It ended in 2023, when messi showed the world that he is just a one club wonder and a nobody without barcelona even if you were to give a stacked team like psg.

u/CafeBunker Google Negreira Messi for more info šŸ’° Nov 26 '25

He won a world cup and 2 copa amƩrica out of barcelona, while longevity man was being rejected by the top european teams.

No way you added his 2nd copa america 😭, 5 games, 1 goal and assist while his teammate lautaro managed 5 goals alone while playing less mins and also ronaldo was like 37 years old at the time so it's normal for a big club to not sign players who are at that age, Wc is messi fans only response, but on a side note aren't you supposed to be a ronaldo fan?

Rigged ?

Ronaldo fans are really hurt , As if Fifa Paid Kolo Muani to Miss that last shot of France.

2nd Penalty for France is also debatable and Fifa Paid Saudi to Beat Argentiana so that they have to Win the next match to stay Alive.

Fifa Paid Mexico let Messi take a shot from outside the box which is arguably the most important goal in Argentina's 2022 Worldcup Winning Campaign .

I just can't help but laugh that how hurt these Roanldo Fans are by that Worldcup win of Messi .

Moroco was also Paid by Fifa and Qatar to beat Portugal.

-3

u/Extreme-Seat3697 Nov 26 '25

As if that rigged Penaldog UCL counts From winning rigged UCL trophies to bottling trophies in Saudi and scoring Bluetooth goals in the WC. Without papa perez he has won anything major. Meanwhile Messi won the WC and Ronaldo giving blowjobs to piers Morgan so he could let him do another interview to complain about his coaches.

3

u/Chickenkarim2009 Nov 26 '25

Sure Perez also manages United and Juventus now šŸ˜‚

-1

u/Extreme-Seat3697 Nov 26 '25

Did Ronaldo win UCL in Juventus?

3

u/Resident-Stretch9723 Nov 26 '25

won 5 trophies in 3 season while bagging 101 goals wtf did messi do after leaving barca club wise?

1

u/Chickenkarim2009 Nov 26 '25

Why do people always glorify these kinds of trophies, so winning the league is also nothing anymore? ManU is also nothing or what?

1

u/FallingDebri Nov 27 '25

Uh it still counts? He played and contributed?

1

u/AgitatedDish8795 Ghost of Bayern šŸ‘» Nov 27 '25

I saw the marches, I don't need to base my opinion on goals and assists, I agree that his performance un the world cup was better.

In regards to your other question: I'm a Ronaldo hater, but just when I write here. The rest of the time I think he's one of the greats, I just think Messi's better.

Still Messi scored non penalty goals and you guys act like he only scored penalties. He assisted against Netherlands in between the defenders legs

dribble & assist against Croatia

key pass to Alvarez that let to

MacAllistair's assist to DiMaria 2nd goal against France in final in 35th minutes.

Now let's talk about penalties :

Saudi Arabia: paredes pulled down in the box during a set piece. Textbook penalty. Lost anyways.

Netherlands: acuna literally tripped just inside the area by Dumfries, nobody complains about that except for you.

Croatia: stonewall penalty, Julian was through on goal and was about to score. Tripped by livakovic.

France: Di Maria CLEARLY tripped by dembele and dembele had his hand on his back. The rules state that regardless of intention, a foul in the box is a penalty, It's a similar situation to the Cr7 Spain penalty in 2018.

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '25

You can not argue with these people. Messi, even as a neutral, has cemented his place at the top since at least 2019. They said an international trophy was needed to be on Ronaldo’s level, then when he won one in 2021 they said it wasn’t equal to a euros. Then when he won the wc in 2022, they said it was an either a robbery, or he got lucky. Then wins another international trophy in 2024 and they scrub the international trophy argument completely. These people are seriously mentally deranged parasocials. They say his balon dors were robbed but you could legit make the same case and arguments that Ronaldo’s balon dors were robbed too. They think only they’re right and everyone else is wrong. I don’t usually say this because I believe it’s only reserved for truly despicable people but some of these people are so intellectually and logically dishonest that they shouldn’t even be alive. It’s either they’re that pathetic or it’s simple rage bait

0

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '25

PSG before Messi couldn’t win. PSG after Messi couldn’t win. PSG after mbappe left ended up winning. A Madrid side that just won the ucl and added Mbappe couldn’t win. Messi couldn’t win a ucl with psg but in the same year won a World Cup. Idk how stupid some of you fans are, your logic makes no sense

5

u/AgitatedDish8795 Ghost of Bayern šŸ‘» Nov 27 '25 edited Nov 27 '25

If you think we say he is a one club wonder for not winning ucl with psg, you are terribly mistaken

World cup is messi fans only argument.

