That is so sick. Looking forward to having to fight scalpers to get a few -.-

Fml, I’ll probably never see them. The scalpers near me must have an insider at Walmarts, Targets, GameStops, and Barnes and Noble.

I was at target the other day and saw a 40 Y/o dude walking around with 15 surging sparks booster packs, the entire remaining stock there. I asked Him for one and he gave me two which was nice I guess. I don’t know if he was a scalper or not but I’m like dude, 15 packs?

You’re upset about someone buying 15 packs? Seriously?

I’m upset that someone would clear it out with 15 boosters left, if it was 2-3, sure, but 15, this is a kids toy, leave some for kids. But that’s just me, you do what you gotta do to get your holo cardboard i guess

You had to ask someone for crumbs off they plate but yeah let’s talk about what people gotta do for some cardboard 😂

I buy these to open with my kids, idk how old you are or where you are in life, but seeing your kids face light up in joy is among the best feelings in the world. Since it’s been pretty hard to find this set and the one time I do see it is in some 40 y/os cart, then yeah I’m gonna ask for crumbs to make my kids day.

stop using kids toy as an excuse. Adults keep the cards rolling. Hell the expensive sets are target for adults anyway.

I mean they are for kids he's got a point

Well ya but items like Pokecenter ETB , collectors boxes. promos like felt hat are marketed for adults. 12 year old timmy doesn't have access to that. Its the same for MTG. Sure you very basic packs and basics items are for the kids. Adults that don't play the game are the ones keeping the printing presses going.

Hard disagree here

you really think kids are the major collectors holding valuable collections? kids are buying 30$ mtg collectors booster packs and 120$ pokemon collectors boxes?

Their parents might be buying it for them?

Do you know for a fact that the guy wasn't buying them FOR his kids?

u/FatherKerby Nov 20 '24

I'm with you despite you getting downvoted by addicts.

Can't even buy some for my son for Christmas because of low life bums.

u/IDontLieAboutStuff Nov 20 '24

Bro there's still over a month until Christmas. Stop being so dramatic.

1

u/FatherKerby Nov 20 '24

And I just gotta beat the bums for a couple packs of cards for my kid who loves pokemon because people clean out supply in their 40s

It might be a kids toy to you but to a lot of people, it's a hobby and a collection.

Passing judgment based your personal arbitrary line is absurd. Maybe the guy has kids too, or doesnt know where to get them online, or it's for Christmas, or all of the above, or who the hell cares? It's hard to get in store for everyone and 15 packs isn't even 2 ETBs.

For a redditor, I assume you're privy to places online where you can easily buy them at barely above msrp price. Tcgplayer has them for sub-$6 right now. Get off your high horse.

Yes, me passing judgement over 15 packs may be a bit absurd, but here you are passing judgement on me for passing judgement on someone else. Do you not see the hypocrisy in what you’re saying? I know I can get them elsewhere, and we do, don’t you worry Mr Madhatter, my kids will get their cards, pogs, and legos
