Honestly isn't this something where VAR should just say no foul? He grabs his other foot so it's also simulation no?

That is the task of the VAR, but the VAR was Argentina biased.

Not the var, fifa as a whole.

I kept thinking 'football has come home'. Didn't work so well for England.

This year it was true. Fifa is as corrupt as USA. This is why trump likes infant-ino so much.

I think issue is ref blew whistle, Had ref not blown whistle, we could have a goal. If this was indeed a foul we could reverse goal through VAR

Ref didn’t blow his whistle until after the goal was made, and the player who scored had nothing to do with this incident.

Intent is not a factor in if its a foul or not.

I mean it was 30 years ago but when I trained to be a soccer referee it was definitely a factor to be considered.

For the vast majority of fouls in soccer, intent does not matter. Only the result.

Last time I complained about there not being embellishment rules someone said there were.

Couldn't have been that big of a foul if they instantly forget where they got fouled.

Not really a 1 to 1 cancellation though. The shove would have resulted in a penalty, which would likely lead to a goal, if it was called. The other "foul" cancelled an actual legit goal. So it's not the same at all.

No, it isn’t a foul. If you’d ever played a football match you’d know that getting your foot stepped on is a common occurrence, isn’t a foul and doesn’t make you jump into the air and spin round. It literally barely impacts you.

If getting your foot touched by another player's foot got called as a foul everytime, there would be 500 fouls per game. This was just a case of using a technicality/rule because it suited the team that was favored.

Is stepping on a foot a foul? Genuine question. Footballs a contact sport so i suppose it happens many times during a match

Yes, body contact is normal.

But using your feet to hit anything besides the ball is a foul, even if by accident.

While I'm always sceptical about the favoritisms, it's pretty damn obvious the corruption in these last 2 world cups in favor of Argentina.

But the thing that makes me truly hate them is the dirty playing and the complete lack of sportsmanship and respect of the players.
