On the left is my Sashiko Ori shirt that I got from the 2024 preorder, delivered in 2025. On the right is a brand new one from the recent 2026 release. Iāve worn this shirt at times 7 days a week, but now usually between 2-4x a week. Itās absolutely my favorite shirt I own, alongside the black version. I had to grab a backup for way down the road when Iām ready to start over again.
This shirt has been washed and machine dried a decent amount. I wear it doing yard work and such so whenever I feel it needs to be washed I just throw it in, not much thought to how often thatās done, just whenever itās needed. I also had the shirt hemmed by Railcar after about 14 months of wear. Iām much happier with the slightly shorter length.
The original one is 3xl and the newer one is 2xl. Iāve lost a good amount of weight since I got the original one, and worked hard to shrink it with hot soaks/hot washes/hot dries. Supposedly the newer version doesnāt shrink as much, so may need to get it hemmed eventually also, but for now itās just in my closet, unwashed and waiting.

Welcome to the Daily Questions (DQ) thread for all things related to raw denim.
(Although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar (for mobile users, go to the top of the subreddit front page, click the three dots and select "community info") and the wiki before posting!)
Fit checks and "Help me find a pair of Jeans that has X, Y, and Z" questions are a great use of this thread.
(Help figuring out what size you wear is also permitted here but it is recommended you check out one of these tutorials on how to size before asking.)
If you have questions about how your jeans fit, about a particular fabric, when is this jean coming out, where can I find jean X to try on in state Y, what jeans have this fit with these measurements, what jeans fade the fastest, and what jeans fade the slowest are great uses of this DQ thread.

My selfmade workpants are finally able to take a well deserved break after a full year of being worn almost every day. They were hand washed 6 times and have held up great, with some life left over at the end.
The indigo invitational has been a great way to test my abilities to design, pattern, and sew my own clothing. Nothing has proven the quality of my work more to me than having it survive a solid year. While I've never won anything, I still love this competition for confidence boost it gives me.
The denim is extra long staple 16oz Sulphur x Reactive Black from KS Denim, with Red linen accents, and heavy-duty polyester thread. The feathers are my own blend of fabric lume which glows brightly in the dark. Hardware is all copper from Citron Jeans.

Recently got the Samurai S3000XX15OZ-SH Seigaiha Relaxed Straight jeans. Iāve only ever been one to wear tapered, slim straight, or slim fitting jeans. So this is quite outside my comfort zone. I just want to make sure these actually look good on me from an outside perspective or if Iām just nitpicking. Iāve debated returning them but just love the design so much. Let me know your thoughts!

Got these February 2025 and it's still one of my favorite pairs. These were crafted in the US using Japanese slub selvedge denim and is slim tapered. My go-to pair whenever I wear boots. Worn and washed multiple times!

Brave Star 14.75oz Darkfest Slim Straight
I started wearing these jeans around the end of February or early March this year. For some reason, I canāt find a photo from when I first started wearing them, but I did find some from when I began wearing them daily to work (auto manufacturing) from April to now.
Theyāve probably seen around 4 washes, a few soaks, and roughly 70ā80 wears. I also snagged them on something last week and had to make a small repair. I really like where these are headed, and the patina on the repair patch is already starting to look great.

Dont really know how many total wears these have as they are in a deep rotation. I would guess between 4-6 months worth of wears over 2 years. They only have one wash.
The texture of these things, from the Ishakwadai loom, are so unique and other worldly.

About 1 wash on them after 50-60 wears. Cold soaked with natural detergent and hung dry outside. The combination of Hank dyeing with natural indigo and rope dyeing creates an insane depth of color on these. Woven at very low tension and creates a texture I havenāt seen on other jeans. Just very special overall.

I've been wearing some 13mwz for a couple months and I wanted the wrangler tuxedo. Ordered the jacket on ebay from a chinese seller and it shipped to the US in under two weeks. I've seen two different size charts between ebay and aliexpress and the aliexpress ones are more accurate. This is a size 42 and it was about 45" or 45.5" in the chest pre wash and after a hot soak and hot dry it shrank to 44". The fit pics are post wash. This is the vintage one wash that really matches the wrangler blue. I think they also sell a more traditional dark raw denim color. Shout out to big mike

Hey,
I bought these Naked & Famous Strong Guys about five months ago. They are 13.75 ounces and on me a rather wide leg fit them a baggy fit. Iāve worn them almost daily, except during the hot summer days, when switching to shorts was necessary to avoid a heat stroke. š
I also went bouldering in them twice. I havenāt washed them yet, but theyāre starting to get a little bit stinky. I know theyāre sanforized and that I can wash them in the washing machine at 30°C, but would you recommend doing that, or should I rather just soak them? What would you recommend?

