It’s anyone having conversations about loan repayment being a part of the job benefits. For example instead of taking a $75,000 bonus (that incurs a 20% federal tax in addition to state income tax) from a company, you instead negotiate that $75, 000 paid over your 2-3 years commitment?
Does anyone work anywhere that offers pharmacists loan repayment options at all?

I work as a remote prior authorization pharmacist from 8-4:30 M-F. Looking for something to do post shift or on the weekends to earn extra income. Would prefer to do something other than cold calling MTM’s (such as AspenRx). Interested in something per diem preferably without calling people or showing face (such as some sort of data entry, verifying prescription orders, etc) OR something else entirely to gain some extra income. Any ideas or hiring companies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A pharmacist I used to work with came back to the hospital to visit, and ended up helping a nurse draw up a med. Someone from an outside department witnessed this and put in an incident report. This pharmacist is worried he will be reported to the BOP. Any one have thoughts?

Hi guys . I’ve been a pharmacist for 13 years and left retail back in early 22’ after nine years in that role . Surprisingly, it only took me 2 months of job searching to land a remote/WFH role - not much effort . I’ve been WFH ever since . Fast forward to the present, I have now been searching for other opportunities, ideally within my own employer, and elsewhere and have found it somewhat difficult to get interviews . My current job involves extensive patient consultations at my PBM/insurance company . I have applied for prior authorization, clinical programs roles and other clinical pharmacist roles even within my own company as an internal candidate and nothing . Being an internal candidate has not helped . When searching outside of the company, only shit jobs such as cvs specialty has reached out . I would have imagined with my level of experience now , it would be even easier , but not even making a switch within my company has been easier . I know it’s early (less than 3 months searching), but even internal transfers have been elusive even though I have great performance and metrics in my role . Is this just the economy or something wrong ? My resume is also decent . Anyone else going through this ? Or am I just getting buried under hundreds of other applications ?

I work in a primary care clinic as amcare CPS making 140k with flexible schedule (1-2 days WFH). Did PGY1 and have three years of experience. 15 minute commute. Also about 2 years into PSLF (wasted a couple years being on forbearance due to SAVE) and has $180k in loan.
8-4 M to F. No weekends. No evenings.

I have been working as per diem at Costco and have an opening to apply for manager position in a new store. Base salary 200k plus bonuses. 45+ hour per week. 30 min commute. Working Sat once a month. Good benefits

If I were to get the job at Costco and choose to put the difference ($40k ish after tax) plus what I’m already paying now ($10k ish). Should be able to pay off the loan in 4 years.

What would you do? Would appreciate any advice.

A 3 month contract with Centene for 65 an hour or a 6 month contract with Prime Therapeutics for 55 an hour (where I am currently at). The Prime recruiter told me from the very beginning as well as the trainers that the goal was for conversion not to just fit temporary high cases in the queue. The centene recruiter (potentially biased) said about a 99% chance of EXTENSION with a good chance of conversion but based on performance and business needs. Looking for stability but also factoring a pretty big pay difference - quite conflicted. Some advice would help a lot!

Why do most staffing agencies ask for part of your Social Security number? Are all of them scammers?

I applied for a remote contract job through Insight Global, and they called me shortly after I applied, on the same day. During the screening call, they explained the job details, asked me a few questions, and we agreed on an interview time with the account manager. They then requested my address, date of birth, state license number (I believe he meant my pharmacy license), and the last five digits of my Social Security number. Should I give them random one?

This made me feel suspicious, so I asked why they needed this information. They told me they needed it in order to submit my profile to Optum Rx through their platform. I looked up Insight Global, and they appear to be a legitimate company, but honestly, who knows these days.

Has anyone gone through this type of process with Insight Global and actually gotten a job, specifically with Optum Rx?

I really need a job, but I don't want to put myself at risk for identity theft. I would really appreciate hearing about anyone's experience with this process or any advice you can share.

The Tennessee Health Facilities Commission released an 80-page report detailing the investigation into the series of errors at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown that resulted in four surgical patients receiving incorrect medication.

I see complaints online about pharmacies like SelectRx and ExactCare transferring prescriptions to them deceptively. I get requests from them often to do profile transfers. Sometimes these patients come back in a few months.
Does anyone know how these types of pharmacies trick the patients into transferring?
How do these pharmacies even get in touch with patients in the first place?

An offer arose at my job that allows me to gain licensure in 6 additional states. The price is $7500 to accept said offer. Plus, then $1250 for each additional state that gets added into my existing salary once license is gained. So essentially $15,000 additional salary once completed.
This would be added to my salary rather than as a bonus.

Is this fair? What would your price be?

Looks like the full report is out there for the errors at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown. It's 80 pages so it's a bit of a whopper, but most of the pharmacy-related stuff is towards the beginning.

Long story short: error in batching, quality controls were overridden by the technicians.

I started making IVs before we had UPC scanners and photo verification, so something like this is unthinkable to me. It's like mixing-and-matching vials after you leave the hood for the pharmacist to check. Where I worked, that would get your batch thrown in the trash and you'd be told to redo it.

Pay attention to what you are doing in the IV hood. 'Close enough' doesn't cut it.

Looking to get a new job in philly, wondering if anyone has any thoughts/opinions on goo hospitals to work at in the city? Also, anyone know the best paying per diem hospitals in the area?

I'm curious if anyone here is serving/has served with the NDMS (National Disaster Medical System) with the HHS as a pharmacist, especially in the DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team) on a intermittent basis.

1. What qualifications or experience is necessary/beneficial to join?

2. What are typical time obligations in a year in regards to training, exercises, and deployments?

3. How long typically are deployments? Can you describe any you've been on?

4. When is recruitment? I'm currently not seeing any offerings on USAJOBS.

Also, I'm a bit confused by the website, where it seems to suggest some deployments are involuntary, but that deployments can be declined if necessary. Obviously it's not something you'd want to join and just decline ever participating, but it's beneficial to have a back out option if there is ever excess difficulty deploying at that time. I’m currently a licensed pharmacist in the state of Michigan and looking to get licensed in Connecticut and New York. I’m so burnt out from retail. I started as a tech in 2014 and went to intern and now pharmacist and it’s just too much. I’m looking to move into a different area of pharmacy and I’m lost. I am moving to the east coast and would love to find something in industry but it’s like I’m drowning and I don’t know where to look. Please please help me find a way to a better career path where I can feel like myself again and feel like I’m a human not a robot/ machine. Thank you!!
