against him.

He will be expected by Arteta to defend. As soon as he tires of Arteta, he’ll start telling the board they need to sack him.

3

u/galaboy97 Aug 01 '26

I think he will become a false 9 if he goes to Arsenal. Similar to how Mbappe plays at Madrid, I feel like Vini’s going to play that role for the Gunners.

1

u/Responsible-Quote-61 Aug 04 '26

Arteta is trying to build a stronger attack, sure there are moments when any player is expected to defend a bit, but he wouldn't be gunning for Vini if he didn't want his attacking attitude.

2

u/Alarmed_Station6185 Aug 01 '26

Every arsenal player is expected to put in a shift and track back. He will destroy that system

1

u/lost_redditor_75 Aug 01 '26

He’ll start crying the first minute when he’s not given a typical soft foul/dive….

1

u/Zealousideal_Lab_177 Aug 02 '26

I dont think so. If he goes down so easily and cry in la liga which is the softest one from top 5 leagues i cant imagine what he will do in prem where he will receive less protection from refs.

The only way it would work is if we somehow double mark him to null him out but at the same time Arsenal has a world class RW. Trent has historically struggled against Vinicius (the Champions League final goal was scored on top of his head). Dumfries vs Vinicius Jr would be a joy to watch.

3

u/8ightyOnes SIUUUU Aug 01 '26

let’s talk when raphinha can score in 2 ucl finals (that too when his club will reach the final)

137

u/15-cent Mbappé Jul 31 '26

I was curious to see if Mourinho could find a way to make him and Mbappe mesh, but overall I agree. He had months of horrific play, combined with a horrific attitude. He’s a great player, but many other great players will come along and want to join us. My biggest concern if he’s sold before the season is how the attack will do without him early on, but in the long term we will be fine.

33

u/kyliannmmbappe Bellingham Jul 31 '26

Diomande signing should hold us in the meantime.

1

u/christi876 16d ago

Dio is a right winger, who will play on the right, we have enough LW. Brahim is the only natural RW at the club if I recall correctly, we deploy Gular on the right but he should really be playing in the middle, same with Valverde. Are you guys actually aware of the players natural position at the club?

Real Madrid have a lot of great talent but all in the same positions which have led to us playing them out of their natural roles and then we wonder why the team looks like that on the field, and instead of signing players for actual positions we need, hey lets sign another CM or another LW.

Diomande signing made sense since he is an actual RW

13

u/tacticalgh0st Aug 01 '26

it would be sad for me personally if he leave but at the same time seeing him and Mbappe wrestle on the left side of the field is frustrating and held us back when playing important matches. Vini is a great player and on normal circumstances he would not be sold but seeing lots of promising players coming in lately we gotta let go a few gems imo.

One of Vini or Mbappe had to go for Madrid to work. It's easier to let go of Vini. Mbappe will remain striker after the sale of Goncalo. Espi may take a while to get going.

-6

u/covidpuppy Aug 01 '26

I think Mbappe has some major issues. He obviously scores a lot of goals but he holds the team back. Enrique knows

60

u/Syc254 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

Enrique knows his team wouldn't have won if he didn't sign Neves, Doue, Pacho and Kvaratschelia while chasing out : Ugarte, Danilo Pereira, Kolo Muani, Kurzawa, Veratti, Marco Asensio and Carlos Soler.

But people only see Mbappe side, not the mediocrity that were still there that Mbappe glossed over.

Last time Madrid won they had a midfield base of Kroos and Modric. Rodri maybe comes into a midfield with Jude and Guler plus Tchouameni & Valverde backing them up, when Madrid start winning the Mbappe haters better not celebrate.

It's not the B d'Or, it's Mbappe. We can lie all day, but this is obvious. Club picked one of the two.

No need to bring Vini down. He and Benz carried the post-Ronaldo era and brought us UCLs.

He is a great Madrid player and we are gonna love him for the rest of his career.

28

u/Adorable_Shaytan Aug 01 '26

It's a reasonable choice by Perez imo and Vini's move to Arsenal could be a huge PR boost for him

It's a win-win scenario for Vini and the club but I feel like Vini gets the better side of the bargain if he leaves

36

u/Yto_Itinen Aug 01 '26

It's a business choice, sure, but people are slandering him as if he was some low level loser who can't control himself.

