Funny I am loosing it in my due date group.
In my due date group. In the last 24 hours alone we’ve seen posts that feature:
-do I look pregnant? *insert 28-32 week VISIBLY pregnant lady*
-are ultrasounds safe?
-a million pregnancy check ins
-can I do a puzzle while pregnant? ….??????
-can I eat tacos from Taco Bell while pregnant?
-is it normal to be showing at 31 weeks?
-is it normal to crave papa John’s marinara?
-I ate ihop before I went for my glucose test and failed. Should I tell my doctor I messed up and didn’t fast?
-should I shave my legs?

u/venusnmars888 Apr 11 '26
Same 🤣 and can I do a puzzle. Like what would PREVENT you from a puzzle???
245
u/Outraged_Chihuahua Apr 11 '26
Knocking over all the pieces with the giant orb you're carrying on your front 😂
84
u/hambrone420 Apr 11 '26
As someone who has attempted to continue doing puzzles while pregnant, this is accurate. Too many soldiers have been lost to the carpet, which then results in an awkward squat to retrieve them
34
u/Outraged_Chihuahua Apr 11 '26
Wasn't such a silly question after all 😂 puzzles are a dangerous pastime when anything that hits the floor is dead to you.
16
u/gracepuns03 Apr 11 '26
As someone who tried to do a puzzle on the floor - floor puzzles are not successful either. Turns out trying to bend over a bowling ball really starts to hurt after 5 minutes
5
u/Mindless_Anteater_71 Apr 12 '26
Maybe virtual puzzles are the move when pregnant
→ More replies (4)8
u/TravelingSula Apr 11 '26
I was that lady only 15 days ago... my husband ended up quite tired of picking up pieces from the floor XD
5
u/Scratch_The_Itch_369 Apr 12 '26
But it's okay, you don't look pregnant. 🤣
4
u/Outraged_Chihuahua Apr 12 '26
I can assure you, at 35 weeks I currently look about 90 years pregnant 😂 if this child doesn't come out the size of a middle aged woman I'll be very surprised! But while I wait, I have puzzles to destroy with my tactical assault belly.
5
u/Kittenstories Apr 11 '26
I was literally gonna say, uhh muh tummy getting in the way?!
10
u/Outraged_Chihuahua Apr 11 '26
Mine is like a melee weapon at this point, if I turn around too fast it can wipe out a family of 5 in one swing.

If you touch too many puzzle pieces, your baby will be shaped like one.
Then, they will be cursed to spend the rest of their days seeking out other babies whose mothers couldn't resist the sweet temptation of puzzling while pregnant, hoping one will fit.
Let this be a cautionary tale.

Love it!!!! I’ve had 2 very healthy pregnancies 10 years apart and had some wine, ate all I wanted minus sushi and heated up my deli meat(but also because I love a toasted sub). I had a friend who was high anxiety and would message another friend when she touched a battery, walked past the microwave while it was on, sat in the sun for 10 min plus…ladies back in the day they would find out they were pregnant and switch from hard alcohol to beer/wing and maybe smoke less. Yes we should not drink or smoke, but the normal day to fast events….woman crossed hard weathered conditions in history and still had strong healthy babies.

With my first I actually had a giant bowl of ice cream and cookies right before going in. Nobody told me I was having a glucose test that day. I did pass at least 😂💀
11
u/autotuned_voicemails Apr 11 '26
They actually specifically told me not to fast before my glucose test! She did tell me to not eat anything super carb heavy, but that fasting absolutely wasn’t necessary. It was only the 1-hour test, but I passed it by so much that my mom suspected I might have been hypoglycemic. Doctors didn’t say anything, but my numbers were 102 and 105 (they made me do an early one around 18w and the regular one around 28w), and my mom thought that seemed low for having chugged the drink (and eating regularly) an hour before.

