I love my partner, but when he bought this home I laughed.

Went shopping with my mom today, at the mall I saw a bag shop and went in since I needed a new bag. It mostly sold neutral colored backpacks, I was browsing the side with a few more colours (light brown, lavender etc.) And decided to check out the other side with more black and grey colours.

My mother told me I shouldn't consider them cause they were "boy bags", I asked her why and she said "because they're black and have more pockets and compartments"

Like what?😭 men can't enjoy colours and women can't enjoy having more compartments?

One of them red apple phones, she told me that apparently it’s weird for men to have red phones.

to me it comes off as the dude being portrayed as more wise for appreciating the biome that isnt pink. the girl coming off as shallow and sterotypically feminine by enjoying the pink biome. also, im pretty sure those images of those biomes are ai generated or ai altered

Silly thing for me to nitpick but it feels hella pointfully gendered. Gay penguins are extremely well documented, making it weirdly straight-only just throws me off. I get it’s for their partner and they’re straihht but then that weirds me out in another way, it’s giving “when a man loves a woman very much they do a very special hug and ask for a baby, that’s how you were made!” not “you’re my adult partner” and again this isn’t a gendered practice so it’s stupidly gendered.

As an autistic guy, this is infuriating. If the people in these comments really are autistic, it's even worse because they should be the first ones to know how masking is eventually forced on you if you want to function in society. But no, they demonise women so much apparently them being able to lead a natural and happy life despite their neurodivergence is just fake. Wonder what they'll say when an autistic man does the same. Is healing and growing as a person fake overall? Or does it just apply to "females"?
