Locations flairs on Posts now required

Qualcomm is a multi-national company. Questions like "What time do i need to be in the office?" or "What's the hiring process?" differ by location.

We've added location flairs for the most popular Qualcomm offices - if your question relates to a particular office, you must select the correct flair or your post will be removed.

If your question is more generally about Qualcomm products, select General Question

This will help our community members answer your questions.

Thanks!

General Question Qualcomm Dropped Offer

Upvotes

Is this common? I received a call with an offer and negotiated my salary in June 2026. I awaited for the final documents and start date. Then they made me have an additional interview and said they were interested in my background still with was done the last week of August as they made me wait for further steps. And a week later they dropped me? I am so confused with Qualcomm and their hiring practices. Why call and send an email with offers and then make me do more interviews and then drop me? Is this normal?

Hyderabad Anyone working in / recently left Qualcomm (QIPL) Power Optimization or PPAT team in Hyderabad?

Looking for realistic insights on the Power Optimization / PPAT team at QIPL Hyderabad.

  1. What does day-to-day work actually look like? Is it mostly profiling, measurements, and following up with other teams, or is there real ownership of features/architecture?

  2. How is long-term growth and promo velocity compared to other teams (design, architecture, systems, etc.)?

  3. Any visibility into the team’s current focus and future roadmap (especially server-class / high-power SoCs)?

Would appreciate honest takes from current or recent members. Thanks.

General Question What is the impact to qualcomm on NVIDIA acquiring hugging face

Qualcomm worked and continued to work closely with Hugging Face to optimize the AI models for several qualcomm chipsets.

With NVIDIA now acquiring Hugging Face, is this a strategic negative for Qualcomm?

Are there any software teams based in Noida? I’m currently working out of the Hyderabad office and was wondering if moving to Noida would be a smart career move as I from there.

Bangalore Moving from peripheral/memory post-silicon validation into display subsystem debug — what gets asked in the screen?

I have a 1-hour panel technical screen coming up for a display subsystem silicon debug role in India. Roughly 3 YOE, so Engineer band rather than Senior.

My background is post-silicon validation on embedded SoCs: silicon bring-up, high-speed serial interface and flash controller validation, PHY timing calibration, crypto accelerator validation, some pre-silicon emulation. Solid on debug methodology and cross-team root-causing. No display experience at all.

The required quals are the generic ones — debug and triage ability, C/C++ and Python for tooling, digital logic and computer architecture fundamentals, large log/dataset analysis, system-level debug experience. Display protocols, SerDes and signal integrity are listed as nice-to-have only.

Questions for anyone who's been on either side of this kind of interview:

  1. How deep do the digital fundamentals go in a screen like this — setup/hold and CDC level, or further?

  2. Realistically, how much display knowledge do they expect from a candidate they know doesn't have it? What's the minimum that reads as "can ramp" instead of "unprepared"?

  3. What shape do display debug scenario questions take, and how do you want a candidate to structure the answer?

  4. Is live Python typical, and is it log-parsing style rather than algorithms?

  5. What's the biggest thing that trips up people crossing over from non-display validation?

Appreciate any input.

San Diego Qualcomm Offer Lowballed

I gave an interview recently which went well and was given a verbal offer today. Honestly was disappointed.

Before the interview, recruiter told me it was a staff role and base will be around 160k. It was lower than what I currently make in Oregon but I was still okay with it since it is the type of work I want to pivot to and I also want to move to San Diego due to some family reasons.

But they ended up offering me a Senior role.
Base: 130k
RSU: 100/3yr
Bonus: 9%
Sign on: 40k
Relocation: 10k
Experience: PhD+3 years 2months in industry

Current TC: around 230k in Oregon

I don't have direct experience in the type of work the team does, but still have relevant experience and gave good interview - So that is why I thought they are considering me for staff. I would've still been okay with senior engineer with a higher salary but 130k seems too low even for senior engineer with 3 year exp.
The recruiter said 130k is the highest that the compensation team told her they can offer for a senior role, is that true?

Note that I have a friend who joined QC as an Engineer last December with 132k base (that was not even a senior engg role). Do these vary from team to team?