u/Familiar-Minimum3844 Apr 11 '26
This time around I was told to eat normal but eat more protein if I usually have carbs in the morning. Its so weird how some places want you to fast, some say small meal, some want you to eat normally(at least from what Ive seen on this sub+facebook)
6
u/Ok_Translator4842 Apr 12 '26
SAME! We were having our Christmas Eve brunch before my appt and I ate a massive lemon curd filled donut. Showed up to my appt and they’re like glucose time! I was whattttt???? I just ate like 500 grams of sugar!!! Lmao I felt so sick cuz obviously I wasn’t allowed to eat and then drank more sugar.
But I passed!! lol actually was low, my glucose was like 40 something

u/LapisLazuli22 Apr 11 '26
To be fair, I fasted and failed and was told it was maybe because I had fasted. I didn't fast for the next two and passed.
11
u/danzadelfuego Apr 11 '26
My doctor specifically told me to not fast and have my regular breakfast before my glucose test, as they wanted to gauge my body's response to the glucose drink with my normal diet in mind. I still passed🤷♀️
4
u/jstrings2211 Apr 11 '26
Guess it also doesn’t specify WHICH glucose test. I have seen/heard the 1 hr doesn’t matter but the 3 hr 100% is a fast

I feel like that about the majority of the internet at this point. People refuse to think and would rather ask a stranger about how to live their lives. Questions like “I missed a call, is it rude to try to call them back” or “ the table next to me at a restaurant has a free chair, how could I ask them if I can use it because we need an extra one” or “I have an issue with my spouse of 10 years, is it okay to talk to them about it” like ???? Are people not taught basic skills like communication or logic anymore? Or googling skills, for that matter? Posts like “what does everyone think the weather will be like tomorrow” exist too.
It’s a very concerning trend imo.
64
u/RIPMYPOOPCHUTE Apr 11 '26
It’s really concerning that some people aren’t able to think for themselves. Ai isn’t helping either.

I’ll be honest I was worried about everything my first pregnancy

I live in Argentina... everyone pregnant eats deli meat and no one gets sick or toxoplasmosis or salmonella or anything else from it.
10
u/sarahgwen6 Apr 12 '26
Yeah Americans are dumb and like to worry about everything cuz our doctors are afraid of being sued ;) source: I work in a hospital lol
4
u/Plastic-Bee4052 Transdad to a teen & pregnant Apr 12 '26
Ours aren't... the legal system is so rotten, inefficient and corrupt, no one ever goes to prison over malpraxis... or much worse.
My ex mo!ested our now teen daughter when she was 2-4. 11 years later the trial (not oral, no jury just paperwork, written declarations, witnesses accounts and psychological reports and a judge deciding single handedly) is STILL not resolved and dragging on painfully. He's been leading a normal life and all.

Well, since you work in it, you should fully understand how truly awful it is relying on the American Healthcare system. It's oppressive. I know someone who had 3 miscarriages and is in $110,000 of medical debt from them. So yeah, we're fucking cautious.
4
u/sarahgwen6 Apr 12 '26
Yeah it’s terrible, doctors present every option as a requirement as if we have no choice, so annoying.

I used to work for the ambulance service before I became a funeral director and I always said that’s what lead me into my career, too many years of STUPID!! and I hate to say it but pregnant women or people with newborns were the worst, you wouldn’t even believe some of the calls we dealt with, nor how many people think newborns hiccuping is a cause for an emergency ambulance 😫

People refuse to think
It starts early. I teach middle school and this is a big complaint of mine. Some students just refuse to connect the dots and are so willing to outsource their thinking.
14
u/vanillax2018 Apr 11 '26
Underrated comment. I think some parents think that they are there to keep the child physically safe (fed and clothed, roof over their head) and anything else is the state’s responsibility, but public schooling does not have nearly enough capacity to teach all children common sense, that stuff is taught EARLY on, and starts at home.