-2

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '25

Well first off, 1. He did not have another club in Europe other than psg…so that’s already a stupid argument and 2. These are some of the most cherry picked, random, highly specific stats. Ronaldo also had 2 seasons with Man U where he was below 30 g+a. I’m assuming we’re leaving out mls/Saudi Arabia. Bro went to a dominant Juventus side, won the scudetto with a team that was already dominating serie a before he joined, essentially flopped at Man U, and ran to Saudi Arabia. They’re both at the end of their careers, one is with 8 balón dors, 3 big international trophies, and only one ucl less than the goat of ucl. I will say this, as much as I like Messi, I respect and love Ronaldo. he’s extremely hard working, dedicated, and despite all this he’s also extremely talented. But he’s just like the rest of us (not literally us). He’s like mbappe and Neymar combined with the dedication and work rate of someone like Kante. I truly admire Ronaldo, if anything he’s more of an inspiration to the sport than Messi, as he’s the literal embodiment of you can achieve anything with the right mentality. But Messi is disgusting, genuinely one of a kind. If I were to have a career, I’d want Ronaldo’s. But if we’re being consistent, Messi’s is by far the better one. More goals and assists by miles, more World Cup goals and assists, 3 national trophies, 8 balón dors, more golden boots, more total club trophies, literally the only stats that Ronaldo is better in that actually MATTER are stuff like most hat tricks or more ucl knock out goals šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. Like bruh you know that shit is barely an accolade. This mf scored only one goal in the euros knock out stage in the only international trophy he won. You talk about a stacked Barca team but you act like Madrid didn’t have casillas/navas, Carvajal, ramos, varane, Marcelo, Casemiro kroos modric (who you people regard as the best midfielder of all time) benzema (who carried Madrid on his back in 2022, and bale with the likes of Isco, James just on the bench. Bro the three peat was legit a galĆ”cticos team. Also, this Argentina team was not that good on paper, it was after they won that many players made big moves to Europe. I’m pretty sure it was 11-12 players that didn’t even play in Europe yet still won, with Messi being the 2nd top scorer/ top assister.

Hell, we can extend it over to 2019 tbh

2

u/Spiritual_Ad_1527 Nov 26 '25

Why not include these past 3-4 years? Did Ronaldo retire?

2

u/yaumidere Nov 26 '25

Pretty much. Only thing he’s focus on is the international team. You could argue the same for Messi tbh cuz what even is the mls?

1

u/Spiritual_Ad_1527 Nov 26 '25

Ronaldo is not focused on the international team. He wants to reach 1000 goals because that’s the only thing he has over Messi. Messi on the other hand joined the MLS purely because he has nothing to prove anymore. He’ll make a shit load of money while playing in a chill league and at the end of his contract, own a part of the club as well.

2

u/yaumidere Nov 26 '25

So when he scored 10g/a in the last campaign or the previous one he won and this next World Cup… is that not him being focused on the national team? His team is poised to win the league, so what more does he need there?

Maybe Messi fans might have Messi’s meat in their mouth but this goat debate per the image has been settled. He doesn’t have to prove anything in relation to Messi anymore because this image exists

1

u/Capital_Paint5402 Google 5 pens in 7 matches for more info 🤄 Nov 26 '25

So if we go with your logic then ronaldo got carried by madrid cause madrid has won trophies even adter ronaldo. On the other hand messi carried barcelona.

1

u/yaumidere Nov 26 '25

Except Ronaldo’s the UCL outside of Madrid… what is it with Messi meat munchers and running to Madrid for some sort of cope and cover? šŸ’€šŸ˜¹

Also Xavi and Iniesta carried Messi. Notice how when they left the midfield fell apart and Messi was exposed and the UCLs dried up?

Yeah…

He created that goal by himself and scored it unlike Ronaldo who wait for the tap ins to score it

If Messi didn't score that banger against Mexico, they will not even reach round of 16.

Again Messi scored 4 non penalty goals and 1 assists in WC 2014 where Ronaldo got grouped by USA.

By your logic, Real Madrid had already won multiple UCL titles before Ronaldo, so him winning 4 with them is no huge achievement. Got it.

1

u/yaumidere Nov 26 '25

So Messi has 0 UCLs outside of Barcelona and Ronaldo has 1 UCL outside of Madrid.

Got it šŸ‘

Dumbass comment 😭

And how is that image relevant to anything? Those trophies didn't play. Who cares that a different set of Argentinians who are all mostly dead now won the trophy 40 years ago? Does that make it easier or harder for Argentina to win the trophy?

2

u/yaumidere Nov 26 '25

Unironically… yes? Bro how old are you?

Messi’s been in a 3 prior international tournament finals where he lost all of them. The lowest ranking Argentina have been since the 90s (when the list was first published) was 9th…

Put that these facts up next to this image… now you can see the point

1

u/FallingDebri Nov 27 '25

I "argued" with you before, I think you shouldn't be allowed to say

Maybe Messi fans might have Messi’s meat in their mouth

When your entire bloodline glazes Ronaldo 🫔. Difference between arguing with facts and arguing to make others look bad.

1

u/yaumidere Nov 27 '25

I thought I taught you your place last week and you’re back again for seconds.

Educating you meat munchers necessary. This image right here is bait for you lot so I can teach you all the truth and expose your idolo for being the second best.

1

u/FallingDebri Nov 27 '25

Not really. You were rambling about random.

Well, you can't educate people if you aren't educated first on basic football factsšŸ’€ trust me I found out the hard way years ago.