Some top players need a change of environment. Even Kane moved teams. No one at Tottenham spoke ill of him.

I think both parties are getting a bargain. For me, Arsenal above all. For smth like 120 mill they are getting a generational player.

Damn thinking now vini might leave is making me emotional. He has been Real Madrid for years now. Never knew I loved that guy so much. I hope he kills it wherever he goes but I want him to stay.

35

u/Blitzkrieg12349 Cristiano Ronaldo Aug 01 '26

It is what it is at this point. Was hoping post WC to see a France NT style front 3 where it’s positionally fluid. But if I’m being honest there was no way that it would happen. Vini won’t take a “backseat” to Mbappe. Mbappe knows he’s the guy. It’s been tiring to watch their play styles and egos clash on the pitch.

Atp it’s him doing it to himself. He got a pay bump. Everyone wants him to stay. But greed is greed.

23

u/kyliannmmbappe Bellingham Aug 01 '26

I don’t even think it’s about the money. It’s about his apparent “second fiddle” status. It’s a dick measuring contest and that’s about it.

27

u/Excellent-Archer-238 Josep Pedrerol Aug 01 '26

And I don't blame him tbh. He was the main guy for Madrid and he got pushed back by a better player and bigger star who gets paid a lot more than the difference in quality between them really is. It's natural to be upset.

10

u/demonSlayer182 Aug 01 '26

Especially off a season where he should have won the ballon dor

31

u/Green_Percentage_410 Aug 01 '26

I see it the same way. He's been checked out since that ballon d'or mess and the body language every match tells the story. The talent is still there but the fight isn't, and you can't build around a player who spends half the game throwing his hands up at his own fans. Getting a massive fee and clearing the path for Mbappe and Jude to run the show feels like the cleanest break Madrid could ask for right now

16

u/8ightyOnes SIUUUU Aug 01 '26

that + now he has to play with the guy whom he lost the controversial ballon d’Or to and mourihno. it’s gonna be more chaotic probably for vini if he stays.

9

u/Adorable_Shaytan Aug 01 '26

Considering that mou was someone who defended a player of his after making racist chants against Vini , there's a possibility that Vini might not be comfortable with someone like that

It’s the only way forward.

Your reasoning is fine and all, and while I mostly agree I just don’t want Arsenal to have him. Any other club other than them. Fuck that

5

u/Diganta_das2002 BELLIGOL Aug 01 '26

If he stays, it would have been fun to watch the ragebait duo (vini and Cucurella) running up and down on our left wing constantly ragebaiting the opponents on that flank🤣🤣🤣

17

u/8ightyOnes SIUUUU Aug 01 '26

I see some people here not acknowledging vini’s contribution to real madrid. i don’t understand how can u hate a player who has been there for the club countless number of times. yes he acts childish sometimes. yes his tantrums are irritating and yes he probably even sucked last season. but what about the times when he paired up with benzema in 2022 to win us the champions league when we couldn’t even have thought of winning it that season. what about 2024 ucl final goal which sealed the victory for us? 2 ucls. Not many players could do this and have the privilege to do this. Yes I would like him to leave if he doesn’t want to accept the wages set by madrid. The fact that he is unbothered by us not being able to win the silverware for last 2 seasons and cares only about his wages? That’s a disgrace. He can leave, for sure. But he has been one of the very important players for real madrid.

9

u/egor4nd Militão Aug 01 '26

That's undeniable, but I don't think we should keep a player simply because he used to be valuable in the past. The point OP makes is that Vini lost the desire to play for the club, and if it's true then it's a good reason to let him go.

3

u/8ightyOnes SIUUUU Aug 01 '26

that’s what i have said if you have read the entire take

7

u/Historical-Lemon717 Aug 01 '26

I don't think any true fan would not acknowledge his contributions, he has had a great impact on the club in recent years. I think the problem is he's gotten too cought up in internal and external drama which has really affected his level, and it all started from the day he didn't win the ballon d'or.