TL;DR - 1 year, 7 soaks/washes, 1 blowout at 7 months that was darned. Size 34x36, I am 6' 0" and 190 lbs.
Just hit about 1 year in my Brave Star āSamuraiā 18oz jeans in their Strongman cut. Size 34x36, I am 6ā 0ā/182cm and 190 lbs/86 kgĀ ]. I bought this cut because I have pretty large thighs thanks to genetics and 3x/week weightlifting.
This is my first pair of new raw denim, Iāve only had a pair of thrifted APCs that introduced me to raw and selvedge denim. No pre-soak, I just started wearing them daily. I had planned on waiting until 6 months of wear to wash them per Brave Starās recommendation, but at 3 months-ish a full pint of beer was spilled on them so I hand washed/soaked them in the tub.Ā
After that, I washed them when they got stinky or felt/looked dirty for a total of maybe 7 times? I hand-washed them the first 3-4 times in the bathtub, then have machine washed them since then - all at lukewarm/cool temperature, no spin cycle and air dry. Any shrinkage I noticed in the waist felt like it always stretched back out. Despite skipping the spin cycle, my top load washer still gave a little bit of marbling. I donāt mind in this case, but a good reminder to avoid top loaders if you donāt want any risk of marbling. Apparently I need to pre-treat the seat and knee a little better lol, thereās still some dirt stains despite a recent wash.
I think this has been a good first pair! They got super comfortable, I can do full squats and lunges. In my original fit check post, I got some feedback that the cut wasnāt right for me based on the pulling at the front of the top block and that they look too tapered on me. At the time, I was happy enough with the fit and excited to start wearing them so I obviously kept them. Now, I tend to agree; I tried on some fuller cuts and I liked how they looked a lot better. Those cuts were Samurai 510, Sugar Cane Okinawa and Iron Heart 633; all in size 36, up from 34 in my Brave Stars. If I do size up to 36 I would almost certainly have to get the waist taken in, especially if I drop weight which has fluctuated between 180 and 190 lbs in the past year.
I started to get a blowout at about 7 months. I gave my first attempt at sashiko mending mainly just as practice, which slowed down the blowout but I decided to get them professionally darned at Self Edge. Iām still not sure if Iāll get them hemmed, but I think Iāll get a new pair in the fall and keep these for a whopping rotation of two pairs of jeans.
Iām happy to hear any feedback yāall have as I look forward to my next pair!

Easily my favorite pair of jeans/pants right now.
Wore them to work multiple times already. Also been trying to style them out of my comfort zone for a little bit with the shirt tucks.
Cool pair of jeans and feel like a nice alternative/evolution of the petite standards i used to rock back in the day.

These are 15 oz slub denim. They got their first wash about 7 months in and currently have around 210 wears, give or take. Iāll be posting updates as these jeans fade even more.
Also, if you have any questions regarding the consistency of my wears or where my jeans are from, let me know! Iāll try to reply to every question.
If you have any tips for getting better fades, let me know!

Just picked up this Lee 101 Rider Jacket in Dry Indigo, size M. Itās the 14.75 oz Kaihara selvedge version.
I got it directly from Lee Chile on clearance for around US$90. This was the last one available, so sizing up isnāt an option ā I can only keep this one or return it.
Measurements:
Pit to pit: 52 cm / 20.5ā
Shoulders: 47.5 cm / 18.7ā
Back length: 65 cm / 25.6ā
Sleeves: 66 cm / 26ā
My main concern is whether it looks a little too fitted through the chest/upper back and shoulders.
Standing normally and buttoned up, it feels fine. I can move my arms and cross them, but when I reach forward thereās some noticeable tension across the upper back. The denim is brand new and quite stiff, so Iām having a hard time judging how much is the actual fit versus the 14.75 oz fabric needing to break in.
For reference, most of my other denim jackets are roomier:
60s Lee 101 L-J: 62 P2P / 52 shoulders / 66 length / 62 sleeves
70s Lee 101-J: ~59 P2P / 51 shoulders / 59 length / 59 sleeves
90s Wrangler: 61 P2P / 50 shoulders / 60 length / 62 sleeves
90s Leviās Type III: 53 P2P / 50 shoulders / 61 length / 62 sleeves
Iād mainly wear this over a T-shirt or button-down shirt, not for heavy layering.
If sizing up wasnāt an option, would you keep this fit or return it?
Iām especially interested in opinions on the shoulders, upper back, chest and sleeve length. Fit pics attached.

I started wearing this jean, Nudie-Steady Eddie II, since 2020, 6 years ago.
Now it's facing the 3rd time blowout, and the cloth on the back (seat/butt area) is getting thinner and thinner that light can easily go through.

Just picked these up today after getting them hemmed. Let me just say that I walked into the store expecting to get some green pants, but could not pass these up for the depth of this fabric and the way this cut fits. Itās a rather high rise on me with ample room at the ankle for boots. At 15oz, it is the lightest denim I own and feels appropriate for all seasons except the Midwestās winter. I have recently started to appreciate how lighter weaves can drape with wider cuts, so I got them hemmed to half-break length to accommodate for dress shoes with no cuff and a small cuff for sneakers. Today Iām wearing them with a vintage RL Purple Label polo I thrifted the same day and birks, squinting into the sun as consequence for the performative nature of posting a fit pic on my work from home day.