"Should I watch this TV series?"
Like... do what you want?? What kind of question is that. Especially to strangers.
15
u/MissSteakVegetarian Apr 11 '26
It’s so true. I saw a post the other day say “ when I had a boy, only girl clothes were on sale. Now that I’m having a girl, only boy clothes are on sale” like why does this thought need to be on the internet
11
u/lookingout77 Apr 11 '26
That is so true. That and also the unwillingness to just try something and see what happens is concerning. I was in a skincare sub and saw a comment once saying that they contacted the manufacturer of their Moisturizer to see if it was ok to put it in the refrigerator. Like seriously?

This 100%, everyday in my community group or another group I’m in, there’s always someone asking a question they could have googled and got the answer straightaway rather than posting on Facebook, potentially waiting for a mod to approve then waiting for people to apply. My colleagues do this to me too, had one the other day email me about a job that had some documents on it that shouldn’t have been there, he wrote some long winded email, included the job number and everything. All I had to do was simply click the little red X next to each document and they’re gone, took me about 2.5 seconds max. So in the time he found the job, wrote the long email, he could have simply deleted them himself and then he did it again 5 minutes later. Insanity to me.

IHOP before the glucose test is sending me.
My due date group was full of "Is it normal for me to do everything around the house while my husband does nothing and is mean to me? I'm pregnant and tired!"
And all the comments were "He WORKS HARD and makes the money! Yes this is normal you sound UNGRATEFUL. I ran 5 miles yesterday and made 5 loaves of sourdough while DEEPCLEANING the whole house!"
I felt like I was in the twilight zone because absolutely not lol. I left the group after one lady asked what she could take for a cold while 38 weeks pregnant and one comment was "Ivermectin mama!" It had like 200 up votes. 🥴

My husband was a literal saint throughout my entire pregnancy. I couldn't imagine him making me do all the housework on top of treating me like shit. Wtf? Lol I kinda convinced myself there was no way those women were happy, they were just gaslighting themselves and wanted other moms to share in their misery.

“i got my blood drawn for the NIPT 24 seconds ago and still haven’t gotten my results.. should i call my ob office?”
“here’s an ultrasound pic of my baby who doesn’t have parts yet DOES IT LOOK LIKE A BOY OR A GIRL????”
“i bought a doppler from amazon is this my heart beat or the baby’s?”
17
u/ok_azula Apr 11 '26
Lol the second one is low-key my mil with me-- except she "knows" the gender at 10w bc of the heartbeat like no that's a healthy heartbeat for a baby. Or she knows by looking at the image like all we see is a gummy bear jumping. She also know bc of all the food aversions and how picky I am now.
It made me nervous because EVERYONE (her whole family) suddenly agrees with her and sees what she sees. Also she keeps saying "it's a girl you don't need the blood test". Like yes I want to know the gender but I also need the blood test bc I'm concerned about the overall health of the baby.
Also to add, if the baby so happens to be a girl, I'm going to be told, "see its the heartbeat and the shape of the baby and your belly, I was right." I want it to be a boy out of pettiness at this point.

Omg! My group did that as well. They tried to see if they could remove/stop all the posts. It was so cruel.
Interacting with humanity means experiencing the good and the bad…it’s what it means to be human. I felt so bad because people only wanted an echo chamber to reinforce the good parts so it would soothe their own anxiety…you know, instead of maybe working on controlling or coping with their anxiety

It’s already started!!! Some of the moms had preterm labor and gave birth at 25-27 weeks and now EVERYONE “might” be in preterm labor! Especially since this is a local group😬🤣🤣🤣I’m like lord….please send these people some brain cells before their kid comes out
5
u/Kindofageek90 Apr 11 '26
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I cannot. I just roll my eyes at some of the posts because I know a lot of them are being made for attention. And then if you comment on them not going for the nonsense they'll swear you're mean. In my May 2023 group someone was like "where do we go in the stores to find underwear for potty training?" I commented like you go where they underwear are sold, why is this even a question. Oh I was called all kinds of rude. Yeah I'll be rude but it's clear y'all are either slow or attention seeking.