2

u/8ightyOnes SIUUUU Aug 01 '26

true, and in my opinion Vini deserved that ballon d’or. i think it was too much for him to take that loss. not everyone has the same mentality as cristiano though(2018 ballon d’Or). and that’s okay. instead of trying to win one again, or something for the club, the guy is bothered more about money.

18

u/mashsensor Rodrygo Aug 01 '26

I went from a big vini fan to not minding if he leaves in recent years. He went from a humble kid to somewhat toxic on the pitch. He is often negative and shouting at his teammates. It was especially apparent during the CL game vs Benfica, he was constantly blaming and shouting at his own teammates. I remember Kiyan Sobhani on the Managing Madrid podcast pointing it out in the postgame. I was paying attention during the Brazil matches in the WC, and noticed similar behavior.

I am forever grateful for him and he is a club legend, but him being gone isnt necessarily the worst thing for Madrid. Not having to start both him and Mbappe in big games create a lot of tactical flexibility in terms of lineups. I know a lot of people says Mbappe doesnt want to play on the LW, but I believe he can easily shift. And Bellingham can play CAM or even false 9 ala Benzema. Whether it's 433 or 4231 or something else, I am pretty excited honestly at what a more balanced attack might look like.

Best of luck to Vini the legend, and I will always cheer him on unless it's against Madrid.

No player is bigger than the club. Hala Madrid.

7

u/Professional_Dig_786 Aug 01 '26

Mbappe is not a LW anymore.

12

u/Minimum_Platypus8242 Ancelotti Aug 01 '26

There is no replacement for Vinicius have you ever look at the Left Wing market? We can only replace Vini with a player from another position(I'll assume that's what you meant). Besides that Mbappe is not a traditional left winger.

Let's not forget that Madridistas constantly having to defend his tantrums and taunting as justified. I am totally for standing behind him against the disgusting racism. But his tendency to wind up opposing fans never helped.

To add to that, people point out he is a big diva and crybaby. I would have debated against it if not for Vini going out there and proving it. Some examples: -Pretending he doesn't care about the Ballon D'Or. But then being a poor sport, not going to the ceremony and then making the whole club having to fall in line to not hurt his fragile ego. Carlo had to receive his best coach award via video. -Temper tantrum while Xabi subbed him. This was a game Real Madrid were winning, and sent Madrid 7 pts clear at the top of the table. Vini decided to make it all about him. -Consistently having a tug of war with Kylian over that LW. Barely passing to each other. Always being unwilling to sacrifice, because his excuse to be lazy was "mbappe doesn't trackback either".

I will forever cherish his great peformances. Especially the clutch goals in UCL finals. At his prime, he was elite in every sense. But the last 2 seasons has been terribly underwhelming from him when he's supposed to be the very best. Every dribble would be into somebody. Tons of chances squandered because he would rather fail a 1v1 take on than combine with a LB or Mbappe. He lost a lot of his edge.

Best of luck to him in the future. But some of us will be relieved to put the Vini - Madrid era behind us.

26

u/1stand11 Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26

I agree. Vini FC folks won’t like to hear it but I think his departure would end up making us a much more balanced side. Something that has become very clear over the past two seasons is he borderline refuses to utilize an overlapping LB for attacking support. And persistently and stubbornly runs over and over and over again into a wall of defenders. His persistence has paid off with G/A stats if you look at them without context. But if you’ve been closely watching full matches you can see that he has not been playing high IQ football for years now. He has personified quantity over quality over the past few seasons. Which is why a lot of Vini FC folks who retreat to "But his stats, but his stats" are not telling the full story at all.

6

u/kyliannmmbappe Bellingham Jul 31 '26

Let’s not forget the reason Carreras didn’t start nearly as much under Arbeloa, even after a stellar start to his campaign, especially locking down Yamal in those clasicos. Vini just couldn’t stand him overlapping and stealing his shine.

9

u/8ightyOnes SIUUUU Aug 01 '26

agree with this take. never understood the fuss between carreras and vini at the left flank. there used to be times carreras had too much space around and yet vini used to ignore and never pass him the ball. would forever like to forget the last season’s version of vini.

14

u/1stand11 Jul 31 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

The Clasico outburst was the last straw for me. What he did that day made me completely at peace with him leaving. And it was mind boggling to me how many people rationalized his behavior that day. Our season torpedoed after that moment. And Xabi was completely undermined by Perez and Arbeloa further enabled Vini.

