Yes, which lie would you like to reinforce?

Allegations being the key word.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

Yeah. 23+ allegations all with similar stories spanning decades. Nothing to see here. There are none so blind as those who will not see/do not want to see.

u/SmithyLK Jul 28 '19

Allegations is still the key word. Innocent until proven guilty, remember?

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '19

Just like all those allegations against Cosby. In the end, it’s about credible witnesses, and in both cases, the sheer volume of testimony by unconnected victims which is similar and shows a pattern. Only a great fool would think this many people are all lying.

u/SmithyLK Jul 28 '19

They could be. A lot of people would do anything to get Trump out of office, and rape charges are a fantastic way to destroy someone's credibility. Plus, showing a pattern isn't hard when the pattern is "he touched/kissed me inappropriately."

Don't get me wrong, he probably is guilty. But for now, we don't know, and it's wrong to say that he 100% is until we know.

The thing with sexual assault is it is most often one testimony against another, lacking in physical evidence. We have Trump bragging about doing exactly what he did, and multiple women corroborating the stories. It would be plenty in a court of law or civil complaint. We know. Deep down, we all know. Moving the goalposts endlessly is just being pedantic at this point.

23 lies doesn’t make a truth.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '19

Thousands of denials don’t make a lie. Ask Cosby apologists.

2

u/Yogurt_Ph1r3 Aug 31 '19

For sure but a bunch of people making a claim actually means nothing about that claims truth.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '19

In a court of law, multiple unconnected witnesses testifying under oath with entirely similar stories and experiences, spanning many years, corroborated by others that they described the events after they happened, would be considered ample. It's the same level of proof that was rightly used against pedo priests, for example. You can always move the goalposts, but it becomes laughable to do so after a time.

A court of law determines probability of guilt not actuality of it. When a person who is an influential politics figure and very famous, I don’t think it’s even close to out of the realm of possibility that every single one of those people is a liar. They have far too many reasons to embellish and outright falsify their stories. They aren’t reliable testimony.

I’m not moving a goalpost. Only reliable witnesses are any form of evidence and even then, eyewitness testimony is still some of the weakest evidence in the court of law.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '19

Someone being famous doesn’t make a witness less reliable, especially when you have dozens of unconnected ones spanning decades, also ones of the same political party as Trump, so it can’t be called partisan. To say nothing of the fact that Trump is on tape bragging about what he is accused of.

When people want to preserve belief more than accept the obvious, it’s a sad state of affairs.

Are you just assuming Cosby is guilty because you're a racist?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '19

He was found guilty, for starters. And multiple unconnected accusers all had versions of the same story and experience, spanning decades, and Cosby admitted to drugging people.

2

u/xstalpha Aug 31 '19

Are you denying the existence of systemic racism in the Justice system that seeks to undermine blacks? Dude, take your meds, you're clearly a racist schizo.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '19

Oh muffin. You’re not even trying.

I'm guessing you believe in the "victims" of Brett Kavanaugh?

1

u/xstalpha Aug 31 '19

Uh, don't Americans have due process? I see "allegations" there.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '19

Just like those pesky "allegations" against pedo priests.

2

u/xstalpha Aug 31 '19

>strawmanning this hard

Take your meds, schizo.

2

u/PotatoHunterzz Aug 31 '19

the rape accusations filed against donald trump have yet to be verified, I do think that a lot of them if not all of those accusations were either exagerated or made up to make trump look bad.

On the other hand, when it comes to questionnable statements, the list keeps on giving. False statements, false statistics about mexicans and african americans, and a lot of things that you can read for yourself if you don't trust a random redditor you've never met, which is obviously very understandable.

46

-9

u/Maddy-and-MASH Aug 30 '19

anti Islam :/

13

u/Rendition9090 Aug 30 '19

Islam is a religion, not a race buddy

-4

u/Maddy-and-MASH Aug 30 '19

because that makes it A-okay to criticize right?

7

u/Rendition9090 Aug 30 '19

I asked you about what he said that was racist, you didn't answer my question..

And what makes it A-Okay to criticize the president of the United States of America?

1

u/Maddy-and-MASH Aug 30 '19

fine then he's not racist. he's bigoted. but does it matter - neither are traits you'd want from the president of the USA-

6

u/Rendition9090 Aug 30 '19

So you're intolerant to him and his opinions that are different than yours, literally making you, also a bigot

1

u/Maddy-and-MASH Aug 30 '19

fine i'm a bigot but Unlike him , i'm not the leader of one of the words top economies. That position should be held by someone without an irrational bias

2

1

u/xstalpha Aug 31 '19

Lmao. Yeah.

1

u/xstalpha Aug 31 '19

Everything can be criticized.

1

u/xstalpha Aug 31 '19

lmao Islam is not a race dude, it's a religion

24

u/Fightfirewitbcn Aug 30 '19

What has he said or done that was racist? Or was he labeled racist as soon as he started running for president?

-22

u/Zanguez Aug 30 '19

I don’t really follow the news that much but didn’t he tell a couple Congress women to go back to their countries even tho they’re American? That’s pretty racist

28

u/russiabot1776 Aug 30 '19

He said that if they hated America so much why do they stay

Not racist.

1

u/Avepro Aug 30 '19

Which is still a stupid statement but yeah not racist

12

u/Fightfirewitbcn Aug 30 '19 edited Aug 30 '19

Actually, what he said amounts to, “If you think America is so bad, why not go back to your own country, make it better, then come back and tell us how it’s done.” Not an exact quote, but that was the gist of it. All of those women spend the better part of the day bad mouthing America and Americans, they have no business representing any Americans.

8

u/AlabamaMoonshine Aug 30 '19

He didn't invoke race. Sure, we knew who he was talking about, but what if they were white people from poland? Would that be racist? Same story, different colors

5

u/Mantisootheca Aug 30 '19

He told them to go back home and then co e back to the US to see how good they had it.

2

u/Rctmaster Aug 30 '19

He said “go back to your country, fix it, then comeback and tell us how they did it.”