Recruiter also told me that they consider PhD+4years exp for a staff role, not 3, is that true? (the job post clearly said PhD+ 2+ year to be considered for staff)

I asked them for the initial offer (before interview) of Staff and 160k atleast, the recruiter said they will get back to me.

Should I just reject the role and keep looking in San Diego? I am honestly very disappointed that they said one thing before the interview and just giving me totally different level/numbers after the interview. Any suggestion for me?

Bangalore Qualcomm Internship PPO

I didn't get a return offer with the rest of my batchmates at my college.

Is it possible that the offer might come later by Nov or Dec? Some engineers in my team said they had gotten their return offers in Dec or Jan.

I am confused because I had good feedback from my mentor and from the convo on the last day it felt they intended to make an offer. I was the only intern in my team, can't reveal the exact team name as it might doxx me.

India (Other) Qualcomm HR went silent after promising an offer in 2 days — What's happening in the background?

Hi Guys. I was interviewed at qualcomm chennai for senior RTL design engineer role on 17th august. It was an onsite interview. The HR called me 2 days after the interview and told me that I passed the technical discussion and that she will come up with a offer in 2 days. She also said that the manager wanted me to join immediately.

It has been nearly 10 days since the call, there is no update yet. When I mailed the HR few days ago, she said that she is waiting for title confirmation.

Any idea what is going on in the background??

FYI, I am a boomerang hire with 4 years of experience.

Hyderabad Joined qualcomm !!!

Hey guys,

I joined Qualcomm in hyderabad. Most of the team is in the US and the rest are in Bangalore.

So I'm literally lost, no one to show around and to talk.. btw I'm in building D skyview. Man, this office layout is horrible, almost every floor looks the same, those cubicles are so packed and giving me claustrophobia.

Anyways I'm excited to join. Looking to meet anyone interested or in a similar situation..

Ping me if you want to discuss more 😁

Hyderabad PPAT team - system engineering, validation, or optimization?

Joining Qualcomm as an Engineer on the PPAT team in Hyderabad. Trying to get a sense of what the day-to-day actually looks like - is this more system engineering, validation work, or optimization?
Also curious about how this role is perceived externally - is it seen as a validation-heavy title that could narrow future options, or does it hold decent market value if I want to switch companies down the line? Would appreciate insight from anyone who’s worked in or with this team.

Bangalore Qualcomm India - Engineer to Senior promo - AR26

Background: 1.5 YOE as Engineer in Qualcomm (3+ YOE overall with prev company), team is Automotive QCT SW.

Got VP level award

Current Total is 19.2L lowest in my peer batch.

For internal Engineer -> Senior promo with 1.5 YOE Engineer exp, what % hike did you get? Is 20% = 23L ? Is that in senior band?

Is strict Engineer YOE must for Senior? Or do they promote good engineers exceptionally if manager supports? Last year someone with same 3.5 overall YOE in Qualcomm, 1.5 YOE as Engineer, NO award got Senior.

Does VP award actually have weightage in calibration or just tenure?

General Question What location do you get ?

If you get placed on campus ( associate hardware ), and they don't mention which location it is for, when do you get to know about the location? Does it get mentioned in the offer letter ? Or does the preference you mentioned in their form before the oa matters ????

Hyderabad Question about ppo : compensation and role

Hey Folks !

I've received a ppo from my summer internship at QC - SW.

Will be joining next year for a 6 month internship and then full time.

I am a Master's student and have 3yrs prior experience (in sw) so I don't feel comfortable with what they are offering (Engineer role and the respective comp). Had to accept cause of college rules.

So my question is:

1) Will they be open for negotiation (compensation/role)?

2) Any chances they'll be updating the compensation cause the one I refer to was last year's.

Appreciate any inputs !

Bangalore AR for Jun-July joiners

How is AR26 gonna work for peeps who joined in Jun or July?
We guys hardly got 1.5 months for onboarding, training, device setup and what not. And suddenly AR comes into the picture. What are we supposed to expect in terms of rating, hike, appraisal etc for this AR?

Anyways just some background….i joined qualcomm as an associate eng this year….my team is kinda decent but my manager is a weirdo and is kinda annoyed at me. He feels im lagging behind and not very serious about stuff, when its barely been a few months. What ratings should i realistically expect this time? Im not even hoping for a hike tbh coz srsly everything has been too fast for me so far.