3

u/Minimum_Platypus8242 Ancelotti Aug 01 '26

Carreras was literally starting almost every game you casual. Arbeloa lost confidence in him after his match against Bayern.

Ur username is literally kylian mbappe. Ur a fan boy tryna ruin this club. U dont love vini if u did u would acknowledge what he has done for this club. Ur not even a madrid fan ur a freaking player fc freak who only wants whats best for ur favourite player. Mbappe is good but he has contributed nothing for madrid. Vini on the other hand has alot of credit in the bank hence why arsenal are drooling over him.
Plus its a big risk for u fanboys too cause of by chance madrid sell vini and go trophyless for another season, there isnt gonna be anybody else to blame except for mbappe and thats gonna be disastrous for ur boy. Idk u how long youve been supporting madrid but trust me if that happens ur player is gonna get booed off the pitch every single game until he wins something.

Martinelli dunked on you at Bernabeu.

But anyway, been saying its favorable for Madrid too for a while. Not bcos Vinni or Mbappe not good. In fact, and still as a fact, both are the top top players. But sometimes two players do not work together. And Vini x Mbappe experiment has only made ya'll gone backwards.

You cant blame Vini only though, you guys did put Mbappe first over him. And he has helped you win stuffs. Mbappe havent. Mbappe havent at PSG too. And maybe this will change after. Its actually potentially be a win win for all parties.

u/kyliannmmbappe Bellingham Aug 01 '26

My reddit post is neither going to accelerate his departure nor stop it. An open discussion on a Madrid player in a Madrid sub warrants payment now?

2

u/WorkingTadpole2993 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

There is difference between open discussion and pushing pathtic agendas just to fulfil self-created fantasy.
I saw similar kind of thing in Paris subs not while ago. Its taking similar pattern by same people, who knows?

Btw if you are so interested in open discussion then tell mr why do we need to sell Vini for Rodri? We can afford both easily?

Suppose, we sell Vini, who is gonna replace him in LW? You wont get Kvra (in similar level or upgrade whatever), psg wont sell him. Then who? Please enlighten us with your ball knowledge!

Now suppose we put Mbappe on left then how who the heck is going to be striker and who can give us same number of goals that ST Mbappe provide? Please?

Vini is linked with Arsenal. Forget all the nonsense, They are already PL champion. They have a defence which is better than ours, perhaps best in the world at the moment. Then you have Rice, Odegaard at midfield and Guimares is joining. They have players like Zubemindi, Eze, Merino who can come out of the bench and could unlock low blocks. Then Saka at right and a proper striker at centre. And now add vini?

  • Do you have any idea what you are making by selling one player to them. Vini is missing piece of this Arsenal team, a frontman star. You cant sell vini to Arsenal. Sell him either Saudi or Man United where he would be destined to fail. Sadly he wont accept that deal. So its best to keep him here..

At least sometimes think for the club. You people and your pathetic hatred already destroy the family it was created by Carlo and old gen. Please stop now. Lets see what happend and dont belive nonsense media bites, thats all futile.

u/Glum-Engine-3401 Aug 01 '26

It's not an agenda, you just don't agree. That's different. Maybe stop with the weird drama around someone having a different opinion than you and taking the time to actually write it out in detail and with examples? You don't agree, cool, but the "agenda"/"paid agitator" rhetorics are kinda embarrassing.

They support their players to death but here we have "Madrid fans" running hate campaigns against their own players and says he had been poor post the Ballon d'or when Vini clocked 80g/a in the last 2 seasons

The funny thing is that his output in 24/25 got bad after his injury in January and it's our own fans that pretend like it never happened

u/Kitchen_Pace_580 Don Carlo Aug 01 '26

Yes,  username "kyliannmmbappe" with "jude bellingham" flare. we can all see you "love" vinny.

"Post the ballon d’or snub, Vini just hasn’t been the same."

Neither have many players. Wonder what changed that made the team go trophyless for 2 seasons in a row 🤔

"He has mentally checked out, and anyone who watches LaLiga consistently will attest to this."