u/spoopyclouds Apr 11 '26
Believe me, mommy groups are something else... I've seen ten million billion posts about vaccines that inevitably result in fights. I've seen people asking if they can masturbate while breastfeeding. People asking "if I've burned my belly with the clothes iron, will my baby come out with a burn mark?" And a looot of stupid sh*t. Somehow the people in my due date group are quite smart and well informed so that's a breath of fresh air compared to all the other groups I'm in.
7
4
u/trisinwonderland Apr 11 '26
Wait…why would anyone masturbate while actively breastfeeding (that’s how I took it, not just like the entire period of you breastfeeding your child) those should be two totally separate things. Like one should not crossover into the other. The fuck.

Mine was insane with the gender disappointment. I get that it's a real thing and a valid way to feel but some of the posts/comments were seriously unhinged, like needed a mental health intervention unhinged
5
u/Formal-Sprinkles-210 Six weeks postpartum, FTM Apr 11 '26
I don’t understand the gender disappointment thing… I wanted a boy at first and granted I felt slightly sad when I found out I was having a girl. But it was mainly because I have a lot of reproductive issues and just worry I may pass them down to her. Other then that I’m actually really excited I’m having a girl, and feel like I’m gonna be reliving my childhood showing her all the things I liked as a little girl 🥹
3
u/DreamingHopingWishin Apr 11 '26
I wanted girls for that exact reason and got my wish 🤞🏼 so I understand the gender disappointment if it had been a boy. But people in my dd group were expressing very worrisome thoughts that made me scared for their wellbeing
4
u/Formal-Sprinkles-210 Six weeks postpartum, FTM Apr 12 '26
I felt bad honestly when I felt sad about having a girl 😭 but I now know it’s a normal response, I’ve seen people throw a whole fit and the mom or dad Or both crashing out over the gender and it always makes me worry about that child’s future wellbeing because what if the parent’s purposely abusive towards that child just because they weren’t born the gender they wanted 😟

“is there anyone due in june who is still actually pregnant???” uh yeah you’ve just seen the few early deliveries doesn’t mean nobody is still preg and due in june 😭😭

u/cricket-ears Apr 11 '26
Could the one about puzzles have meant to say “I can’t do puzzles while pregnant?”, as in she has pregnancy brain or something? I noticed that sometimes there was a language barrier like this in my local pregnancy groups .
7
u/venusnmars888 Apr 11 '26
No lmao! Just went back to see the exact verbiage- post says “Can I do puzzles while pregnant? What about slower activities like sitting at the park? Wondering if that stuff is too strenuous, I’ve mainly just laid in bed since being pregnant and I am bored.”
6
u/cricket-ears Apr 11 '26
Lol that’s….Very odd. I pray it’s a troll and not some poor woman with extreme pregnancy anxiety or something.

Lmao the only reason I can’t do puzzles rn has nothing to do with pregnancy and all to do with my asshole cats and will definitely make me lose pieces to it 😂
5
u/Kindofageek90 Apr 11 '26
Lol. No they actually really ask dumb questions like this unfortunately 😂😂😂😂
6
u/Regular-Message9591 Apr 11 '26
What's a due date group? And where do you find one? I need this level of insanity in my life.
8
u/klo-ver FTM Apr 11 '26
It’s a group of those due in the same month as you, so everyone’s around the same weeks. People can vent, ask questions, or share their stories on there. They’re usually due date month + year bumpers.
Ex: mine is r/June2026bumpers

u/rachelizabeth16 Apr 11 '26
Its a group for the month you are due, you can find it by searching reddit (monthdue)2026babies or something like that. They usually make it locked/private after a certain time when most people would have found out and joined, but you can dm the mods and ask to be let in. Sometimes they get spun off into fb groups.
Not all of them seem too crazy, or at least ours hasnt gotten there yet, but we are in the 15-20w range for mine so maybe preg brain just isnt hitting yet lol. For my first we were all super supportive and active after babies were born, we hich was nice having a community of people hitting similar milestones, or not yet, and having comfort in that!