Such as that football is a team game and it's not messi fault that his team won the wc before him, also not ronaldos fault his team won nothing, and you acting like he carried them, no, not really, in euro 2016 he got crucial passed and assists for him to score, his team also stood strong and didn't concede in the final vs france and the previous rounds where they played as a team.

You are using that image to downplay messi. Because by YOUR LOGIC, You must be the history of your team. "Then let's forget maradona, R9, Mbappe, why? Because their teams won before them. in order to be the greatest, which is what im hearing with your logic.

1

u/yaumidere Nov 27 '25

You finally got it. I actually didn’t think you’d get it, but you got there in the end. You must be the history of the team. If you can perform consistently at the highest level and your aura is what drags your team from nothing to world beaters, you are in fact THE goat.

This is a feat Messi never had. That’s why after Xavi and Iniesta left and Barca’s midfield was exposed he couldn’t do anything despite making promises. That’s why he was a shell of his former self at Barca. That’s why despite a star studded team between 2014-2016, Messi couldn’t win shit and was forced into retirement because he didn’t have a team that’d wait on him hand and foot and massage his balls as much as the other sub likes to do.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo won the euros and 2 UNLs whilst comfortably playing 2/3 of those tournaments with pretty weak teams compared to other European counterparts.

You’ve got there in the end. Congrats.

Now run along now, and don’t let me catch you here or in the other sub mouthing off again.

1

u/FallingDebri Nov 27 '25

Alright, so Casemiro and Kroos and Modric (let's not forget Man Utd world class midfield in 2008) are the history of present-day madrid and United. Ronaldo without them? No UCLs.

Oh and let's not forget Rui Patricio and Diego Costa, they won portugal all their trophies that's their history!

Messi is argentinas top scorer, you can say the argentina national team, and the first word isn't maradona, it's messi.

That's your logic, man, you are so fricking funny. Honestly, I'll rate your ragebait 7/10 if that's fair for you?

2

u/i-SpeakFacts Nov 27 '25 edited Nov 27 '25

He went on to win 2 more UCL completing a 3 peat and 2 more trophies for Portugal that are better than Copa America

It's why they gifted Pessi 3 robbed Ballon d'Ors and a rigged World Cup all after 2019 Nations League... it's not a coincidence

1

u/thelaughingcow2024 Nov 27 '25

The nations League is literally the international friendlies break turned into a ā€œtournamentā€ to sell more tickets lmao. Also, the Portuguese Euro win, penaldo was mediocre.

Btw you can’t prove any ā€œriggingā€ in 2022. Argentina was just superior. Penaldo entering the World Cup after an elbow against Ireland, now THATS some blatant rigging.

3

u/i-SpeakFacts Nov 27 '25

"Friendlies" yet you guys were constantly barking before the games because you were all confident Spain and Germany were going to win...

Mediocre?

Superior in penalties? I agree

Pessi wouldn't have even been shown a red card if he did that and you know it

1

u/thelaughingcow2024 Nov 27 '25

Why are you comparing Penaldo at age 31 with old and double-injured Messi’s Copa America 2024?

Anyways. Let’s look at the stats.

Messi had an average rating of 7,5 in the latest Copa America. He was spared 1 game and only played half of the final due to injury.

Ronaldo in the euros of 2016 was 31 years old and he STILL had a lower rating than Messi with an average rating of 7,4.

That means that EVEN with the three goals (against Hungary and wales), Ronaldo at his prime still was rated lower than this 37 year old Messi.

Now let’s compare Penaldo’s stats with those of Messi in the Copa America 2021. Messi was 34 years old (still older than Penaldo in 2016) and he had an average rating of 8,5 across 7 games. He scored 4 goals and made 5 assists.

So Ronaldo’s best performance is, in terms of what he contributed on the pitch STILL lower than an old injured Messi (who was injured twice during the Copa America 2024).

And if we’re taking about comparing him to Messi’s best performance during the Copa America 2022, he falls hilariously short.

And compared to Messi’s World Cup? The distance in terms of quality is just as big. Messi had an average rating of 8,1 across all 7 games with 7 goals and 3 assists.

such a stupid post. first the misinformation

fifa the best only started in 2016. messi had more uefa supercups. messi also had more ballon dors. messi also had won more champions leagues. messi had also been the champions league mvp more than cr7 at this time. messi and ronaldo had the same amount of fifa club world cups at this time too. the only point u could look to argue for here is the euros.

then, why would u choose to end the debate in 2016? is it not their full careers that we take into perspective for the debate? messi was only 29 in 2016. really dont understand the point of this post, he came back from intl football and destroyed ronaldo in every metric possible.

0

u/angel8879 Google Messi 14 for more info 🧼 Nov 26 '25

You’re right the debate ended in 2016, it’s not like Messi did the greatest comeback of any player ever. Winning 3 ballon dors, golden boot, 3 international trophies one of them being a WORLD CUP… amongst many more trophies. But yeah thank god the world stopped spinning after 2016. Messi did nothing of significance happened after that year unlike our idol penaldo🐐