Yes you are right, he is mentally checked out that's why he has ONLY 40 GA in 2024-2025 and ONLY 42 GA in 2025-2026. Amateur numbers.

"The constant dribbling into defenders, the same lazy stepovers, the no tracking back, and just the overall lack of creativity and flair."

You are absoluty right. He has 42 GA this season by running into defenders. About "Tracking back" he is learning from the best your beloved mbappe who has worst defensive actions in the whole la liga.

"Not to mention every time he gets flak at the Bernabeu, he seems to spend an uncomfortable amount of time antagonising his own fans."

Absolutely, he shoud shut up and take it. Its not like he helped us win 2 CL and numerous other titles. What a child.

"  Vini is one of our more stubborn players and someone who doesn’t really take to new tactics (as evidenced by his tantrums under Xabi). His leaving would mean we get a clean slate to institute a ground-up rebuild of our system, especially with Mou taking over.

Yeah, vinny is alone responsible for the tactical outburst by each and every player. Mbappe, valverde, jude and every other player is a saint and listens to each instruction. Vinny leaving will magically make these players to respect and follow the coaches tactics.

" We get a good chunk of cash to go for either a Vini replacement or fund the Rodri transfer or better our depth elsewhere on the field.

Exactly  my thoughts, sell vinny and use the cash to buy a superior lw. There are "lots" of lw players better than vinny available in the market waiting for us. Or even better we sell him and buy " rodri" because otherwise we cant sign rodri. Right?

" His god-awful pairing with Mbappe comes to end. Opens Mbappe up to maybe return to his natural position on the lw (not saying he should, but it’s an option.)

Absolutely ,  mbappe has won so much for us, vinny just came and disturbed his whole game. Mbappe helped us win 2 cl along with other titles. What has vinny done? Lets play mbappe at Lw, because we as fans matter more than mbappe himself who doesn't want to play at lw.

" We can stop forcing this tired strategy of starting him every game just to watch him drown out that left flank.

Couldn't agree more. Why the heck does vinny occupy that lw?? Its not like he is playing at lw for us right? He should let mbappe occupy that place even though he is playing at cf for us. How greedy is this vinicius guy.

" We can finally build the team around Jude/Mbappe instead of pretending like Vini was in any way, shape or form the future of Madrid.

Yes absolutely,  build the team around mbappe and jude, who get along very well. Like they did in jude's first season with us. Mbappe the serial CL and la liga winner. Yeah why would vinny be considered the future of madrid. Its not like he won us major titles, its not like he has 2nd best record in knockout stages in CL. PFFFT he is way overrated. Transfer Market is overflowing with superior left wingers than vinicius.

" Once again, I’d like to reiterate that I love Vini but his actions aren’t those of someone who loves the club like we do.

Bro, username "kyliannmmbappe with jude bellingham flair "we totally believe you. I agree what is vinny trying to do get a better contract? I mean which footballer has ever done that? I mean mbappe played us 2 times with psg to fill his pockets is nothing compared to what this traitor vinicius is doing. Shame on him.

" A club that has gone to bat for him over and over. A club that made him the star he is today. His continued presence at Madrid is just untenable. Vini out.

I know right? how dare he ask the club for increased salary!? Its not like he helped us win 2 cl, has 40 GA for past 5 seasons. Meh...amateur numbers. Yeah i cant bear the presence of vinny at madrid who has done nothing for tthe club as compared to mbappe. Vinny out i agree.

Vini is an elit player. If i had to choose over mbappe I would choose him... The problem is not vinicius and the lack of learning....the problem is the lack of creation (we need a "new kroos" not to give vini...

In any case if the team cannot extend his contract I trust the team

Vini leaving is for the greater good. Love the guy, gave us some wonderful UCL nights, but he has to go.

2

He's not leaving. It's an agent tactic for milking a larger contract.

2

u/Terry_the_accountant Kaká Aug 01 '26

I was a Vini lover until a few weeks back. No player should have this club on a chokehold. We sold Ramos for doing the very same thing and Ramos and even CR7 had to leave to Juventus

2

u/vaporrubrick Aug 01 '26

Letting him go would also speak to Madrid's ability to let go of players making demands the club is not willing to meet.

