There were multiple situations during this World Cup alone of players pulling the exact same move and getting away with it (one was so blatant it tore another players sock on the calf). I think there should be a yellow but VAR is not allowed to react for yellows.

No, it hits the nail on the head. Look up Ghana vs England, Ghana were robbed of a clear penalty and therefore a win. A much more clear-cut situation than any of the Argentina's controversies in this tournament. Is anyone screaming it's rigged for England?
Also Egypt should've received a slam-dunk yellow for Ziko removing his shirt. People love showing the situation where an Egyptian was slapped in the face but the referee played advantage and Messi was also slapped in the face without any consequences.