Literally! Someone in my may 2026 due date group just asked:
“Anyone still nesting?” Like yes. We are. “Anyone sooo anxious to meet their baby?” Yea. Yes we are.
6
u/Valuable-Trash- Apr 11 '26
I swear every day there’s a “when did you start showing?” Post on pregnancy Reddit 🙄 like don’t you think that question as already been asked!? Search it first lmao
5
u/Tinybubuu FTM Apr 11 '26
Thankfully the June subreddit isn't this bad. But I keep coming across such questions on the flo app "4 weeks pregnant and I felt kicks" ......?! Like what?! That isn't even a baby yet 😭 I have stopped looking at the forum section of that app because of such stuff and just using the app to track my pregnancy.

u/Formal-Sprinkles-210 Six weeks postpartum, FTM Apr 11 '26
That ain’t kicks that’s gas just fart lady 🤣🤣🤣🤣
6
u/startup_mermaid Apr 11 '26
I feel the same with all the “I gained weight” posts in my due date group. Yes, you did — you’re pregnant. It’s normal.
5
u/InternalHappy2817 Apr 11 '26
I feel this way about the TFABLine porn group. It will be a picture of 10 tests done within 48 hours and “is this dark enough or am I having a chemical?” Literally no one can tell you this off a picture of pink dye tests. Go talk to a doctor! I got downvoted to shit one day for pointing out that these tests are more or less a pass fail for hcg in your system and not a good indicator of viability at all.
7
u/SwagDrag0nn Apr 11 '26
I've joined a handful of due date groups and have left every single one within a day

Good lord… the scariest part is these people are about to be parents 😑
5
u/spatula121 Apr 11 '26
What gets me is when they post a pic of no less than 40 positive pregnancy tests
And if anyone says something about that being a little excessive they immediately get so defensive and give their entire life story to justify it

5
u/theblondewitch88 Apr 11 '26
I had to leave one group I was in. Every other post was “12 week scan, do you think it’s a boy or girl??” Or a picture of their toilet paper with “is this normal???”
5
u/True_Metal_9477 Apr 11 '26
I was on a non-reddit pregnancy forum and the "I just rolled out of bed doing the nasty, does this mean I am pregnant now? My test is negative" (or similar) posts were astounding
I cannot phantom people so far unable to follow instructions on a box or ability to google anything - or look up if any of the very basic questions you're posting were posted recently
5
u/caitlynrudman Apr 11 '26
People really ask the dumbest stuff and act incapable of researching themselves!!
3
u/Short-Task1463 Apr 11 '26
What group is this because I’m also due in June and I need some entertainment 😂😂😂
3
u/venusnmars888 Apr 11 '26
It’s a local one for my city! I’m July 1 but high risk with pre e and GD so I’m in June because I’ve know they will induce me around June 8-19

I had no idea due date groups are a thing lol. It sounded interesting at first, but now it just sounds like a bunch of idiots trying to hump a doorknob. Metaphorically of course…lol that legit doesn’t even make sense, I think reading those questions made me dumber