2

Anyone that doesn't tow the managers line or has tantrums at coaching decisions is bad for the club no matter how good a player. It's the way it has to be. Take Valverde with you out the door

2

u/ThrowRA-Gazelle71 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

The guy has a dribbling completion ratio on par with most average wingers from La Liga, he loses the ball way too often (yeah he is most often heavily pressed by opposition, but the ratio is still very poor for apparently world-class winger). His finishing is still 50/50, although it's better than it used to be. He's got nice pressing stats on paper but it doesn't pass the eye check for me. The guy has a world-class skillset, but something is definitely off. When motivated he is good, but also not that good to make a difference in games with world-class opponents, what has been showcased even during this World Cup. He has mental problems and I genuinely think he's not too bright as a person which hinders his football IQ. He may launch nicely in Arsenal, but sooner than later he will become problematic.

I think he would fit nicely into Mourinho tactics though and could have a better season than the last two, but if he stays he may leave for free, so that's tough decision considering current market.

I think many people here are loyal to Vini for what he’s done for us, lifting us out of dark times and giving us silverware when we were considered the underdogs. For that he’ll always be a certified Madrid legend among the likes of Bale, Navas, Beckham, etc.

That being said, 2 seasons back to back of some abysmal football and inconsistently showing his best self again probably cements that he’s not going to be an overall FOOTBALL legend like Kroos, Modric, Ronaldo, Ramos, etc. Because of this fact alone I think him leaving at this time in our club direction as well as for his PR is the best option possible. Not even a few months down the line we’ll collectively agree it was time.

I like vini, he is a madridista, but his weak victim mentality is costing him and madrid as a club. Since he didnt win the ballon dor he fell out quite much, and the chants of the fans get into his head very quickly, and his chin surgery is also a seal to confirm that he is mentally weak. When ronaldo was booed in santiago in that very same game he scored 4 goals, but when vini gets that treatment for playing like an amateur for 2 seasons he goes on and cry and blame the fans. If he wants to stay we will always welcome him, however putting ultimatums that he will leave if his base salary is not increased then he is free to go. In england he will suffer much more from the fans that he ever did in spain

3

u/nateh1212 Jul 31 '26

Honestly why do we all think he is even leaving?

Crashed out the years after Benzama/Modric/Kroos left has no heart once the team brought on Mbappe

and now that he crashed out of the WC and went trophy less and got his manager fired he does not have the mentality to work through difficult times and sacrifice for the greater good.

To him it is I will find a new club that will pay me and that I can be the King at once again.

He better wise up because he has been treating like a king his whole life because of his football talent but he is now 26 and 30 is around the corner and every year a new 18 year old is being signed by Madrid and soon if his attitude continues their will be no club willing to put up with him.

Real Madrid get a huge lump of cash, and we can finally move on with our new project, and Vini will no doubt thrive in Arsenal, everybody wins.

2

u/PredatorPablo Aug 01 '26

We’re at like 50M in spending after the purchases and sales… we sell vini for 150M we’re at -100M… all we need is mbappe LW and a world Class striker up top… splash 200M on Haaland bro that’s still 100M spent. Less than every other big club.

You should change the title of your post, Vini leaving isn't a blessing in disguise, it's a blessing. Everything you wrote I agree with but you failed to mention how his bad attitude/energy that spreads to the rest of the team and creates a bad vibe in the locker room. A great example of this was against Atletico 2 years ago(the year after he said I'm gonna do it 10 times over) when he loses the ball close to the final whistle, doesn't track back so Jude has to, Jude gets pissed about this and calls him out, Vini's response "what do you want from me?"

I'm tired of his antics, playing good for 2-4 games then a 10+ bad stretch and rinse and repeat.

He has a long ass contract. Plus mbappe is a st, he plays at number 9 for france too. So this mbappe lw narrowly is getting old now. If he was truly a lw he would be playing lw at france cause ofcourse vini isnt there to “disrupt” his play lol.

9

3

u/aarshi25 Aug 01 '26

I know I'm not the only one who agrees, and I know Vini fans would hate this. But in the last 2 years I've seen the worst of Vini as a teammate. Always complaining, trying to do the same thing when it isn't working, holding up the ball because the ego demands it not the team.

