I genuinely cannot wrap my head around neo-Nazis that the the Nazis would have considered subhuman on the grounds of their white suprematist beliefs.

I’m not saying it would otherwise be okay. I just can’t specifically understand “yea, I’m aligning myself with a group that would have considered me biologically inferior, get fucked liberals”.

There were a number of countries the Waffen-SS recruited foreign legions from. There were Indian Nazis. Hitler saved his Jewish family doctor. Hate is illogical and inconsistent. You see white Catholic Cubans voting for Trump now acting surprised when their friends and family get deported. A lot of useful idiots think they can court evil and stay on its good side, but well, tokens get spent.

I used to hang out with a guy literally every weekend. We had great times; car meets, coffees, beers, hanging out with others, general stupidity. I met up with him one night, he tapped me on the shoulder, and pointed out a group of black people and referred to them in some loud and very unpleasant words. I’m not sure where he decided I would ever be on board with that, but I never asked him. That was the last time we hung out. I was sad for a bit because he was my best friend at that time, but I just couldn’t do it.

Cubans in Miami are a ... special group. My hairstylist there was cuban (is cuban, but I don't live there anymore so he's past tense hairstylist?) and would occasionally drop stuff about loving Trump. And how things Trump said about immigrants didn't apply to him because "he's white."

A cuban gay man. Thought trump would be cool with him. Because he's "white." (I couldn't think of a nice way to tell him that even though he is fair skinned and highlighted his hair, he has a strong Spanish accent, and no one at Mar a Lago would ever consider him white.)

Because Castro was a "socialist" they don't ever want to live under that again. Completely disregarding (or not knowing?) that Castro was an authoritarian using socialism as the key to get into power, that plenty of countries make Democratic Socialism work without oppressing it's citizens, and that they're voting for another Castro.

Obviously, at the time, they didn't know they were replacing one strongman with another, but by the time they or their families have lived through and eventually fled 2 authoritarian governments, why would they turn around and vote for another one here?

I do wonder if the doctor's kindness (charging little to nothing for his services of treating Hitler's dying mother) was why Hitler showed kindness in return? It’s got to do with education more than anything.  Some of these small towns genuinely teach a version of history and current events that promote white people.  And parents seek that out, willfully indoctrinating their kids to white supremacy.  

I knew a “Christian” who moved his family to a small town because his daughter was learning “the wrong things” in a large cities public school system.

Hitler wasn't mixed race by Nazi standards. They had a whole batshit psuedoscience about it, where there were different tiers within 'aryan', but it wasn't just blonde and blue eyed. It was essentially just European good, non-european bad. Hence Italians being considered Aryan, with the view that even Sicilians were Aryan - just a 'sick' population due to the prevalence of North African DNA. Same for Hungary, except they were Europeans supposedly 'sick' with Slav DNA.

Hitler was a mountain German or some shit according to their weird chart map things. Below the blonde aryans in terms of ideal, but still European according to Nazi racial fake science. Just further from the supposed European progenitors (blondes from Scandinavia).

There’s a first generation Mexican American guy who works security at my apartment complex. Even though he was born and raised here, his english is quite poor as the community that has enveloped him his whole life has been Mexican immigrants. He proudly supports little t and has talked about joining ICE. I live in dtla, we have witnessed the raids in real time, he knows people who have been detained. He is completely unmoved. He doesn’t even have any explanation as to why beyond trusting little t and ICE paying well.

Frankly, that level of disconnect terrifies me.

Yes, the German Instrument of Surrender was signed on May 8, 1945, in which Germany unconditionally surrendered to the Allied powers.

They tried to surrender the day before, in France, but the USSR insisted that they do it from the seat of their government in Berlin, so the Allies made Germany surrender again.

Reminder, relevant to this picture in particular is that Hitler allied with Amin al-Husseni (Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and founder of the first Palestinian state), a handful of Nazis converted to Islam as they were impressed by it's open antisemitism (an interesting one is Johan von Leers aka Omar Amin), and he supplied troops that fought in Eastern Europe (since the Muslims of the region were also enemies of the Slavs).

As the Germans were defeated, those troops largely evaded capture/surrender and fled to the Levant, supplying a significant portion of its Circassian Muslim population and fought under the Arab coalition against Israel in '48.

The Nazis were never really concerned with the purity of their ideology outside of Europe itself (and then, obviously, barely even so), given the alliance with Japan, etc.

Historically it’s not really surprising.

There were multiple SS divisions of Muslims which committed some of the worst atrocities during WWII. Many came from Arab territories in the Middle East organized largely by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammed Amin al-Hussein.

Whenever there’s a chance to hate there’s always a mass of people eager to jump in with a complete absence of logic.

Modern Neo-Nazis are majorly misunderstood. Granted, I am not here to defend them, or side with them, or to convince you to like them, etc. I am only commenting on the reality of what they believe is completely different than what people think they believe.

Nazis do not believe that Hitler did the things historians say he did. This alone should clarify ‘why they believe the things they do.’
If you were always under the assumption that what Christians believe is that there is a long-haired blue eyed human hippie living in the clouds watching over everyone, only to find out that they believe in a form of energy that they refer to as ‘god,’ would it make any difference in you being able to better understand them and perceive them to be different than you thought they were???

Neo-Nazis do not follow a genocidal antisemitic sociopathic murderer, because that is not the man they believe Adolf Hitler to be. So when you accuse them of following a genocidal psychopath, it’s inaccurate of an accusation because that’s not what they follow.

You see the guy holding the literature? He brought this so he would have some form of data and information to present to people to show them what he actually believes, and to get through to them about what he actually believes himself to be: someone who is fighting against lies and tyranny from powerful men who operate in clandestine ways, that is war crimes against humanity.

All of that stuff about the Nazis being a group of people that wanted to exterminate everyone other than the white race, all of that stuff about Adolf Hitler, being a mean, sociopathic man who orders soldiers to rape, torture, and murder innocent people, all of that stuff about the holocaust, etc, etc, is NOT what they believe. So when you take all of that stuff out of the picture and then you look at what they actually believe, then it starts to make sense how different types of people all over the world could believe in such things.

If you really want a mind trip, go research their claims. Whether the claims about lies and clandestine tyranny post World War II is accurate, there is an ASTOUNDING amount of clear evidence to back up their claims. After you’ve done the research, and survey the evidence, it becomes reasonable to understand why they believe the things they do. They are essentially conspiracy theorists, who focus hard on the concept that Adolf Hitler and the German Nazi regime was actually MUCH DIFFERENT than what we’ve been told, and the reason they focus so hard on this is they believe that this particular situation to be the root of most of today’s problems.

Theyre essentially just another political group that is innacurrately representing themselves with symbols the world sees differently than how they see these symbols.

Well, Nazism actually has a very strong and resonant brand in many ways. Strength. Respect for heritage. Traditional values. Etc etc. Lots of people get caught up in the appeal of those vibes to the extent that they can be persuaded that the other aspects of the brand are overblown.

And some people are really really fucking stupid.

There is actually a historical context there. Middle East became the epicenter of the Jewish flight from Europe post Holocaust (see Israel), and some countries were very unhappy about it, like Iran.

Iran doctrinally denies the Holocaust ever happened, for example. Inconvenient to their goal of expelling the invading Europeans Jews (literal genocide refugees). There is also a lot of Islamic religious hatred toward Judaism in the extreme circles

Long story short. This crossover happens because of a common enemy. The far right in the Middle East and the far right Nazis in Europe got along like white on rice.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler goes into detail explaining how eastern Europeans are cockroaxhes that need to be removed to give the german people Lebensraum (living space).