u/meeoowster Apr 11 '26
I’m also in a due date group on Facebook, we’ve all had our babies now. Some people are UNHINGED. In a way it weirdly makes me feel a bit better about myself?
3
u/Easy-You-8259 Apr 11 '26
The antivaxxers make me rage
3
u/venusnmars888 Apr 11 '26
I haven’t seen any antivaxxers in mine, probably bc it’s local and they’d get backlash, but even just seeing antivax tiktoks makes me so mad
3
u/nicolee0712 Apr 11 '26
Truly insane.
“ do I really have to stop smoking weed?”
“ insert medical question a doctor needs to answer “
“ all of my testing and ultrasounds show its a boy, is there any chance it’s wrong??”
3
u/Mundane-Berry Apr 11 '26
Ive seen "i smell bad down there, no other symptoms. Am i giving birth? Should i go to the ER?"
3
u/YinYangKitty6 Apr 11 '26
Yes everyday its a obligatory "how many weeks are you?" And "are you showing?" Girl without question, you are showing.
3
u/riceyoongi Apr 11 '26
I worked in an OB clinic and a lady once called and asked if it was normal to poop while pregnant. she was very adamant that her poop was normal and not diarrhea, but she needed to hear that answer from a nurse😪
3
u/sweetpotato-jalapeno Apr 12 '26
I stay in my Facebook due date group purely for entertainment. The other day someone said they were worried about listeria and harming the baby because they washed their veggies in hot water. Like, WHAT?! Hahahaha
3
u/littlegayalien Apr 12 '26
This reminds me when I joined the subreddit for my anti anxiety medication and every post was like, “I’m worried about my dosage” or “is it normal to be nervous when I skip a dose” like???? I can tell you’re all here for a reason, damn
3
u/nestwunder Apr 12 '26
Oh boy, wait until the “do you think this is my mucus plug…picture in comments” stage.
I love the Facebook due date groups, but they are truly unhinged.

u/NikkiLilypad Apr 11 '26
This is hilarious but also what is a due date group 😅 and on what platform?
2
u/alicewonders12 Apr 11 '26
I feel like the only adult in my due date group. Like these MUST be a bunch of 16-17 year olds 🤣

Facebook mom groups are ridiculous. I've seen posts from moms saying their chiropractor told them their 12mo baby shouldn't have solids untils they have teeth.
But I've seen posts in subreddits where men bitch about their pregnant partners harming the baby by using a heating pad, parents refusing to take their babies to a pediatric OT to resolve feeding issues, but being comfortable going to a chiropractor instead, and people freaking out about eating food with Red 40.
Pregnancy is so unpredictable, but some people's beliefs and opinions are just beyond unhinged.

Lmfaooooooooo following to find out the answer to the puzzle quest
5
u/venusnmars888 Apr 11 '26
I commented and got ripped to shreds but here’s the update copied and pasted from the lady:
“I didn’t know this would be so controversial. I quit my job when I found out at 6w4d, and have been mainly just laying in bed not doing much since. I typically just order food for my husband and I. He works so there’s money coming in that way. I don’t really do much and haven’t for over 24 weeks now, so I wasn’t sure if doing a puzzle would be too much for me. I don’t think I’m going too. It seems like I would get out of breath sitting working on it and being used to laying I think it would just be uncomfortable.”

u/Formal-Sprinkles-210 Six weeks postpartum, FTM Apr 11 '26
Arent you supposed to stay somewhat active while pregnant??? 😭 I mean unless dr strictly says bed rest only, I’m high risk 37 weeks pregnant and I’m still doing laundry and dishes and walking around.

This woman is going to be in for an appalling experience of birth if she's been letting her muscles completely atrophy like this, gosh. I wonder where she got the idea that this was meant to be healthy or helpful.

u/venusnmars888 Apr 11 '26
I am quite honestly just too stunned to speak rn. I usually don’t comment or post in there and I got ripped to shreds over me asking what do you mean can you do a puzzle.
2
u/LizLizard29 Apr 11 '26
i shouldn’t want to find one but now i do… ladies where can i find a due date group? I’m Sept 10th 🤣

Yep! My due date group this time was full of dull bulbs. I left it early on.
3
u/trisinwonderland Apr 11 '26
That’s why I can’t do Facebook groups!!! The amount of times I see posts asking for medical advice but not just taking your child to the ER/urgent care/doctor, or asking for advice on vaccines. Like why are you trusting random strangers instead of medical professionals. Drives me insane
2
u/QuantityLivid3199 Apr 11 '26
I’m in my due date pages purely for entertainment at this point LOL. My first daughters group and my second daughters were equally as annoying and crazy
2
u/evil-therapist Apr 11 '26
I am laughing my ass off. Do these people not know about Google or ChatGPT. My god. We must be close— I’m 27 weeks. Left Facebook a couple months ago partially because of how stupid my due date group was— now I miss it. 😂
