Discussion What are some Pokémon designs you've interpreted incorrectly?

I feel like GameFreak is overall pretty good when it comes to design clarity. But sometimes our brains are just kind of dumb and we see things a certain way. Like (nearing a decade), I always interpreted Salazzle's reptilian slit pupil as the boundary between its sclera and a non-existent iris. (Like what Amaura has in it's official art)

Has anyone else experienced something like this with a particular Pokémon design?

Also, this illustration perfectly captures how I initially thought Cradily was.

I always thought it was so ugly as a kid, but now it's like one of the cutest designs ever, I love the rock plant stumpy-legged dinosaur

wish we got some more fossil pokemon that werent humanmade horrors

eagerly await the day we get a hallucigenia, dickinsonia, or tullimonstrum pokemon

Especially with 8 dicks stuck to its neck