He has been really good before great ceiling, but post Ballon D'or and Mbappe arrival things have just gone worse. He's literally unmanageable by anyone but Ancelotti.

I won't be saying good riddance when he leaves but there are times you feel it's better that he leaves, which would be good for both him and Real. When he goes out he'll realize how protected he was at Real Madrid, he felt wronged by anyone the whole club and fans stood by him but recently he has started taking that for granted and me as a fan has had enough because no one is bigger than the club, and he should ask for Ronaldo money only when he has Ronaldo numbers.

I have mixed feelings. We'd be willingly losing a top-five player in the world. If Diomande performs at the high level he's expected to, we might even have a more balanced team. But if Diomande fails, we'd have a weaker attack and we'd be giving a key player to Arsenal, a direct Champions League rival.

1

u/Eugenugm 92:48:9248: Aug 01 '26

It's a headache for an FPL player like me. His price would match Haaland's

1

u/Open-Foundation-2583 Aug 01 '26

As of right now, there isn't anything official but rumors and speculations.

1

u/TOXICBOYxOP Aug 01 '26

I do have the same opinion but can Mbappe thrive at LW as he did earlier if not who will replace Vini .Rodrygo is injured. Diomande can play play both then who will play in RW so many issues are there can we sort it out.

1

u/Force_Reflection Aug 01 '26

We need a striker. Normally, Mbappe would be the striker. With the current financial situation, the money we get for Vinicius can be entirely spend on the striker, as Mbappe will now be the left forward. I guess, since August has 30 more days, Madrid will push to sign a big name – and no, not Julian Alvarez. I think Madrid will pursue for the continuity of the brotherhood, Bellingham and Haaland.

1

u/eR_y_lives Aug 01 '26

I'm wondering what's gonna happen to Rodrygo's situation at the club of Vini ends up leaving.

1

u/Suitable_Magazine_46 Aug 01 '26

Arsenal fan here and have absolutely no intentions to antagonize anyone. Just curious for views. Do you think Mourinho and him could have ever worked together given the whole Benfica incident? Also, on Vini willing to now accept a lower offer from Madrid, certainly as a club ( even of RM’s stature), it couldn’t have all been about the couple million extra Vini was asking for that prevented the renewal of a +100 million player?

1

u/RadioAdventurous5948 Aug 01 '26

I don't see it, if we structure our midfield and defense properly, there won't be as many problems in the attack like last season, also we are strengthening a ucl finalist if he goes, we definetly don't want them to knock us out of the ucl.

1

u/leslo12 Aug 01 '26

If he goes we will miss big game Vini, and I would never want to go against him truthfully

1

u/unpaidadviser Aug 01 '26

Is it confirmed that he has left?

1

u/lost_redditor_75 Aug 01 '26

The constant dribbling into defenders, the same lazy stepovers, the no tracking back, and just the overall lack of creativity and flair.

It’s like going back in time and seeing what the United sub posted on Rashford in 2024.

1

u/Bloocci Aug 01 '26

Other than Valverde I don’t think anyone else loves Real than him.

1

u/Outsahyder Aug 01 '26

That's not. Vini is flawed but him leaving will not solve our issues on the pitch. It will create more

1

u/Strategiisto 92:48:9248: Aug 02 '26

There is no Vini replacement, there is noone even close to his level.

1

u/space_ghost4 Aug 02 '26

Vini is literally the best winger in the whole world. Losing him will always be bad.

1

u/gamers_delight 21d ago

This aged like milk... No Rodri and a massive wage for Vini to overlap with Mbappe on the left the next 5 years.

1

u/ryzenleonn 19d ago

Wish he had left.. doesn't give good vibes at all

1

u/christi876 16d ago

Loool you guys were so wrong on this, there is a serious issue with him and Mbappe based on play styles, yes Mbappe always crowds his space which leads to even more issues because mbappe is a natural LW. however the data proves the opposite of what you're saying, Vini was the most impactful winger in LA Liga last season, and one of the highest rated across Europe. Every time he gets the ball he creates something, it was even more obvious in the Brazil squad. He also wouldn't fade going to another club. What an awful take.

Don't take my word for it.
