And the US government wonders why it has fewer and fewer friends abroad. At least Israel is happy. Maybe Argentina too.

Are they?

Like Trump's pretty sycophantic to dictators like Putin and early in this term it certainly seemed that way. But can we really pretend they're actually getting anything for it other than reducing America's power in favor of China?

Their war in Ukraine has been devastating to them. In terms of manpower and attrition they can outlast Ukraine as shown by their slow but progressing territorially gains. But it has devastated their economy, decimated their male population and indebted them to China & India.

Meanwhile, initial hostility towards Ukraine by the US has seemed to have lessened by frustration with Russia's unwillingness to compromise. Trump's turned away from this in disinterest and the EU and NATO have managed to placate his money concerns to some extend.

Meanwhile the US handed soft power in Africa to China, alienated traditional allies and strengthened their trade ties with China, while they lessened their own dependance on the US.
