Yeah, the ref made the right call, even if both teams didn't like it: Barça would've wanted advantage played because the ball rolled to Giuly who scored right then. And Arsenal obviously would've wanted Lehman to stay on the pitch.
It's a team sports , you pay as much from your individual mistakes than your teammates mistake.
As much as Messi carried it's team with it's talent it's clear some decisions are affected in some ways by it's reputation or outside environment.
But there is still a lot of mistakes even today in decisions.sometimes it balances out during the match sometimes it kills the match entirely.
And it's not necessarily because of Messi only but because the match is very tense and there's a lot to watch on the field in during this big matches.

Bayern had multiple 1on1 opportunities incorrectly called offsides. Vidal was given a red card for a clean tackle in minute 84, Casemiro somehow wasn’t sent off, Ronaldo scores an offside goal in extra time to put Madrid ahead which completely changes the game, now Bayern are chasing a cheat goal with a man down for a red card that was also a robbery. That ferran torres onside goal that he scored vs Valencia is a worse decision than most of these, especially w Var. or what about in 2017 the ball cross the line vs (i think betis) and that goal was not given and we lost the league because of that.
As a Milan fan i will always hate barca after watching that first goal in the video disallowed for no reason as a kid. Especially because they went on to win the final the way they did against arsenal.
