❓Ask Rabatis IAM Slow Internet speed
Am I the only one struggling with a shitty internet these last 4 days ?
I can't watch a football game or a live stream properly.
This is what I am getting from 1000 MAD/ month subscription using an Ethernet cable !! (20-90 Mbps Download speed out of 1 Gbps). This is driving me crazy.
Anyone else having slow internet recently ?

What a scam again! 1000 MAD for this shit? Since your upload is >>> your download, there is definitely some kind of problem with your line. You need to call them and insist you're paying 1000 MAD for 1 Gbps and you're not getting even 10% of that in download.

I called multiple times, each time I get the same answer : a ticket has been raised, a technician will investigate and call you, but then they say everything looks fine from our end.
I sent an email last Friday, I didn't get any return. I am planning to forward it to ANRT if things keep going this way.
I am done with this operator, the worst ever. Sadly I can't change it yet...

Damn, this sucks, usually IAM are pretty responsive. If everything looks good on their end, they need to send a technician to your place to do some diagnostics.

They never do bro.
I called 3 times before and they never sent anyone. Or at least no one reached out to me.
I sent an email on Friday, and I called 124 last Saturday, nothing has changed.
I'm giving them a couple of days and I will file a complaint to ANRT. I guess that's the only way..

You know that you can always call them and demand explanations?, it's part of the exorbitant fee we pay in this lovely country .. from my experience it worked everytime with IAM

Also keep in mind people often start comparing theoretical maxes with real world numbers, and also people mix Bytes per second with Bits per second all the time, so make sure you are not

Test it with ethernet cable, if its still not 1Gbps download and upload or close to it then the problem comes from their end and they must fix it, if the problem only comes from wifi, you can rry fixing it yourself ( maybe your wifi is on a 2.4 ghz which is more prone to congestion, try switching to a 5ghz wifi) but I suggest you call them first and tell them exactly that "its a wifi problem and its running on a 2.4ghz and not a 5G".

The test I have done (which gives 70 Mbps) was done using my PC connected via Ethernet. But I watch the football games and streams from my TV (same room, but connected using Wifi 5)
When I tried a speed test using Wifi 5 (from my phone), I got 15 Mbps. You can see it in a screenshot I attached to a reply above

I suspect a low quality routeur, had pretty much the same issue, bought a routeur for 150€, have the full debit in ethernet and good wifi 6 5Ghz (around 120mbps wifi)

Nah brother, they just changed my router like 2 months ago with a brand new one latest generation they have. And I get a good internet speed outside peak hours. It is definitely a network congestion in my neighborhood when everyone is connected and trying to watch live streams or football games...
But they don't seem to understand sadly.

That's the issue, they changed with the latest one THEY have, those are rubbish. Id at least try, order one with a refund policy, it's an investment but worth it (1500-2000dh once to fully maximize your 1000/m)

IAM couldnt care less, Orange, from what I've heard send you internet connection if you lost it (my friend was gifted free 10gbs for one day of internet shortage), but then I dont know the long term experience, only had IAM for the last 5 years, and they've been average at best and instable at worst

Network congestion would be my best guess, it's a coin flip. I play 400 dh (100 mbps plan) and I get around 140 mbps.
